Barsteward!
North that is beautiful quilting... Mine is more rustic.

Wreck I am about to give you secret recipe. Don't share because it makes me look a goddess with very little effort. First put the muffin trays in the oven at 180-200 deg with a half teaspoon of clarified butter in each cup. Do something for half an hour or so. When the pans an oven are hot measure out a volume of eggs.... I use 8 medium ones to give 400 ml of egg. This does 24 puds ( we sack off spuds). Pour in an equal volume of milk. Measure an equal ( to egg volume) plain flour ... Do not use strong flour. Aldi plain or T45 work best so far. Put it in a large bowl add salt and pepper and give a quick flick with a balloon whisk to aerate. Leave a well in the centre...as if you are making pancakes. Whisk the eggs and milk together.... Check the timings of everything else. When you are 30 min from serving pour half the egg &milk into the centre of the flour well. Mix drawing the flour in ... I find the best way is to whisk one way and turn the bowl the other. When it gets battery pour the remaining milk egg mix in. Do not mix more than necessary...this is where everyone goes wrong. It just needs be smooth. As soon as it mixed put it into a jug and immediately grab a tin out of the oven. Fill each muffin tin up to the half way point and quickly slot back in the oven. Do the second tray. Turn the heat down by 10-15 deg Have a glass of wine or two and 35-40 minutes later the puddings will be perfect.

Do not let the batter sit about, do not use strong flour and do not over mix.... All result in gluten that is too developed and they turn out like greasey flat lumps. Not nice.

WreckTangled · 28/10/2018 13:18

It all sounds very complicated 😁 but thanks for all your tips! Not sure whose recipe I'm going to try but will let you know the outcome...

Unescorted · 28/10/2018 13:22

Puddings are a serious business in our house.... The kids have been taught the way of the mother 😋 Thankfully not my mother... I learned from YouTube.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 28/10/2018 13:39

Fluffy, I have looked at bean to cup machines before, but they are just too expensive. I know I have been to costa a lot this week, but a few of does trips included lunch with the DCs. I don't smoke and rarely drink and it really is my only treat Smile

AutumnLeaves12 · 28/10/2018 13:42

Girlie I get new Regatta coats end-of-line from ebay for ds. They are cheap and really nice.

That's weird about Quorn.

I just took a smack in the finger from ds while sword fighting, so have stopped to regroup.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 28/10/2018 13:45

I use Delias recipe and multiply as needed
Add an extra egg, whisk together and use straight away .
Hot oil is a must.
They usually hit the oven ceiling .

The thermal tights were either Aldi or Lidl last year and XL but Im tall with big feet Grin

LonelyOversharer · 28/10/2018 13:48

Wreck! What wolf and quite said. Equal by volume. Works for one egg or 20 (don't ask). The oven bit is the important thing.

Wanting toad in the hole for tea now...might do a tray bake of courgette, red onion and peppers with snags, and pour batter over. I'll get dressed and go and use the sainsburys self service check out, after going to the tip.

LonelyOversharer · 28/10/2018 13:50

And em I figured he would, even if he broke bits off the cot and/or the car, I knew he would fit it in. Ime cots don't take taking to pieces repeatedly well, the drop down side is never the same after dismantling.

AutumnLeaves12 · 28/10/2018 14:02

LOL! Em should we start taking bets on how this battle rolls out?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 28/10/2018 14:19

Oh em I feel for you.

Justanothermile · 28/10/2018 15:35

Afternoon.

Meal plan.

Quorn roast.
Quorn fillets.
Quorn mince.
Quorn stir fry.
Quorn chilli.

Not really, it’s just to make fluffy barf. 😂😂

Justanothermile · 28/10/2018 15:41

Right, I’m back. Full on week last week.

Menu plan.

Nut roast and all the trimmings.
Tofu stir fry.
Mushroom bourguignon and veggies.
Sweet potato dhal.
Cauliflower mac and cheese.
Pumpkin and chilli soup.

The last soup was supposed to be made last week, but work mate didn’t bring the pumpkin to work, so I used a massive bag of tomatoes bought for a quid from the greengrocer, roasted with two onions, four cloves of garlic and Italian spices. Mixed into a litre of veg stock and wizzed, four massive portions of soup. Frugal.

fluffy I got a 5000 points voucher on my first swipe offer. Cool.

LonelyOversharer · 28/10/2018 15:47

I read that and was thinking "jam has got a good deal on quorn"!!

Never tried the stuff as I always thought it was cultured mould...it is. But since watching the 'truth about food' (I think) where they went to the factory, I'm tempted to try it.

Just totally embarrised dd1 in Sainsburys! What fun. Put through 5 separate transactions! £11.50 in points. I got 2 brollies for christmas presents, and some nivea face cream for me, which at £9 is about the most money I have ever spent on a small jar of cosmetic stuff. It had better sort my terribly wrinkly skin out. There was not one sign up saying it was scan and win either, so lots of huffs and glares as I held up the queue. While dd tried to sink into the floor. Went to the tip too.

AutumnLeaves12 · 28/10/2018 15:48

Ye need more Quorn with that jam. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/10/2018 15:53

Nice one Jam

You can’t frighten me with food. I like soft cod roe on toast. Which is fish semen.

Christmas is coming though Quite. I would find life pretty miserable without a daily latte. Coffees my treat too, no drinking or smoking here either.

WreckTangled · 28/10/2018 16:15

Do I sieve the flour?

WereWolfcub · 28/10/2018 16:20

Wreck no don’t bother

My dm has been away for two weeks so this morning I sorted her laundry & washed & hung it out, did kitchen surfaces & floors downstairs & filled their fuel up. It'll be nice for her to come back to a clean house and I wanted to show my appreciation to df for dinner today & yesterday and for Christmas money.
Unfortunately handle of mop snapped on me so df will need to swap heads with the other mop.

Got lots of compliments on my new clothes.

H has been compliant this weekend too after a blip last night.

North tree skirt looks fabulous
Girlie I'm bemused by your debacle with the chair and wondering if em's dh will have same trouble with cot WinkGrin

I've found a warm jacket from my sisters school days which needs a new zip but can not locate my good coat at all, I would've loved it yesterday at funeral Sad

I'm not very crafty either but thinking bunting would make a nice change to our Christmas decorations & put my own little stamp on it.

Going to try unescorted method for Yorkshire puddings next time

Jam loved your quorn post Grin

Justanothermile · 28/10/2018 16:24

He he, I like teasing fluffy

Justanothermile · 28/10/2018 16:25

That was kind mammy, and will be appreciated for sure.

ememem84 · 28/10/2018 16:45

I can’t eat quorn it makes me 💨

We are in. Catface is settled in the downstairs loo. She’s come out a bit then ds chased her back. She’s eaten and used her box so she’s ok.

Dh isn’t lording it too much. For now.

Ds has discovered the bar stools the previous owner left, and they go round and round and up and down. He thinks these are awesome.
He’s also discovered the oven. It has a mirrored surface on its door. So he’s enjoyed looking at himself and also pressing buttons...must quash this habit soon.

Our my new washer and dryer work wonderfully. And it’s so nice to have them in the garage. No washer noise in the house!!! Yay!! And I don’t have to go outside to use it! Wahooo

thistimenextsummer · 28/10/2018 16:54

Not very crafty here either. This is my first ever attempt at increasing and decreasing knitting. Yup. Just a lot of random holes 😬

WreckTangled · 28/10/2018 17:13

Well the mixture was lumpy and I realised I only have a cupcake tray not a muffin one so I suspect they'll be a disaster 🤣

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/10/2018 17:46

I use electric hand beaters and a pinch of cream of tartar. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I bloody hate cooking though.
