Windy here, too, although not too bad. It was threatening rain earlier so I was extravagant and got a taxi to the childminder's house tonight. Plus bought two coffees and lunch at work. Nearly £25 in total when it could have been a NSD. Sigh.

Thanks, mammy, I'll try and see if I can find some pants for ds. He is small for his age and slim, with a long torso but with short arms and legs (kinda opposite to me, much more similar to his father!) so finding trousers that don't fall down is often tricky.

ChristmasSeacow · 06/11/2018 22:25

Tomato yes Wolf, in the form of pasta sauce, but no more than usual. It would be hard to cut it out completely because it’s basically all DS eats (and one of the few things fussy DD still likes) so it’s the only overlap between them. But not impossible so if we had to do it we would.

I am trying Aveeno and hoping for some improvement!

Paying the credit card bill, ouch ouch ouch Hmm

Morning all. Windy day here today but looks like a lovely sunny one too. I’m in bed curtains open with a cuppa. Dh is up and about. He’s off to work today and is taking ds to nursery. I’m not back at work until Monday. Wahooo.

Am getting the bus in to town later to meet dh at the bank. I never get the bus. But we’ve moved out of walking distance (or comfortable walking distance - it’d take around an hour to walk in maybe) and we only have one car and dh is taking ds to nursery this morning. I could get up drive them in then come home but nah. Lie in today. I bought a bus card the other day - £10 on it so that should last around 8 journeys and then it can be topped up.

Plan today is to bus to town, maybe grab some bits for Christmas or some things with my vouchers. Appointment at the bank then pick up the car from our space and go to the coop do a food shop then come home chill for a bit and then pick ds and dh up.

It might be worth giving it a miss for a week Sea whilst the worst passes. My exzcema is always the thing that flares if I’ve been poorly and my immune system has taken a battering and I sometimes think cutting out other triggers whilst I get over the worst of it helps.

LonelyOversharer · 07/11/2018 07:25

seacow could it be a reaction to the antibiotics? Poor little dd. Get a bit of cream, it will clear up quickly. I let dd2 have "such pretty rosy cheeks" for a couple of weeks as I thought she was teething. One smear of hydrocortisone and it was gone Blush

Sounds a good plan em. Take a bit of time for you.

Must get up. Realised that I need to eat beakfast. I don't usually, but I get wibbly standing up right through until 1pm. Ok. Really getting up now. Nsd yesterday.

Unescorted · 07/11/2018 08:03

Morning all.
I am having an idle day in bed. So far. I have been a bit awol because I am finishing up my stand up set...... Why did I think this was a good idea? I can write the jokes but learning it is going to be difficult. I have the shitest memory.

I need to go to Town to size up a bike so I can save the bus fare. The one I am looking at now is a sit up about town one. Reduced to£200 from £450. Hub, guards and luggage racks so I won't end up blathered in mud before work. I can always borrow an all singing and dancing one for adventuring... the boy's bike sponsor is generous in that respect.

Final task of the day is to sign up to the gym near work..it is £14pm and no contract. Includes classes. I am not so worried for changing facilities because we have awesome ones at work..... proper power showers, hair dryers, heated mirrors etal.

I think I am having a mid life look at me crisis...failing that now the kids are older I have time for me.

Moi if you know someone in France by them to pick up trollies for him. They assume a slimmer fit.
Sea DD used to get exzcema - we found double doing a double rinse and reducing the amount of washing powder (Aldi's cheapest non bio) reduced it.
Em enjoy your day off.

I have my clarinet exam today and ds is still in one piece. (touch wood)

I'm stupidly excited about it as I always wanted to be in an orchestra from about age 3 and then was persistently crap not very good at all musical endeavours right through childhood and adolescence.

If I can get to this teeny tiny grade 1 exam and produce a not totally embarrassing effort it will be a major triumph for my rather battered self-confidence. Smile not jinxing it at all

moimichme · 07/11/2018 08:46

Best of luck, Autumn, you can do it!

Thanks for the tip, Unescorted - we have some friends who go to France quite often, so I'll see when they are going next!

Hope everyone has a good day. Smile

Unescorted · 07/11/2018 10:02

Good luckautumn

ememem84 · 07/11/2018 10:19

So far today have had breakfast showered emptied washing machine and put another load on.

Have played with my eyeshadow and am now wearing burnt orange on my lids and burgundy mascara. Feeling a bit autumnal here.

Fil is pottering around in our garden. He’s digging stuff up. Which is fine. He never rang the doorbell or anything. It’s odd really. I’m not sure he knows I’m in the house. But hey ho.

Cagliostro · 07/11/2018 11:09

Morning all. Slow start here. Caglets have gone to art but rather reluctantly as DD especially is tired and emotional. Said goodbye to one of her best friends last night as they are emigrating 😭 and also most of her other close friends won’t be at art either due to an event they’re going to. But although we could’ve missed it (pay as you go, non booking kind of thing) I thought better to keep in routine

Best of luck autumn!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 07/11/2018 11:11

Morning all.

I'm not at work today as dd2 has been complaining of feeling sick and has a slight temperature. We were up and down most of the night.
Anyway a good chance to catch up on all the things that I never seem to have time for.

Good luck autumn.

Have a good day everyone.

Wolfcub · 07/11/2018 12:42

Good luck Autumn

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 07/11/2018 12:46

Good luck autumn 🎵🎶🎵

Been back to the Dr's this morning as gastritis not any better, have got to add raditidine in now as well as omeprazole and have a gastroscopy 😭 so fed up, this year has been a disaster health wise.

Very spendy morning as well;

£37 morrisons approx £20 of that was food, £9 was on a huge box of surf which will last ages, the rest was on Christmas bits and toiletries.

£18 on two prescriptions.

£18 on clarinet reeds for dd.

£25 aldi on all the bits that are too expensive in morrisons! !

SnugglySnerd · 07/11/2018 13:13

Hi everyone! I've finally found time to sit and catch up with you all. Sorry to hear about poorly frugaleers and their kids. We're just getting over a bug here.

Good day luck with the clarinet exam autumn.

I can see the thread is nearly full so I'm going to try and keep up better when the new one starts. I need wise frugal guidance to keep me on track as Christmas approaches!
