Ah girlie. They can be little gits at times. Poor dd.

Up early for the London train. Didn't sleep well but never do before traveling. Too hot and dh snoring as well.

WreckTangled · 28/02/2019 06:59

Girlie your poor dd! The same thing happens to ds I have no idea why luckily he's too young to care.

I've woken up with the worst headache ever Sad I've got loads of driving to do today too. Bleurgh.

SneakyGremlins · 28/02/2019 07:04

Cag people on MN usually call me Sneaky/Sneaks/Grems. Take your pick Grin

Unescorted Going to Manchester next week for a night, aaaah!

Girlie Poor DD Sad

Cagliostro · 28/02/2019 09:13

Wahoo! Sneaks it is then :

Happierwithouthim · 28/02/2019 10:05

Still not caught up with thread
Spends yesterday goats cheese salad & soda water and lime €16.20 (birthday treat) Chocolate fudge cake €4, if I'd got dessert out it would've been more than this and this cake served 8!

Cagliostro · 28/02/2019 12:15

Oooh I love goats cheese salad. One of those things I hardly ever make, and when I do I think why don’t I do this more often 🤦‍♀️😂

I just spent £2.79 at the pub. The others were all out, I did a bit more cycling while watching anime on Netflix :o then walked round. Read a bit on the kindle and did some home ed planning.

I have barely left the house lately, this is one disadvantage of DH being home as it’s far too easy for me not to have to go out. But, I am tentatively thinking the propranolol is working a bit as I’m not getting the physical symptoms of anxiety as much. Of course the last few days I physically couldn’t leave the house anyway, kinda hoping the mooncup thing will help with that. 😳 FFS really hoped periods would settle now but they’ve got worse again.

WreckTangled · 28/02/2019 12:33

£3.45 M&S on lunch and reduced blueberry hot cross buns 😋

Cagliostro · 28/02/2019 13:11

What can I do with tomato chutney? I love it with manchego, but I can’t afford to keep buying that :o and I’ve dipped cheese toasties in it too... any other ideas please?

ememem84 · 28/02/2019 13:46

I used some up in a cheese and pickle pie cag. Essentially a quiche (shop bought ready rolled pastry) but you spread chutney on the pastry base. Add loads of cheese. Then the eggy milky stuff and bake. Mmmmm.

(Also works with branston pickle - I think this was a Nadia Hussain off of bake off recipe)

Cagliostro · 28/02/2019 14:07

Oooh that sounds nice! Thanks.
Must buy scales soon so we can bake. Need some for Sunday.

Our “toe by toe” reading books arrived 💸💸💸 (although I used a voucher). Did the screening tests today and will start tomorrow. They actually got surprisingly high reading ages 🤔 but I know the test is just a tiny snapshot and I really do think they need to do the scheme anyway as even if they can read the words, they aren’t fluent.

Ggreengrass1 · 28/02/2019 15:05

Supermarkets £89
Email from bulb saying prices going downSmile
Would really love a nap.
Like the idea of pickle quiche thing , sounds yum
You any better sneaky
Think my sisters used toe by toe, is it for dyslexia?

Cagliostro · 28/02/2019 15:39

Yep the idea is being totally thorough with phonics and being reeeally slow. You do 20 mins a day but if the beginning stages are too easy they just get more done so hopefully not too boring.

I am pretty sure DD is dyslexic, despite being able to actually decode the words, she has literally every other symptom listed. She will be screened for it at the general assessment later this year, but in the meantime I figured they’d both benefit from it :)

Ggreengrass1 · 28/02/2019 16:10

Sounds greatSmile

Unescorted · 28/02/2019 18:03

sneaky it is the commuter trains you have to watch out for. Festering pits of cold bugs.

Em that sounds lush.... on my list of mid week meals. cag I use chutney (of any type) in sandwiches to jazz them up a little.

I have had quite frankly a rubbish day at work today. One that needs wine except I have to be up early and driving tomorrow.

northender · 28/02/2019 18:10

It's looking like February has been a good frugal month. I have increased our mortgage payments by £50 a month to start bringing the term down. Put bolognese in slow cooker before work this morning so a no hassle tea tonight.
Sorry to hear that about your dd girlie. I hope she gets settled with a good group soon x

ememem84 · 28/02/2019 20:12

blog.whsmith.co.uk/nadiya-hussain-ploughmans-cheese-pickle-tart/

cag this one. With pictures. Mmm

Feeling super down today. Still haven’t shifted my virus and a weeks of no sleeps has basically wiped me out. Having an in bed pity party for one here. Ds asleep. He fell asleep in the car on the way back from nursery.

Dh watching tv. Catface running up and down the stairs.

Fingers crossed ds sleeps.

I have my appointment for the fanny camera in the morning. wahoooo!!! Can’t wait. Sigh. Then work. Then friends round for Chinese. Yay.

I could bloody murder a proper alcoholic hot toddy right now instead of the hot squash I have.

WreckTangled · 28/02/2019 20:16

I'm having Chinese at a friends tomorrow too em I can't wait, dh doesn't like Chinese so I can't remember the last time I had it

ememem84 · 28/02/2019 20:41

Yay wreck what’s your order? I’m going shredded chilli beef and Singapore noodle.

Or maybe schezhuan chicken.

WreckTangled · 28/02/2019 20:48

I'm going for the beef too! But with some chicken chow mien and deep fried salted chicken 🤤

Girliefriendlikescake · 28/02/2019 20:52

I love Chinese food 🍜 mmm I want some now!

Picked up some half price Easter eggs in Tesco 4 eggs for £3. Will do for nieces and nephews.

No other spends, work was stupidly busy and lots of office politics atm 😶

Thanks for the support re dd, I just wish she could find a really good mate, she's always found it hard to find and keep friends.

Dd made flatbreads tonight, she made some at school and wanted to make more, they're very simple to make (flour and water) and very tasty!

Look nice.
Spendy day but will claim it back. All good and drink in the big smoke

AdoraBell · 28/02/2019 21:03

Ooh, if we’re having Chinese takeaway mine is beef with ginger and spring onions 😁

NSD for me, DH bought coffees then bought super barginous shoes £25 for himself and 2x sweater for DD1, £52. Local premium shop is closing and need to shift their stock.

Lovemaltesers · 28/02/2019 21:14

Lemon chicken and duck springrolls. Mmmmm

ChristmasSeacow · 28/02/2019 23:20

I’ve got a soft spot for the crispy shredded beef and also pork char sui chow mein. And those salt and pepper wings. Mmmm.

I’m sorry to hear about DD’s difficulties Girlie. It’s heartbreaking when you can’t fix everything for your dc. She sounds like a lovely kid. Is she interested in notes as well as coins, btw? I saved her a 10 rupee note (worth about 11p Wink) if you think she’d be interested.

Sneaky I don’t know whether you have a nasty cold or allergies but my hay fever hasn’t stopped at all this winter - I have to be permanently dosed up and am still struggling a bit at times. I’m never far from a box of tissues Confused. Hope you are feeling a bit better.

It’s been so lovely seeing the dc again. I’ve done a lot of cuddling. As expected, DD has reverted to Velcro Baby - poor DH is hardly getting a cuddle out of her as she is clinging to me and my back aches from doing everything today with her on one hip. But still, she’s my gorgeous squishy girl and I’m so happy to see her again. Ds has been lovely too. And today he did a very kind thing and gave DD a book that he was reading but she suddenly wanted. It’s a small thing but huge for him as he’s only really starting to understand social rules and empathy. I was very proud of him and told him so. I luff him.

Went to bed very early for me last night (10pm) after a mostly sleepless previous night on the plane. Have felt fine today. I am pretty good with jet lag, which is lucky as work frequently messes up my sleep too. I even stayed awake while DD napped and made apple and blackberry muffins.

Termly review with DS’s school tomorrow, thankfully Velcro Baby will be at nursery. Must also ring my car insurer about my car being pranged. The bodywork is scratched but not much dented, but one wheel was pretty messed up with the impact. I hope I get a courtesy car while it’s being fixed.

Happierwithouthim · 01/03/2019 06:18

€14 on Burger King for dc & I yesterday, just a burger for me not a meal
