Ok so I drank zero water on Saturday and had a horrible migraine type headache on Saturday night. Drank more water yesterday. And had mild headache last night.

Headache reappeared at 1030 this morning. Took paracetamol and drank water. Still there a bit.

I’ve done the unthinkable and dr googled.

Dr google says stress related migraines can last up to 72 hours.

Dr google also says they can be triggered by not drinking enough water. And also by a hormonal imbalance (am on break week from pill so period time!).

This is a thing right?! Reassure me please.

ememem84 · 29/10/2018 18:39

Obviously if it continues I’ll seek medical attention but I suspect it’s a reaction to stress

WreckTangled · 29/10/2018 18:43

Definitely sounds right to me em. All those things cause a headache for me.

Unescorted it's navy 😊

Lovemaltesers · 29/10/2018 18:43

em my migraines I've normally attributed to stress. Sometimes headaches too. But also I don't always drink enough water and think headaches come from that.

If you feel really unwell, do suggest you see the doctor just Incase. As I'm no doctor!

Will catch up later

AutumnLeaves12 · 29/10/2018 18:44

Everybody in our family gets headaches when we are very dehydrated. It takes a while to get better even if we chug loads of water.

I think that if you are so run off your feet that you don't have time to drink then that is maybe a relevant factor though. I totally know how that can be and it happens to me all the time too.

Sometimes I find I can chug water more quickly in the bath. I have no idea why.

Sorry to hear you're having a time of it too. Flowers

QuiteFabULousDahling · 29/10/2018 18:46

Sounds likely em
Are you clenching your jaw ?
Some big open mouth yawns can help and if you put you tongue on the roof of your mouth its difficult to clench your jaw at the same time .

Unescorted · 29/10/2018 18:52

Home made isotonic drink works well... Weak squash with real sugar in and a quarter teaspoon of salt. I get headaches from dehydration all the time. Hadn't made the link with periods but thinking about it there is a link. The isotonic is good for hangovers too. Not that I would know...obvs, being such a paragon of health.

Unescorted · 29/10/2018 18:53

wreck I will go on a hunt.

ememem84 · 29/10/2018 19:48

Thanks guys. I’m sure I’ve got some rehydration stuff somewhere. Will have some of that and see how it goes. Paracetamols ok. But I know ibruprofen would help (but not meant to take it because of anti depressants). I’m sure I’m dehydrated as my lips are all cracked and sore.

I’m not getting the vision wobbles this time. Thank god as I just drove ds home. Which according to google is a stress factor. Just the one sided tension headache stuff. I tried chugging water on Saturday evening but thought I was going to throw up so need to sip more gently.

Am in bed with nurse catface. Lights aren’t affecting me. So that’s a plus.

Google suggests 4-72 hours. I know migraine can come and go so hopefully it’ll just go.

Found catface this morning. She was under ds’ cot. Hiding from him. He’s super mobile now and likes chasing her. Not in a cruel way he thinks she’s hilarious and wants to show her things and play with her. She doesn’t like it much though!

WreckTangled · 29/10/2018 20:00

The only thing that gets rid of a migraine for me is being sick. Thankfully I haven't had one for ages but when I do I can't even move. Never get visual stories though. Mines hormonal. I hope you can sleep it off are you back at work tomorrow?

WereWolfcub · 29/10/2018 20:56

Evening all Wreck that boils my piss too. For a few years I have told ds he will have to pay for replacements himself as he inevitably lost a jumper by the end of the first week of term. He will be purchasing a new geometry set and gumshield with his pocket/bday money as he’s carelessly/deliberately destroyed both.

Sea I hope you manage to get some work done tonight. I’m afraid that I would be taking my laptop to the coffee shop/library tomorrow if it was a choice between hitting a deadline and nursing a poorly adult because usually mum’s look after poorly babies and poorly mum at the same time.

Surprisingly frugal day £1 mints for car (to ward off car sickness I am a shit passenger), £4.50 magazine for ds as he left his at home. 80p sweet for ds. 40p toilet access fee for ds. 50p for df! Hmm. Dm and df treated us to dinner and a cuppa and scone

I think I may have a chillblain again my big toe is very painful

Em stress headache would be reasonable to expect with a house move following a week of illness and family drama. I agree with Unescorted’s solution although I’d sack off the squash because I don’t like it

Yep wreck work tomorrow. I’m in bed now. Had pasta and red pepper pesto for dinner with cheese. Mmm

Leftovers for lunch.

New rug arrived. Looks awesome. We’ve rolled it the other way to hopefully roll put the creases.

I need to get back into a routine with work. As feel like I haven’t done a full week for ages!!!

But Dm suggested I take a couple of days in a couple of weeks. Just for me. She’s a sensible one. I’ll probably end up having two days when ds is at nursery. So I can properly chill.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/10/2018 21:12

I get really bad hormonal headaches and the only things that helps are caffeine, co-codomol and sleep!

Dd had a nice time bowling with her friend so that's nice. She came back knackered though and went up to bed quite early, I think the clock change has thrown her.

Poor ds wreck he has been through the mill a bit hasn't he.

Good luck seacow getting your work done.

moimichme · 29/10/2018 21:28

Thanks for the kind welcome everyone! Sorry to hear about those of you (and family members) who are not feeling well. Flowers

£1.90 bus fare because it's freezing, and was too tired to walk 1.5 miles home in the dark

Ratatouille lentil pasta tonight, from ingredients we already had in the house

Tomorrow night - dunno, but we need rice and more salad for lunches

Two more days until payday, phew!

Thatsnotmybookworm · 29/10/2018 21:51

@mammynowanauntyIRL it's such hard work when they are like that isn't it, DS has his moments too!

Updated spends:
£9 Aldi mostly stocking up on nappies.

AutumnLeaves12 · 29/10/2018 22:06

I just bought shares from my ISA through the iWeb investment site. Last time I bought shares of actual companies that I knew about and got a 10% profit in a few weeks. This time I bought a bit of a tracker thing. I'm going to wait and see what happens.

ChristmasSeacow · 29/10/2018 22:10

Thanks for the cheering me on - I am stationed in front of the laptop and just having a 2-min break while the kettle boils.

I should just clarify: DH doesn’t expect me to look after him at the expense of my work, the question is whether he’ll be well enough to look after DD. This afternoon he definitely wouldn’t have been as he’s literally been unable to lift his head off the pillow. It’s the most ill I’ve ever seen him, and I include the morning after his own stag do in that Grin. Since mum is similarly incapacitated I may have to look after DD, in which case I will be waving toast at DH at intervals too. I’m just keeping everything crossed that mum and DH between them are well enough to look after dd over the next 3 days, and that I don’t also come down with it!

Right, back to it. How’s the mouth Cag?

AutumnLeaves12 · 29/10/2018 22:12

That doesn't sound fun Christmas. Do you think I should emigrate now? These things always knock me over for weeks.

Good luck with the deadline. We're still cheering you on here.

Cagliostro · 29/10/2018 22:15

It was all good seacow until the baby woke up and lunged at me for a kiss 🙄😂 have taken more painkillers

Ordering Tesco

LonelyOversharer · 29/10/2018 22:47

Checking in, hi newbies!

Long day at work, coupled with 3 extra hours painting tonight (for £12.50, I know), but it's end of month and urgent. Nsd, but gave dp £30 to feed dc and pick up some bits. He got all my points added onto my nectar card, I now have £51 to spend!

Am so tired. Sending love and hugs to anyone who needs them, being poorly sucks (as does looking after poorly people). Kudos cag thats lots of work to get done in one day, but short term pain and all that. 💗

Unescorted · 29/10/2018 23:35

I am back... I went out to my comedy workshop. It is amazing to see what my classmates can do. I am in awe. Anyway I have to write a routine for next week..... Eeeek!

Cag ouchhhhhh. On both counts.

Wolf It is already freezing out tonight on our side of the hill. Keep your mits and footers toasty.

I hate migraines...mine are triggered by solvents which is so handy given the number of newly painted houses I get to see.

Lonely take care of yourself. There are only so many long days you can do. Topping and tailing is ok short term but don't make it a habit.

ChristmasSeacow · 30/10/2018 03:24

I have brain fog so the writing is going veeeeerrryyy slowly. I am getting nowhere so am going to bed. Even though I haven’t got enough done at all. 😬

Up at 6.

ememem84 · 30/10/2018 06:22

Morning.

Slept until 1145 last night then woke up with a bit of a headache (but milder so didn’t bother with any more pain killers). Woke up at 530. Tired but ok. I think. I’m also feeling a bit sinusey so this could also be a cause I think.

May have to resort to ibruprofen today (dr gave me additional meds to take with it to it so they don’t fight with my anti depressants).

I’m going to try and get my broadband sorted out today. Yippee.

Looks like it could be a cold day. Stay warm y’all

thistimenextsummer · 30/10/2018 06:42

Early start here due to very snotty children! I think, as others have said, that I need to start getting up earlier anyway for a more productive and serene life. I actually do need to pack to head off in a half term visit but I'm currently having cuddles in front of CBeebies.

Sea reading your 3am post reminded me of uni essay all nighters - there comes a point when you just need 💤! Good luck with it today - little and often with regular fresh air breaks x
