wolf I agree £37.50

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/11/2018 18:18

How is it that we lose money to the Duke of Westminster? I don't want to do that.

I have parceled up my musical instrument in a really staggering amount of bubble wrap and it's ready to post now. Really very pleased to have the £600 and hoping that the posting goes well.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/11/2018 18:32

Sea That’s awful 😠 you must have been in bits.

Wolf Your maths is right.

Got a VPN survey on my pad. £5 for a 5 week monitoring period.

ememem84 · 22/11/2018 18:58

I actually didn’t know that the the duke of Westminster.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/11/2018 19:15

You should count tonight as one cpd hour em

ChristmasSeacow · 22/11/2018 19:19

Yes, that was a very bad day indeed.

Wolf, you are defo right.

Off to Slimming World and going to spend. I have a much-loved Boden dress that really suits me (a plain colour, nothing too ‘ditsy’ Hmm) and it’s too big. It’s several years old, looks like new in spite of loads of washing and miraculously they seem to have the same dress for sale now. So I’m buying it in a smaller size, yay!

ememem84 · 22/11/2018 19:24

Will do fluffy
I’ve also counted watching “ozark” and “the infiltrator” as cpd. Incidentally both are worth a watch.

Dh made home made kfc sweet potato fries and corn. Mmmmm.

He’s trying to make up for not doing anything he promised he would today. The rule here is don’t promise.

Lovemaltesers · 22/11/2018 19:48

I agree wolf. What does he think it should be?

Been awol again although lurking. MH has taken a bit of a nose dive but I think I have reduced some of my stress so hopefully my head is about to recover as it went to scary places earlier. Did see the doctor earlier in the week so am on the self care/ sorting things out now.

Almost a NSD but just bought DP a Christmas present.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/11/2018 19:54

Just sat down! Busy packing for tomorrow.

Christmas, yes inclusion is for the kids with additional needs, they have their own provision that we follow, but ultimately our aim is for those children to feel comfortable in society and to not be excluded from it. They are included in all the stuff that typical kids are too, around the whole nursery, but if story time is too much then we have a sensory room we can use.
Well done on the weight loss.

Lol at javelin arse, I think I get something like that too.
Spends today
£6 on some snacks for the train tomorrow

CurlsandCurves · 22/11/2018 20:32

Seacow yay on your smaller dress! That’s a fantastic achievement which needs celebrating (with a new, smaller dress).

Love sorry to hear you’re struggling, hope the self care helps get you back on track.

ememem84 · 22/11/2018 20:50

AMAZing seacow sayyes to the dress!!

Ive been self careing. Feet filed (Eugh) and moisturised and socks on. Hands moisturised. Face masked cleansed and exfoliated. And moisturised with added detox boost. Jammies on. Hot water bottle fetched. Chocolate orange smashed. Virtuous camomile tea made. Bed in.

I am also listening to an audio booth. The subtle art of not giving a fuck.

Thatsnotmybaby · 22/11/2018 21:05

Well done @ChristmasSeacow

Spends today:
£3 coffee
£42 supermarket (mostly stocking up on nappies)
Will hopefully also have a spend on Amazon very shortly (play doh for Christmas gifts) but having trouble putting that through.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/11/2018 21:43

love take care of yourself, sorry to hear you've been struggling.

I don't understand the Duke of Westminster thing 😖

moimichme · 22/11/2018 21:59

Today £48 at Morrison's, mainly on groceries but also £12 on a nice smelling bath set for our childminder. Will find some decadent vegan chocolates for her, too.

Tomorrow evening we're going to a wedding and staying in a hotel overnight due to logistics (rather than a taxi home, which would be extortionate!). Should be fun though!

Flowers and Cake to those who aren't feeling great.

AutumnLeaves12 · 22/11/2018 22:14

Good point Girlie I can only manage one thread so it makes perfect sense that Wreck might have moved to the Christmas one for Christmas frugaleering.

I just went to an actual grown up meeting in the actual evening. Gosh. Survived it too. There were no LED lights. phew except just that one on the back of someone's laptop

LonelyOversharer · 22/11/2018 22:50

seacow very well done on a smaller dress. You have lost what I have gained this year Blush. I might make an effort in January

Dropped dd1 at a school thing tonight, her boyfriend was waiting for her, so cute! They have known each other since they were 1 but I'm not friends with his mum anymore really so went on to Aldi £55, all food, £5 christmas snacks stashed away. Never seen Aldi with so few people in it.

Painted tonight, as it was urgent. Panels for Frieberg, wherever that is? ignorant me Have £50 of work for the weekend too, this close to christmas it's welcome. Am dragging my heels with my amazon basket, have the amount covered by giftcards, so should just get on with it.

My new driving licence arrived today, I was shocked at the old lady looking back at me on it! It also has a big Union Jack on it, as well as a little euro flag. Pretty impressed with a 5 day turnaround by the dvla.

Happierwithouthim · 22/11/2018 23:01

Em I'm wearing thermal socks for weeks now, first year ever they're amazing, not sure they come in stylish variety though, best hidden under boots Grin

I went to Iceland this evening & used my €10 off €40 spend vouchers & spent €37.10. Got an amazing amount of stuff for my Christmas night. Plus the item I went for is €3.50 in Dunnes Stores & €1.50 there so I bought 6 packs-24 packs of steamfresh veg for me Grin

Dc spent some of their own money in smyths

What will I buy for my bachelor uncles 70th birthday?

Wolf what did h think was due?

I'm going on a shopping trip Saturday & my bank account is healthiest it's been in years, I don't want to spend ShockHmm

Seacow horrible about losing that money but great news about Boden dress Grin

LonelyOversharer · 22/11/2018 23:10

I like the name change!

Thats the problem I'm having. I've been so careful with money, gone from teetering at the end of my (1.5k) overdraft, to having between £500 & 1k in the black. I just don't want to spend it! It is lovely to get to the back end of the month and not have to worry about all the direct debits going out on the first.

ChristmasSeacow · 22/11/2018 23:30

Ha ha, love the name change Happier. You haven’t outwitted me though Wink

Dilemma is what size to buy the dress... I don’t think there’s any point buying it just one size smaller (ie what I am now). But I don’t want to be unrealistic. Hmm. Gosh, nice clothes are so motivating. I already have some lovely things that are too small and it’s great to know that I will be wearing them soon!

Btw, you can get your money back from the Duke but it is a faff and it costs. In my case 2 or 3 years had passed before I found that the money wasn’t where I’d left it so that made it much harder and I never could untangle it Confused Angry.

Happierwithouthim · 22/11/2018 23:57

Thanks hoped ye would know my posting style Grin

Lonely glad to hear it makes sense to you also. Like now I'm thinking even though I've all the money for family gym membership from df, maybe I should just choose to pay in installments & pay the money down off credit card Hmm then I think just pay this year off & save for same next year.

Seacow are you at the higher or lower end of next size down if that makes sense?

Happierwithouthim · 23/11/2018 05:48

Just bought my instant pot wolf jam Grin
Had budgeted €100 it was in deal of the day on amazon for £89.99 so converted to €95.96, chose free delivery. Didn't wait to think it over anymore in case they'd be sold out Grin
Wonder if dc will eat the yogurt from it, that would be a dream come true Grin

ememem84 · 23/11/2018 06:18

Morning all!! Fri-yay!!!

I can only keep up with a few threads religiously. The beauty hoarders one, and this one.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/11/2018 06:24

I want an instapot. Do I need one...

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/11/2018 06:35

Nice name change.
Can you get the dress in the next 2 sizes and see what the fit is like?

Still don't need an instapot. 79.99 on Amazon,.....

Wolfcub · 23/11/2018 06:42

I’m going to say the instant pot is amazing because I am an enabler! Great if you don’t have a microwave too

Morning all. Expensive day yesterday.

Thanks for the maths help. For the record h thought he owed me more. It took a very long and frustrating text conversation to sort it out. Nothing is ever simple. I’d have preferred to just buy separate Christmas presents to be honest but that probably would have upset ds
