Sea hope your dd is on the mend and that you all get some much needed sleep. Don’t feel guilty about the doctors, I think most of us would have done exactly the same thing. It is Sod’s law that you’ve had all this to deal with right at the time you go back to work. You will look back on this period of your life in absolute amazement that you got through it.

kitkat6 · 01/11/2018 22:32

sea hope babysea is feeling much more herself when the antibiotics kick in

Bornlazy · 01/11/2018 22:34

Cag good luck - sending sleep vibes your way 😉

Wrongwayup · 02/11/2018 06:21

Hope all better soon and that everyone slept well. Only spend yesterday 25 in tesco

ememem84 · 02/11/2018 06:25

Morning all.

Ds woke himself (and us) up at 1230...he has a cough. Then decided to sing. Dh got up and tried to get him back to sleep.

He was awake at 6 this morning and is singing away at present. I’m downstairs.

Busy ish day today. Catching up on all the things I missed from work yesterday while I was at the conference.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/11/2018 06:36

Sea don’t feel bad, I left it when I had it in may and was in a really bad way. I felt so much better after a few days on antibiotics. It was like a fire being put out in my throat. The liquid suspension I used 11 years ago worked faster than capsules.

£3 topcashback bonus this weekend, spend over £5.

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/11/2018 07:37

Sea YY to lollipops for you both but definitely dd. How some sleep was had. Bloody law of sod. Can't be helped re the deadline and they will just have to stuck it up. Maybe your will get some weekend time to finish it?

Yesterday our Japanese Akita was pts. He died of heart trouble but his heart was broken when our Siberian Husky was pts in July. I knew it was coming as he was starting to fail, 10.5 years old. I spent a lot of Wednesday evening with him & we said our goodbyes then. Vet was so kind & didn't charge for the scan.
It hasn't hit dc as hard this time.

€40 vet
€11.10 on chips
€50 laser treatment

Oh mammy, I am so very sorry for you and your old boy. Xxx

Justanothermile · 02/11/2018 09:22

seacow, you are an extremely sensible parent in my view, do not feel guilty. I would have made the same call. Remember that the vast majority of times our dc are poorly when little don't amount to anything as serious. And that the little sods usually make fools of us by bouncing round the GP surgery as soon as we take them in.

Thanks, DS appears to be enjoying life, we were going to go last week but he cancelled. Hard to tell via text but he seems to have found a solid set of flat mates and getting on with it. Lots of early lectures though! I'm quite proud of him, he's my less social, quiet soul so this is more out of his comfort zone than for DD. But he was out Wednesday and Thursday, so is not sitting in his room in a solitary state.

It's a different phase of parenting, that's all ha!

CurlsandCurves · 02/11/2018 09:30

Mammy so sorry to read this, hugs to you all.

Not posted much because it’s not been a very frugal time! Weekend away last week. Half term this week has resulted in a trip to the cinema, the fair is in town and today we are going to a trampoline park. So frustrating, just got really organised, and most of what I could be saving is going out! Nice to be able to say yes to things without worrying about the cost for once tho.

Just lost it with DS1 this morning. Went into his room to find he’s had his fan on all night! It’s ruddy freezing outside! All he had to do was open a window. Our electricity bill is the bane of my life, it’s the one I really am struggling to get under control. And DS1 does this! He knows better, I’m always on at him for leaving lights on etc. Argh!!!

Aaaand breathe.....

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/11/2018 10:26

Take the fuse out. No one his age knows about fuses.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/11/2018 10:27

Have you got led light bulbs everywhere?.

AutumnLeaves12 · 02/11/2018 12:12

I'm in a bit of a muddle because my clarinet teacher cannot come to my exam to play the accompaniment, and I have phoned everyone in the known universe to ask if they are free to help and nobody is. If anybody could cross their fingers for some kind of divine intervention, that would be very helpful. #firstWorldProblems

AutumnLeaves12 · 02/11/2018 12:15

I should really stop stressing about that and just practise for the exam. Maybe I will go and do that.

WereWolfcub · 02/11/2018 12:26

Oh Mammy I am so sorry. Anyone who has loved and lost a dog knows how devastating this is. Hope you are okay.

Jam I believe at university there is a ‘tribe’ for most people and hopefully they find it. Lovely that your DS has gelled with people from the start. Bet he’s having a great time.

Arf at fuses Fluffy!

Dd is much brighter today, thanks everyone. She was screaming when she woke up
(I think because her throat hurt) but calmed down after a drink. She’s much less listless and even occasionally wants to play. She polished off a whole dippy egg and soldiers at lunch too. But is still s bit hot and very very clingy. We’re on the mend though.

I was asleep by 10pm and didn’t stir till DD woke at 6am so I’m in a much better state too. Tummy’s still not right but I’m taking it easy with food. We had DS’s meeting this morning (was okay, will be useful if they follow up as discussed) and now I’m going to do a few hours work before taking DD back to the Gp. The lovely GP she saw yesterday actually phoned at 8.30am today to ask how she is, even though we are seeing him later. He said he’d been ‘very concerned’, was very thoughtful of him to ring.

Onwards and upwards, so glad it’s Friday! I really need a nice quiet weekend. Hopefully we can have our postponed Halloween 🎃

ememem84 · 02/11/2018 12:46
