Hello all
Busy week here-took another AL day today.
Have quickly skimmed so sorry if I miss anything .
Sea Flowers what a rotten week you have had in your house .
Hope you are all feeling better soon.

em sounds like you are settling in well-how is Catface liking it ?
Will she venture out or be a house cat?

Jam I love "Just do it"

Also love Flylady name annoys me but its the principle of breaking things down and just getting on ,I cant bear mess and have routines as I dont want to waste precious time or feel stressed .
Laundry done as soon as I get in on Fridays, when the DC were little their uniforms were done and hung up ready for the week ahead.
I like to have a day like today to get stuff up to date and sorted.

DD calls it adultingGrin
Im really liking these Friday leave days .
I got up at 6 and have blitzed the place, shopped £28 ,which was £18 Asda and £10 M&S Indian meal deal .
We make it last 2 nights
Sainsburys £2.34 on 2 packets of AA stewing steak from the meat counter.
Reduced -I was about to head to the farmshop so decided to try it .
Will make 4-5 meals for DH and I .Its in the slow cooker now.I got my last 500 points voucher added .
Sprouts £1
Regarding Nectar points,I shop very occasionally in Sainsburys so most of my points are from the App or ebay,Boden, insurance.
Its stuff I would buy anyway.
Ebay are fast ,Boden had to be chased (keep your order details) I didnt but used the words "very unhappy" and they gave me more points than I was due . £156 now

mammy Im so sad to hear about Ddog SadFlowers
Wolf I havent had a Fat Rascal for ages Smile

SneakyGremlins · 02/11/2018 16:08

SadFlowers Mammy

NSD today.

Think I'm getting a cold!

WereWolfcub · 02/11/2018 16:17

Quite it seems I am missing out on Boden nectar points. How do I link my card to my account?

£5 conditioner from Superdrug.com. £3.83 cashback from topcashback. It’ll last us 3 months 😎

Dh says I’m not an adult. He’s refusing to see how to train your dragon 3 because I always cry. I might need to cut a deal and sit through Venom.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 02/11/2018 16:24

Wolf as far as Im aware you cant-I went through the app.
They didnt pay though .
I think it was something to do with their returns policy .
But Nectar gave me the points anyway.

ememem84 · 02/11/2018 16:35

I’ve booked 3 days off next week to adult. And get on with life admin. And get my hair cut. And take ds for his 12 month jabs.

WereWolfcub · 02/11/2018 16:58

My Fridays off from compressing my work hours are all about adulting. I couldn’t manage as a single parent with a child with a lot of their own commitments without them (well I could but I’d be on my knees). Love an adulting day

£36 oasis (via gift card) in two skinny knit jumpers. A basic black one and a burgundy one.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/11/2018 17:59

£77 Aldi, £20 Iceland, £9 swimming, £20 NT shop (aira falls before home)
I miss my nwd to do adult stuff and a morning gym class. Going to need a few in the next 7 weeks

Moanranger · 02/11/2018 18:07

Quite I must register for Nectar on eBay as I use it lots!
Well, something of a disaster has hit. I have been suffering from fleeting, sharp dental pain on a back molar for months. Dentist has not been able to diagnose. Last night turned into a full-on raging toothache. Got an emergency with dentist, it is probably something called cracked tooth syndrome & v hard to diagnose. It actually feels like it is in a tooth that has been capped & root-canalled, but probably in next tooth. The crack does not show on x-rays. Cannot get an appt for full exploration until 14th Nov tho am now on waiting list for cancellations.
As a result, I am maxing out OTC painkillers, on strong antibiotics (which I rarely take) & have had to buy cream soup, yogurt, soft rolls as eating hurts, even if I avoid the sensitive tooth.
So much for my plans, the gods laugh.
So I have nearly two weeks til treatment, and it is possible they won’t have the right tooth (tho most of my molars on the affected side are capped & RC’ed - my mouth is a wonder of expensive dentistry)
I am bummed.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 02/11/2018 18:11

DH is converted too Wolf which is a shock
He did all hen houses plus food and water.
Then rabbits plus food, hay and water.
Bum checks were joint Grin
He has restocked all pet food in the containers indoors.
He has just hoovered the entire house and is very pleased with himself #its only taken 26 years ...
This is stuff I struggle with due to my shoulder -he usually procrastinates endlessly .

AutumnLeaves12 · 02/11/2018 18:15

Moan that's really bad luck. Sorry you're dealing with that. I hope the soup is nice.

It's amazing the things that people deal with so quietly behind closed doors isn't it? I suppose all our friends must have things like this going on but we only hear about it on the frugaleers and not from RL friends so much.

I've been watching videos online about how ABRSM exams are marked and apparently I've to worry less about the music being beautiful and more about just playing the right notes in the right order. I am trying hard to do that in my practises. Dh is trying to learn the piano accompaniment, and ds's piano teacher says he could do it if I am stuck, so less frazzled now.

I have a concert to go to tomorrow night which is my super-exciting treat of the year, so I am also crossing my fingers to be healthy tomorrow. she says, totally jinxing it

QuiteFabULousDahling · 02/11/2018 18:17

MoanFlowers
I had the same thing -visited dentist for 2 years with diagnosis of sensitivityHmm
Then a huge abcess which undermined the tooth and it had to be removed.
Ring every day for an appointment !

Its really easy you just input your Nectar card number .
It all adds up and they do double/triple points offers Smile

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/11/2018 18:32

Oh mammy sorry to hear that, it's heartbreaking to lose a much loved pet 💔💖 🌈

Glad dd is improving seacow sounds like you have a good GP, hope he was reassured when he saw her this afternoon?

I've had an okay day at work and dd had a good day with her grandma so all tickerty boo here. Spent £35 on petrol and £3 on lunch.

LonelyOversharer · 02/11/2018 18:38

Oh moan thats grim for you Flowers the last time one of my teeth went off on one it was an almighty infection which I went to the gp with Blush as it was in my eye socket! The antibiotics will sort yours out I bet, but they are strong ones they give for this. I had my wretched crowned and rc tooth out. The relief!! I think toothache is worse than labour pain.

mammy Flowers my heart goes out to you xxxx

So, Morrissons has sent their christmas coupon. I have to spend £55 for 5 weeks, to get £20.50 credited. Worth it?? I could do my weekly shops there, get a few christmas bits and fill the freezer with meat to get a good run at January...but I do tend to buy a lot of 'treats' in Morrissons. Hmmm.

Spends today, £25 fuel for dp (apparently as I asked him to go into town for me twice this week he'd run low he's possibly right ), and £17 postage for ebay shiz.

Justanothermile · 02/11/2018 19:03

Not sure that is worth it lonely. All very well if it's simply the weekly shop plus a few bits. A bargain is only a bargain if it's useful. Or something😂

About bloody time you showed up quite.... I'm with you on the Fly Lady principe, I'm doing a room a week. Anything more would be overwhelming, but I can do this easily.

Hope you're feeling okay mammy.

Great news that Dd has perked up seacow.

Spends today was £45 on some new chickens, that took up a lot of time this afternoon as they escaped the area I'd made for them and went to say hello to my existing flock, who were not impressed. Then they wouldn't go to bed....

Justanothermile · 02/11/2018 19:05

moan toothpaste is utterly the pits. It's grim, it's as bad as earache. Massive sympathy.

WereWolfcub · 02/11/2018 19:10

Oh no Moan. I agree with the others toothache was worse than post-section pain. Hope it eases soon

Justanothermile · 02/11/2018 19:12

Love the term 'adulting' too, we all need adulting time when the dc are small for sure.

Quite - I did the same with athletics kit, swimming kit etc too. Washed as soon as home and repacked for next time.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/11/2018 19:14

Sorry Sneaky & moan, hopefully you will be able to stay in over the weekend. Massaging the nerve might help you moan, google will show you what to do.

Lonely, doesn’t sound worth it to me. Run it through my supermarket & see which supermarket comes out cheapest.

Thatsnotmybookworm · 02/11/2018 19:25

Oh I'm so sorry about your dog @mammynowanauntyIRL.

Spends yesterday:

£4 on a scone for me and some ridiculously expensive OJ for DH; I hope he appreciates what a thoughtful wife he has Grin.

£8 on coffee capsules and cartons of soup; obviously buying cartons of soup is very unfrugal compared to making my own, but half a carton of soup with cheese and crackers
Brought from home is still much more frugal than buying lunch out. I must invest in a soup maker though...

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/11/2018 19:28

If you register with the media cell app they give you £10 a month amazon vouchers. £20 for your first month.

LonelyOversharer · 02/11/2018 19:28

The answer won't be Morrissons fluffy thats for sure! I could buy a years worth of cat food...etc, but then I am simply spending money for a tiny little carrot. £20 "free" isn't even 10% back on the £275 spend. Will think. Had just weaned myself off Morrisons as I buy too much crap in there, love the cheese, bread, cake...

AutumnLeaves12 · 02/11/2018 19:34

I never manage to use those £10 off vouchers lonely. I just never reach the minimum expenditure level. I gave up trying ages ago, as I feel better about not spending the money than I do about getting a tenner off.

I seem to have found someone to play the piano for me now. He sounds nice, and is coming for a practise on Tuesday. Phew!

SneakyGremlins · 02/11/2018 20:02

Going out for some 5p bread later I think.
