Wheely Are you using the standing order trick on the cc?

Lovemaltesers · 23/11/2018 16:01

I complained to amazon about a £6.99 item that didn't arrive on time so they are sending a new one arriving on Sunday. I think the original one came today. What should am I meant to do?

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/11/2018 16:07

Tell them and they can cancel it if it’s arrived.

Lovemaltesers · 23/11/2018 16:07

Scrap that, checking my account I think this is the replacement item

Lovemaltesers · 23/11/2018 16:08

Thanks fluffy

Wolfcub · 23/11/2018 16:31

£15 ds haircut
£20 birthday present and card for niece. Will post tomorrow

LonelyOversharer · 23/11/2018 16:57

north yy to a waffle maker. They are ace. If you go for one I'll pop on my waffle recipie, it makes fab waffles.

love what the hell do fish fingers even do in the microwave? I'm imagining hot but floppy! Glad you feel up to food get thee to macdonalds

It has not been a nsd...£100 amazon this morning, but only paid £14 as had gift cards. And £66 just now, on lightening deals. £21 of that was 96 pouches of gourmet cat fud. I consider this an absolute bargain. If I can get 12 for £4 I'm doing well. We prefer tins mess/recycling wise, but too good to miss.

Tea is up, egg and chips, yum.

AutumnLeaves12 · 23/11/2018 17:11

Hilarity here.

Dh has gallantly agreed to learn the French horn to help ds in the orchestra. Dh went to the shop to buy a horn and discovered that he could have a double horn as opposed to ds's single horn.

Cue massive battle about whether father or son has the bigger horn.

I have nearly hurt myself with trying not to laugh.

£450 Music is very expensive. Still.

Lovemaltesers · 23/11/2018 17:37

Yep, hot and floppy lonely and not very appetising

McDonald's does sound good...

I appear to have received both my original item and the replacement. One was lurking on the stuff DP has piled on the stairs which came yesterday. Not sure if I can deal with amazon customer services today though. I had to chat to three different people about the late item.

Lovemaltesers · 23/11/2018 17:38

autumn Grin I love your music tales 😂

Justanothermile · 23/11/2018 17:47

Lovely to see you back wheely. What a fantastic reduction in debt.

Great name change happier, you don't fool me😂😂

I love the instant pot and the current deal on Amazon is great.

Done a bit of BF shopping. Docs for Dd, vegan one and her main present. £115, she knows this will be it really as we've got a 'no tat' policy. Relatives are getting gym clothes for her.

£500 Karen Millen, but only because I need a dress for a wedding and I'm not sure of sizing or style, so I think about £90, if one fits. I've tried to get one that will be okay for a Christmas dress the following year.

ChristmasSeacow · 23/11/2018 17:49

I’d love your waffle recipe please Lonely. Have a waffle maker that doesn’t get much love, I think it deserves an outing.

My oven, she shines! though I have a lovely blister on my thumb from the effort of getting the grot off the shelves

LonelyOversharer · 23/11/2018 17:49

love For £6.99, (it's not going to bankrupt them) I would consider saying nothing. Or just go through the app and request a return. They may, of course refund your money then. It was an honest mistake, it isn't like you claimed it hadn't arrived when it was in your hand. There is going to literally be a million amazon fuck ups this week.

I just activated a morrisons offer through email for 10k points (£10) if I spend £100 over the weekend. So with the other 1/2 of the weekly shop, and a bottle (or 2) for my parents, I'll get all the christmas eve party food (frozen stuff and choc) that should easily do it. In addition to the £20.50.

I'm supposed to be wrapping up...so far I have wrapped one thing.

Justanothermile · 23/11/2018 17:52

wolf, same as me been a busy bee too, all cleaning done as cleaner are off this week.

Justanothermile · 23/11/2018 17:54

north, brilliant link to the seed ball website, thanks. That's a few of my older relatives sorted, who don't want much.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/11/2018 17:57

Oooh shiney.

Did I compliment the name change, of I didn't I meant to. Pleased it's a fact as well.

£21 photos, £9 Wilko but will get 4 back from scouts. £5 team treat.

Wrongwayup · 23/11/2018 19:08

WHEELY Really well done - you sound like you are tackling it head on.

GIRLIE hope tomorrow goes well and is fun. Drove today from North Somerset to end of M5 South so waved - Think you are South of me.

Out to dinner tonight - not likely to be frugal

Shall report back
x

Wolfcub · 23/11/2018 19:36

North I think that’s a brilliant present. I’m so tempted to do the same but I think only 3 out of 5 staff would appreciate it

ememem84 · 23/11/2018 19:38

Haha hot and floppy! #childish

Slow afternoon at work.

Dh and Ds picked me up from work. Ds stole my frazzles when we got home. He had some pizza (homemade) for dinner and has broken a bowl. My last pasta bowl from my first year of uni. In 2003. 😭 But now we get to buy new bowls

He was also after my gin. And when I wasn’t looking hooked the lemon out. And ate it. Ffs.

We’ve had a ridiculous tickle fight. Mummy won. And he’s now exhausted. And in bed. I’m exhausted. On couch. Having a gin. A real one. Not one he’s poked his pizza/frazzle covered fingers in.

Order from photobox has arrived so I can wrap it up and send to nz for mil.

SnugglySnerd · 23/11/2018 20:11

Happy Friday! I celebrated the weekend by spending £157 in Waitrose. Most of that was on posh gin/whisky and chocolates for Xmas pressies. Some may also have been on a few weekend treats for us. I hardly ever go in Waitrose and this is why - I shouldn't be allowed to be around so much delicious food. Especially when I'm hungry and tired after work.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/11/2018 20:12

Evening all.

We are on the train to Edinburgh, I cannot wait to see DD1.

Love the name change Happier

Spends £13 something on McDonald's for dinner.
Will be a pretty spendy weekend though

Wolfcub · 23/11/2018 20:31

£42 Christmas presents for both nieces
£13 Christmas present for ds
£6 notebook for work

LonelyOversharer · 23/11/2018 20:40

Waffles...

Seperate 3 eggs. Whisk whites to pretty much there.

Mix (in a different bowl):
2 cups of plain flour
2 cups of milk
2 tablespoons of caster sugar
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 tablespoon of veg oil
the 3 egg yolks
Pinch of salt
Slosh of vanilla.

Fold in egg whites.

I grease the waffle iron, as it helps make them crispy brown, but they are all non stick I think. Melted butter works best, or brush over oil.

They do spead a lot, my srandard size one takes a big heapy tablespoon, no need to spread it out.
Click lid shut, cook for 4 minutes then check.
They're done if you can pop them off the pan without coercion.

Photo is my fridge recipie, in dd2's 9 yr old handwriting!

Or simply fall into pintrest...

SnugglySnerd · 23/11/2018 21:01

Mmmmmmm I love waffles. Our waffle iron has been used exactly twice because we hate cleaning it so much. Especially after we made cheesy potato waffles with leftover mashed and it squeezed out all over the place.
DD2 is very unsettled tonight. Will ever get to watch a film/have a conversation with dh/finish a drink again???

northender · 23/11/2018 23:48

Okay I'm convinced on the waffle machine! Will keep your recipe lonely.
Glad people liked the seed ball link. Em it's seeds held together with clay in small balls & with chilli powder to put off predators. There are all sorts of different mixes: wild flowers, bee or butterfly friendly, herbs, salad etc. Just a bit different.
Snuggly I hate to say it but our dc are teens now but still exhaust me, just in a different way!
