If it was me I would be going in every four or five minutes to pat/shush/reassure him but not picking him up and then just keep doing that. It's easier said than done though we had some awful nights with dd (she was older though) where she would keep running out of bed and we would repeatedly put her back for about two hours. You have my sympathies!

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/02/2019 19:32

I've done that before em. Shut the door had a minute away from them and started again. We are only human.
Safe journey sea. Love the pic. Did they sell post cards of it. Say you bought one...

Not a fun day out to look forward to em.

Submitted my paint work claim. Must take photos tomorrow

Cagliostro · 26/02/2019 19:39

Crikey seacow :o could be worse I suppose :o

Yeah I suppose if he ends up on ESA or something we will go back on different benefits and such. Sigh. This is not the life we planned when we moved here. He’s started being sick on the painkillers too, so will have to try gaviscon as requested and then ask for omeprazole or something. I think we need a prepayment certificate although if benefits change I have a feeling we would get an exemption anyway (that’s what happened when he had the prolapsed disc and was off long term)

Lovemaltesers · 26/02/2019 19:44

Thanksem. These nights are tough

Spendy day on lotions and combs. Hopefully will then just be able to comb lots but I wanted the peace of mind of trying to kill the little buggers. Lots of screaming here this evening with washing and combing. Mine next once DD2 is asleep.

DP broke the ironing board too.

Love to you cag with everything going on.

Sorry I'm reading but forgetting most of the stuff as I post Blush Also, I put a 30 minute limit on my phone for social media, so quickly reading before I run out of time!

ememem84 · 26/02/2019 19:57

All quiet on the western front. I shut the door and came down for dinner. Guilt guilt guilt.

But quiet.

Gammon and chippies for dinner. Yay.

ememem84 · 26/02/2019 20:10

Just crept upstairs. He’s asleep. All curled up with big blue whale. Phew.

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/02/2019 20:10

Ah cag. Maybe it wasn't the life you envisaged but imagine much worse this would have been in a cold house.

It's guilt whatever you do em. He will be fine.

Cagliostro · 26/02/2019 20:47

Yes life definitely! I am more and more grateful for this house, I remember the massive fear when DH ended up losing his job due to the back injury a few years ago, I was so scared we would end up behind on the rent etc. We have security now and life is generally a lot better in many ways :) the Caglets keep taking the baby to play in the garden which is totally awesome.

And the stronger antibiotics seem to be working as my boobs no longer hurt so much :o

Em much sympathy on the lack of sleep, it is so draining! And coupled with pregnancy tiredness it’s just awful.

Unexpected frugal win, a couple of games I bought on a FB game group (out of my own spends money anyway, but I probably wouldn’t have if I’d known about the sick pay thing already) arrived and the person said they’d been annoyed by having too much space in the box and they added in another little game for free. :)

Unescorted · 26/02/2019 21:08

Evening peeps.

I have been to London to see the Queen today - you would have been proud, flask & pack up.

Cag that is tough, but at least the house is warmer.
Curvy I haven't seen the other thread, but have a hug. Staying in a poor relationship does no one any favours.
sea interesting art there. Hope you are cuddling the babies. The Henna is lovely.
Em hope the mini em is feeling a little better. And you are tucked up too. There are so may bugs going around atm. I have been busy spreading my germs.
Wreck good effort on the bread - you look as if you got the shaping & tensioning just right. If it is too heavy it is usually due to under proving. I find my kitchen is cooler than most recipes so the rising period is longer. Sometime to get a really tasty loaf I half the yeast and do the proving in the fridge. Also helpful if you want bread in the morning.
Sneaky can I put a seedling order in?

Lonely how's the sofa?

Hello to everyone else. Hope you are all doing well.

LonelyOversharer · 26/02/2019 21:23

I think it has been a nsd. I did spend £32 in Tescos and £38 in pets at home last night though. Bleeding expensive dog food.

em it's awful when they just cry exhaustedly. I bet you he gets some whopping molars through soon. You got super lucky getting a sleeper first...my first was a screamer. Every night, for 2 years.

ChristmasSeacow · 26/02/2019 21:23

Waiting to board in Abu Dhabi and got a message from my mum to say two cars had crashed into mine (they didn’t see each other and so almost crashed head on, and hit my parked car at the bend in the road instead Confused). She has number plate photos but couldn’t leave the children to talk to the drivers properly - one was raging into his phone anyway and I think she was a bit intimidated. She couldn’t really see the extent of the damage as it was dark and dcs’ bedtime. But defo an impact on the side. Hopefully my insurance will settle with theirs and I won’t need to claim. I have several years of no claims bonus and I will be very pissed off if I lose it!

Not the ideal end to our trip but... just 12 hours till we get home, yay!

Em we’ve done the controlled crying thing. Hard but it did work. It feels awful leaving them to cry but my DD can get in a right paddy over just a crayon so tbh I don’t think it’s necessary to avoid all crying, and also not realistic once they get wilful anyway (I’m not talking about newborns, obvs). Sleep training changed our lives, no doubt about it!

ememem84 · 26/02/2019 21:30

Thanks all. You’re so kind.

Ds is usually a super sleeper which is why I’m worried this is so out of character. But he is dribbling like anything etc and doesn’t have anything else obviously wrong with him so am going for teeth. I thought canines next but who knows! Either way. Maybe all the rest are coming through at once....

I am indeed tucked up in bed. Have had a hot squash some cough medicine (rank but safe for preggo s) some paracetamol and loads of water. So will no doubt drift off to sleep only to wake up needing a wee later.

Ds still sleeping. Like an Angel. 😇

ememem84 · 26/02/2019 21:31

Safe trip back sea xx enjoy snuggling those littlies once you get back!

SnugglySnerd · 26/02/2019 22:03

Em dd1 who was also a good sleeper went through a phase like this at about 18 months. It lasted about a week then just went back to normal. I think it might be something they go through. Hard to tell 2nd time round as sleep is generally rubbish anyway!

LonelyOversharer · 26/02/2019 23:29

Just been a big girl and done the balance transfer for the car (and polytunnel that I haven't bought yet) to my 0% card, for 18 months. I have also found the details to make a standing order, I'll pay it off weekly, as I get paid weekly.

Also withdrew £17 in euros from paypal, from one of those play games to earn cash apps, and £250 to cover the tax and insurance on the new car (was dp's bike thing, a rotor crankset that sold, so technically he paid that. Technically).

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/02/2019 06:59

Morning,
well done lonely.
Nsd planned today.

WreckTangled · 27/02/2019 07:18

Morning. Will be 3rd nsd in a row today. Have to go to work/have my smear. Last visit of the day is near home so that's good. Have just put a wash on the dc are being dicks.

Have some money confirmed in tcb that I didn't think I was going to get so that will pay for the suncream once it's payable.

ChristmasSeacow · 27/02/2019 07:27

Landed! Just waiting for our bags to appear. Probs 90mins to home in an airport cab though 😬

Have you decided to get the posh polytunnel then Lonely?

LonelyOversharer · 27/02/2019 07:47

Welcome home seacow !!
Re polytunnel, I'm 85% decided, just trying to work round the cost of the thing. I really want it, have the space for it, it's the right time to buy one (for growing in this year), can budget weekly while on 0%...but it's a serious amount of money for me.

On a wormier note, 750g of tiger worms should arrive today, restocking my wormery. I have 2 tiers of magic wormy compost in it! But very few worms. Bought with paypal money.

Unescorted · 27/02/2019 08:16

Glad to have you back in the country sea

Lonely if we had the room I would have a poly tunnel. I just have to be nice to my Bro so he does my germination in his greenhouse. Or go for plant outside things.

I am off work today - I have a streaming cold, achy bones and a headache. It would be irresponsible to give it to my colleagues.

ememem84 · 27/02/2019 08:29

At the dentist. Just.

Dh decided to drop me off and went the most conveluted way around town to get me here. Dentist is in the middle of town.

Ds slept until 6. Hooray.

I’m now at the coughing stage of my cold. God it’s awful. Coughed up all sorts of stuff this morning. Yuk. Hopefully that’s it all coming out now.

On the way to work I have to buy tissues. A lemon. And cough syrup. And breakfast.

Girliefriendlikescake · 27/02/2019 09:09

Welcome home seacow bet you're itching to see the children now. That's rubbish re the car but it shouldn't affect your no claims as not your fault.

It's payday here 😊 another nice pay packet as have additional bank holiday pay in there. I should be fine this month and hopefully able to save an additional £200...

Day off today, lots of little jobs/housework to do 😕

WreckTangled · 27/02/2019 09:22

Sea what a nightmare! I hope it's not too bad I suppose the issue will be which of the other drivers has to pay out!

My smear was super quick I reckon five seconds. Ninja nurse.

SneakyGremlins · 27/02/2019 09:23
