lifelongfrugaleer · 01/03/2019 06:32

We got our preferred secondary. I got duck all sleep last night.
Buying new glasses today and a strict top up from Aldi

WreckTangled · 01/03/2019 07:02

I worked it out life Grin

Sea that's so sweet of your ds!

I have the dentist this morning 😭 have to be brave for the dc. Hate it sooooo much. Plus I've one tooth being quite sensitive so think I might need a filling. Luckily my dentist is lovely. Then home to wait in for a man to discuss where our new radiators will go. Will do lots of cleaning whilst I wait for him to stop me from eating.

LonelyOversharer · 01/03/2019 07:23

Yay life dd3 has got her place too! I wasn't even worried (you know us, it's the only school here!) but I still got that wash over of relief.

Friday! I have trays of glass everywhere. Nigh on £200 of work to get done over the next few days. £30 done last night, but it's going to be a long blue-handed weekend.

SneakyGremlins · 01/03/2019 07:31

Morning! Slightly less sniffly today.

WreckTangled · 01/03/2019 07:31

Ds is still fast asleep. I feel so mean waking him up for school every morning luckily because of the dentist we're not leaving so early today.

Justanothermile · 01/03/2019 07:37

Checking in after a busy week. Work is a touch manic at present but hopefully I'll keep up from now on. Funny how folk realise how good you are at your job when you are covering someone else too. I've got a disciplinary to do next week which I'm not looking forward to but needs to be done.

New car today. I'm excited! DH is picking it up at 3pm. The garage have told him to arrive at 2.50pm so they can hand over at exactly 3pm😂

Justanothermile · 01/03/2019 07:43

Oh and it's secondary school choice day today isn't it? Good luck to those involved. I remember the stress for DS as we wanted a specific school. Luckily his birth year was the lowest in decades and he got in. Fingers crossed.

WreckTangled · 01/03/2019 08:00

We only have one secondary school here really unless you want to go out of catchment and pay ££££ travel. It's a gigantic academy and I really don't want mine to go there. Couple years left of primary for dd though.

Justanothermile · 01/03/2019 08:07

Yes - we have had to pay £1300 per annum in total for the dc, as they went to secondary out of catchment. It's a hell of a hit but, looking back, I don't regret a minute of it for the education they have received. Also seems to make any university contribution we've made less of a hit as I got used to a monthly payment going out years ago. Was tricky to start with though to get used to for sure.

WreckTangled · 01/03/2019 08:07

£96 on hotel for when we go and see the cursed child. Best I could get in London for a Saturday night.

WreckTangled · 01/03/2019 08:08

Jam the out of catchment school here which is popular is £4K a year transport. And the bus company just went bust leaving parents out of pocket with no way of getting their dc to school Shock

Justanothermile · 01/03/2019 08:09

Ouch.........😳

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/03/2019 08:19

Yeah lonely.
There are some I know here who didn't get their first choice.
Ouchy wreck.

Good luck jam. Disciplinary hearing stuff is hard to do.

ememem84 · 01/03/2019 14:23

Afternoon. Took the day off today. Feeling crap.

Went to my hospital appointment to be told by the dr I didn’t need to because pregnant.

He said he’d look into why I was told to turn up as obviously a communication breakdown somewhere.

Been to see my gp too as still feeling. Rubbish and anxiety at peak. She’s prescribed meds. Which I think is a good idea. And said re the continuing effects of the virus that it will pass.

£44 at dr.

Home now though. Had lunch with dparents who still have ds. Just pottering round here. Tidying things. Then Netflix.

Cagliostro · 01/03/2019 15:59

Em 💐 what have they given you? I think setraline would be ok to go back on at this point tbh it is only first trimester they are a bit funny about.

I think the propranolol is helping me. The fluttery chest feeling isn’t there so much now. Early days but feel quite positive. Managed to go into town yesterday too.

Caglets tried a new club today. It’s a Lego club with a set up like that Lego masters show and the aim is to enter a homeschool team into the Lego League competition in future :o

Also started toe by toe, WOW, it’s been helpful already showing exactly where the issues are for DD.

WreckTangled · 01/03/2019 16:02

Cag I had to take some propranolol before my dentist appointment BlushGrin it definitely helps me!

Em hope you start to feel better soon

Cagliostro · 01/03/2019 16:06

Ah it’s good stuff, I had diazepam before a smear test once.

I was given the option of only taking propranolol now and then, when I really need it, or taking it regularly. I wanted to do the former but I think that won’t really work as the anxiety comes on so suddenly and unpredictably and to some extent taking the tablet then is too late. So consistency may be key. It could also help with POTS symptoms although I have to keep an eye in case my blood pressure goes too low.

I’m pleased because I have a week less than I thought before my PIP arrives. :o

ememem84 · 01/03/2019 16:32

cag setraline. Dr said it’s the best one for being pregnant. So hopefully it just takes the edge off a bit.

Netflixing. Watching abducted in plain sight. What. The. Actual. Fuck.

WreckTangled · 01/03/2019 16:43

Dd got off the bus in tears because a horrible boy had been hitting ds over and over and wouldn't stop. Ds didn't seem too bothered but dd was distraught AngryAngry

Dentist was ok for me. Dentist perplexed by how DD's teeth are coming through and at next check up will do X-rays and early referral to orthodontist. Think she has an extra adult tooth too (she had an extra baby one). So £21.90 dentist. Poor dd has had a hard day.

ChristmasSeacow · 01/03/2019 17:39

Ah poor DD Wreck. I need to get ds to the dentist. He’s never let anyone have a proper look, so it’s really about making the process familiar and then... hopefully one day!

Ocado came, £120. Was quite a lot of store cupboard groceries for that, I’d run out of a few things and want to stock up a bit too. I also bought a lot more cheese than I intended, good job it keeps well!

I spent £30 on a website called Yoshi. It came up in my fb feed, they sell interesting-looking leather goods. I bought travel card holders for my DM and DSis’s and myself . I’ll save them for next birthdays or when I need to thank them for even more babysitting favours Grin. Hope they are good quality.

WreckTangled · 01/03/2019 17:44

Sea my nhs trust has a special dentist for children with additional needs it might be worth looking into that?

Cagliostro · 01/03/2019 17:45

Ah poor DS and DD, he’s lucky to have big sister looking out for him ❤️ DS was sometimes oblivious to bullying but doesn’t make it ok does it :(

Have you got a special needs dentist seacow we have one at the hospital, many of my friends’ kids get referred there if they get too scared at the regular one.

I keep booking trips. Aaaargh. Is there a digital equivalent to hiding one’s credit card?

Justanothermile · 01/03/2019 17:53

Tricky day for your Dd wrecked. At least your DS didn't seemed perturbed.

How's your DM seacow? Did she cope okay with the DC? Mine wouldn't have offered or gone anywhere near the idea. DF would have done a night I think - I think it's wonderful to have that support.

My car is ace. It's better than having a husband. It sent me a valentines card in February, sent me a photo of itself this morning and sent cupcakes when it arrived at its new home (marketing extreme!). I've had a trundle about in to fill it up and it's really funky so I think we'll get on well. 😁

Spends.
£38 nails and toes, going to a spa day tomorrow and both were utterly dreadful, embarrassingly so.
£13 M&S.
£6 Boots on moisturiser for DD.
£46 fuel.

Justanothermile · 01/03/2019 17:53

Oh and £70 Ocado.
