It's not great is it Em? Two feet of work top isn't enough to have place for clean stuff and grubby stuff, so I was constantly chasing my tail washing up and cleaning and starting again. Round and round and round.

Being back at home in my relatively small kitchen feels quite luxurious now. Admittedly I do like having not too huge a kitchen, as it is really easy to keep it tidy. LOL!

Unescorted · 28/10/2018 07:27

Morning peeps. I appear to have made a recovery.

Autumn there is more kitchen space in a tent. Bonkers indeed.
Em where did you end up staying last night and have you got a camera for the picture of your dh carrying a full for up the street. You can imagine the thread from the neighbours..the new people who have moved in are mock shock horror walking their most definitely not a carry cot up our street. Shall I call 111 and report it or not out and offer to buy one delivered?

WereWolfcub · 28/10/2018 07:34

Morning all

Autumn that’s a very small kitchen indeed

Em hope you got some sleep and dh is up for some hard work today!

Unescorted glad you are feeling better

unescorted stayed with dparents last night. Dh and I had a chat. And have I think sorted everything out.

I’m still in bed as was up until 3 - migraine yay! And then ds woke at 5. Yayayay! Dh has suggested I go back to bed until 10. And he’ll sort stuff out around me.

I’ve cancelled my riding lesson this morning. Too much to do, still feeling a bit funny after migraine and raining.

Still no idea how Dh will get ds’ cot to the new house. The obvious thing is to ask ddad for help. It will fit in his car. His car is here. He is here. But Dh doesn’t want them helping us. So. It’s a conundrum. But not one for me to solve.

Just remembered an invoice I need to pay for the drain survey £250. They sent us a full report and a video. Yuk. Have emailed the guy and said I’ll sort it tomorrow.

Unescorted · 28/10/2018 07:39

How are you wolf ? I hope your evening improved and if not come over to our side ...it is sunny today. Ignore the mess and you and your DS can have tea at ours..... you can behold the sight of a loved up and hung over teenaged girl. Should be good for a laugh.

AutumnLeaves12 · 28/10/2018 07:41

Thanks, I'm glad it's not just me. I looked online, and here is a photo of the actual kitchen thing. It was an all-in-one unit bought to slot into the corner of a bedsit.

It's quite clever really. Sink at one end, fridge and hotplate at the other. And a little bit of worktop, microwave and two drawers in the middle.

I also had a shelf sticking out of the wall exactly where my head was meant to be while standing at the sink, but no other surfaces or storage.

I'm here lovely cag, it's been a touch manic here so not had chance to post, absolutely nothing exciting or worrying, just a lot of boring life stuff happening at once. I will later post though.

I've only briefly read the thread a couple of times this week.

Hope everyone is okay.

Unescorted · 28/10/2018 07:43

em it is good to chat. Could a compromise be that you borrow you dad's car. That way he wouldn't strictly be helping your dh. Your dad would be helping you because it gives your dh more time to assemble the cot and therefore bless stress at bed time if it weren't done?

AutumnLeaves12 · 28/10/2018 07:43

Btw, dh is measurably still intact after losing his fight with the shelf above the sink. I should probably check that that that is healing up. #Yikes

Unescorted · 28/10/2018 07:47

autumn there are some really well thought out ones of those all in one units. That is at the cheap and cheerful end of the spectrum. I feel for you.

AutumnLeaves12 · 28/10/2018 07:55

LOL! Unescorted it's good to know that they can be better then. At least that one must be better now that they have fixed the sink so that the water doesn't pour straight into the electrics. #bzort

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/10/2018 07:57

Morning all clocks going back is going to make it a really long day!

I don't get your dhs logic em your parents help you out loads, they've let you all live with them plus looking after ds regularly. Why is helping you move any different? ! Your mum and dad must be a bit confused as well!

Today's plan is to pick up an arm chair I've bought via fb for £20. I had a look ystd and it's really nice, as new really and will be great to have another seat in the living room. Will require borrowing my mum's car as it won't fit in mine (take note ems dh 😉)

This afternoon we're going to watch bohemian rhapsody, will go to a local cheaper cinema rather than the odeon which is extortionate!

WereWolfcub · 28/10/2018 08:00

Girlie if you have your blue light card you can save on odeon tickets, just in case there’s ever something on there that you want to see that isn’t on at your local

autumn it's tricky with the clubs as dd already does tennis and riding and is knackered after school plus has quite a bit of homework. Will have a think though as I know one of the club's I went to as a teenager was massively important in helping me socially.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/10/2018 08:04

Blue light card wolf?

WereWolfcub · 28/10/2018 08:09

Girlie, discount card for nhs and Emergency services. Costs about £5 for 5 years and has discounts for lots of useful things including joules, new look, places to eat out, car bits, things to do etc. You have to apply from your work emails address as they do a back check to make sure you qualify

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/10/2018 08:19

Oooh that sounds good wolf will have a look!

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/10/2018 08:40

YY girlie blue light is defo worth it. £32 Aldi on some special buys for birthday presents and a Christmas duvet set for DH and i

AutumnLeaves12 · 28/10/2018 08:46

Gosh! She must be busy then Girlie. Well done her.

I have chosen three new tunes for Grade 2 clarinet to look forward to, so I can pass Grade 1 with a clear conscience. (I'd better get practising).

mammynowanauntyIRL · 28/10/2018 08:51

Morning everyone
€14.99 yesterday on a knex set for ds from Santa reduced to half price

€8 on a drink for my sis & soda water & lime for me

ememem84 · 28/10/2018 09:25

Dh is showering and then we’re all going to watch him try and put ds’ dismantled Cot in our car. I know it won’t fit I tried when I moved it here. Dparents know it won’t fit as they put it on dads car for me. Dh is adamant it will. This should be good for a laugh. Ddad has offered his car in case it doesn’t fit. Dh has accepted.

(To be fair to dh the cot would fit in our car with all seats (including drivers) flat...but then it’s not really practical for moving)

ememem84 · 28/10/2018 09:26

Just cleared my new rug through customs. Yay. It should arrive at dparents tomorrow.

WereWolfcub · 28/10/2018 09:28

Em that sounds like a fun activity, I would pay to be a fly on your parent’s porch to watch that. I’d be bloody annoyed if it fitted though as he will be smug

OP posts:
Unescorted · 28/10/2018 09:36

Haha! He will won't be.

LonelyOversharer · 28/10/2018 09:56

Morning all. I am so very achy! Contemplating getting up and making some yummy breakfast out of 2 packs of croissant dough, bought on offer. It's those wonderful cardboard tubes which sort of explode when you open them. Thinking chocolate and cinammon for the two batches.

I'm going to the tip today. Probably twice.

How is smuggy smugface (or not!) getting along em ??
