I’ve also given dh a choice this afternoon. Take ds out for a walk or something for an hour or so or clean the house.

I didn’t care which. But told him that things needed to be done today and I can’t do them with ds around.

He’s taken ds out for a walk to the park.

My washing line has been cemented in this morning. Fil came round to help dh do it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/11/2018 13:53

Nsd.

Cagliostro · 04/11/2018 14:25

Oh so he let his dad help then 🙄😂 thanks for mentioning that offer, I’m going to order the safety gates. £75 for 3 (need wider ones here) - have decided to go for one at the top and bottom of stairs, and one for living room. I had thought kitchen but I just realised if the door is held open we can’t get to the fridge 🤦‍♀️

ememem84 · 04/11/2018 14:31

Yep. But I don’t care. Fil is ever so practical and efficient. It was done within 15 minutes. Fil also had a go at the garden too.

I bought stair gates for us. One too and one bottom. We need to get them up as ds is starting to master stair climbing...

We’re watching CBeebies at present. Or at least I am...

Wolfcub · 04/11/2018 14:33

I was going to say I thought parents weren’t allowed to help Em
2.80 bacon and sausage sandwich from Greggs - after two trips there and back to the city a load of ironing and a catastrophic nosebleed (I never have a minor one) all over my relatively clean house I deserved it. Watched ds’s match and got fleeced for sponsorship by an organiser £1. Will need to shell out a bit later for bonfire and pie and peas and may buy some sparklers if I’m feeling benevolent

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/11/2018 14:51

£60 Matalan, £15 DS, £20 keys cut, £50 Sainsbury's, £11 Asda, £9 book people, 79p milk,
Some for Christmas though.

Feel very unproductive though. Bit over whelmed. CBA with work tomorrow either.

ememem84 · 04/11/2018 15:05

I have no issue with Fil helping us out providing he doesn’t take over. He’s going to cut back the shrubs etc in our front garden. He does know what he’s doing to be fair.

ememem84 · 04/11/2018 16:01

Just listed a pair of shoes on eBay. So hopefully they’ll sell.

Have 2 items to post so will remember to pick up my post bags from dparents today and post tomorrow.

cag I found the veggie toys so will send a couple to cagletini.

SneakyGremlins · 04/11/2018 16:05

Have found a set of lovely purple double bedding that I've never used, washed, reckon I could sell it?

ememem84 · 04/11/2018 16:13

I’d give it a try sneaky

Wolfcub · 04/11/2018 16:18

I’m not having a go at you Em just a gentle dig at your dh after his declaration last Saturday and subsequent cot moving feat

SneakyGremlins · 04/11/2018 16:19

Thanks em - eBay? Shpock? I'm not on FB sadly

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/11/2018 16:39

shpock, no fees is it? Fb take loads.

We do cash on collection and make them sign for it to say it’s in good condition.

ememem84 · 04/11/2018 17:41

wolf I know. I said the same to dh this morning. He was a bit sheepish.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/11/2018 17:46

We've had a nice day, met a friend for a walk this morning I spent £10 on tea and cake as was my turn.

Another friend popped over this afternoon, she approves of my b day dress so that's good but said it will look best with heels so will have a look for some on Wednesday.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 04/11/2018 17:53

Lovely sunny day here
Did another casserole plus yorkies and roasties.
All in the fridge to heat and have Mon/Tues.
Extra yorkies frozen and I have roasted a squash that has been sitting around.
DH not keen but this afternoon we planted new apple and pear trees.
Pointed out the ground was rained on and the soil warm so best to get on with it.
Tonight is fire, knitting and Strictly .Glitterball
I got my heated throw ,its brilliant Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/11/2018 18:31

I did Yorkers with my Sunday roast. DS loved dive club.

Waiting for Dr who now

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/11/2018 18:46

I have a new look voucher to spend as got it for dd but she is being awkward.

I'm thinking this skirt in dark brown or burgundy. I reckon it will come to not too far above my knee. What do you think?

Wolfcub · 04/11/2018 18:48

Another £1 for the raffle at the bonfire. Ds went off with his friends to watch the fire works so I watched alone, it’s defin a year of firsts! Queue for pie and peas was ridiculous (h used to queue for us) so we’ve come home and ordered a Chinese Blush

Quite I saw a beautiful crab apple in the garden centre the other week and I was quite tempted I know it’s only nay good for jam but I liked it for the style rather than the eating

Wolfcub · 04/11/2018 18:52

Life I like it. I have a couple of cord skirts for work

QuiteFabULousDahling · 04/11/2018 18:57

Thats a really nice skirt life
Saw it yesterday and quite fancy it myself but spent "my money"on trees 😂
Wolf I have 2 different varieties and they are worth it for the blossoms alone .
Never fails to cheer me up in the Spring

ememem84 · 04/11/2018 19:22

life like it. Wear with a black polo and tan knee high boots and black tights.

I love a cord skirt.

LonelyOversharer · 04/11/2018 19:50

A crab apple is never wasted. I know of 6 John Downie trees on "common land" that I have picked stripped in the past. Makes wonderful jelly to have with white meat and porridge and to stir into any casserole or gravy. Use tonnes of the stuff. I use roadside scrumpers as well for jelly.

Just sat for an hour listing bike jizz on ebay. Chainrings and brake discs. A set of mtb hubs got bid on about 2 mins after I listed them. Thats always nice.

I sorted out the workshop floor tooday. Seven bin bags!!! Bloody dp. And two broken storage crates full of scrap metal. I went to the tip. Dd1 had fun volunteering, herding cows! We popped to Tesco, £46, but £25 of that was advent calendars. My dc have expensive tastes! At least they are ticked off the list. I rather fancy the nivea one, but it's £40 Shock

Joined Voucher Codes the other night for a Debenhams code (got an extra 10% off sale stuff, mostly swimmers and towels), and it tracked my spend, so £10 Amazon voucher coming my way.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 04/11/2018 19:54

Ive got apple jelly and quince jelly here Lonely Smile
Apple jelly stirred into hot water is great for a cough .
Strictly !!!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/11/2018 20:00

I'm going to order it then. I think with thick tights it will be fine for work. I like Polo necks but don't suit them as they make me look like I have a huge shelf.
