Hey Lonely, it’s lovely to see you. Much love to you too, sorry to hear you are having s shitty week. Flowers

Cagliostro · 05/10/2018 20:29

Oh no lonely why shitty?

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/10/2018 20:41

Hey lonely.

CurlsandCurves · 05/10/2018 22:04

Hi lonely feel free to share, just like your username! There’s always a listening ear here.

wreck those boots are gorgeous! Go for it if you need them. I know were supposed to be all about frugality but if you want them and can afford them, do it! They look classic and timeless so you’ll definitely get your use out of them. I’m tempted....

ibuiltahomeforyou · 05/10/2018 22:41

NSD here for me but I'm meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow - haven't seen her since March though so I'm looking forward to catching up.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/10/2018 23:30

I'm in bed, had a nice evening out catching up with (all the gossip) everyone from work. The food took nearly 2 hours to arrive though so a few of my colleagues kicked off and it resulted in getting 50% knocked off the bill and a load of free drinks! My meal was salmon and only cost me £5 in the end. Spent £4 ish on drinks.

All in all a good night for less than a tenner.

ChristmasSeacow · 06/10/2018 01:38

Hey Lonely, hope you’re okay!

Dd has been unwell today - running a high temperature and sleeping a lot. She’s hardly eaten. DS seemed his usual self till 10pm when it became clear he’d caught the class vomiting bug. Hideous. 3 complete changes of bedding later and I’m still up now doing laundry - nuff said. Dd hasn’t been sick yet and I’m really hoping she doesn’t get this as she’s quite slight and can’t really afford to lose weight Confused

Am off to read some happy Christmassy threads to distract myself!

SummerDaize · 06/10/2018 01:50

Sorry to hear that Christmas. One of ds's friends went home looking distinctly off-colour today too. I hope it goes over quickly for you.

Bornlazy · 06/10/2018 06:10

Aww Sea you have my sympathies those vomiting bugs are just the worst!! Hope ds is better soon and that dd doesn’t catch it. Changing sheets during the night time is soul destroying.

Girlie glad you’re first day back went well and good frugal win on the cheap meal.

em that’s so disappointing for you - fingers crossed it works out next week.

Lonely sorry you’re having a shit time Flowers

Nsd yesterday and the day before as I was working. Need to go food shopping today 😩🙈 might just do Tesco delivery for tomorrow if I can’t face it.

ChristmasSeacow · 06/10/2018 06:57

Ha ha Born, it was good exercise at least! School mums say this lasts between 24 and 48 hours. I’ve been half expecting it as it’s going through his whole class.

He’s been incredibly thirsty and that’s been really difficult as he’s been crying for half the night about being thirsty but I can only give him a few sips of water at a time. I had to stay up with him for a couple of hours till he fell asleep to make sure he didn’t go and have a huge drink as he’d already tried that and it had been a bad idea... he’s now up and very hungry /thirsty. So I’m on guard again. He’s had a Rich Tea biscuit, woop woop!

Washing machine’s on again. Today is one of those days where I’m really glad to have a dryer! It’s meant to be raining here all day. I’m meant to be going to real life shops (a very rare occurrence for me!) without children (also a rare occurrence!) to buy some work shoes that I can walk in. And maybe a pair of trousers. I think I’ll have to see how the next couple of hours go. I don’t really feel like a noisy shopping mall now but I don’t know when else I could go.

Oh, DD wants a story...

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/10/2018 06:59

Urg night time vomit bugs are the pits. Not much better during the day like.

Not much sleep her but that was because of giggling girls.

Wolfcub · 06/10/2018 07:11

Life hope dd is enjoying her (I assume birthday) sleepover, an afternoon nap might be on the cards for you

Sea I hope ds and baby dd start to feel better soon and dd avoids this completely. Perhaps an afternoon nap for you too

Morning all. Happy frugal Saturday.

Ds has an activity this morning so I need to get out of bed as we both need to shower and I’m burning time already! Haircut for me £40. I think we might have a dvd afternoon and be a bit lazy. I need to pick something up from dparents but I cannot remember what it is!

Wolfcub · 06/10/2018 07:12

Girlie glad you had a good and frugal night out.
Born well done on the NSD

ememem84 · 06/10/2018 07:34

Morning all

sea I hope dd doesn’t get it and you get your time out today xx hope ds feels better soon

life hope you survived the sleepover!!!

lonely hope you’re ok xxx

£30 riding today. Then no plans. It’s meant to be raining here all day too so may be a good day for cleaning stuff out. But I feel bad not doing anything with ds.

Must get up. He’s awake and dh has him downstairs making breakfast.

Maybe another 20 minutes...

WreckTangled · 06/10/2018 07:51

Oh no sea sick bugs are the worse. Touch wood we've been clear for five years now.

Em enjoy some peace in bed!

I'm in trouble with ds this morning because I haven't made his overnight oats Hmm

I got the boots! From very. They're being delivered to the collect plus place today. I could go and get them but I drive past it on my way to work so to save fuel I should wait.

Lovemaltesers · 06/10/2018 08:11

Thanks seacow. Urrgh to the overnight sickness.
Hope DD doesn't get it.

Glad you had a good night girlie.

em you are coming across remarkably chilled all things considered!

Lots to do this weekend with various visits and taking DD2 to a party. I also have about a days studying to fit in too. Better get out of bed and face it all!

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/10/2018 08:11

Ibuilt That sounds lovely. Set menu?

Dh had us up at 6am to watch the qualifying F1 session. Big Max fan, in a maternal way.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 06/10/2018 08:19

Just caught up but mind is too busy to comment on everyone's posts Hmm sorry guys

Yesterday I sent off form for single parents tax credit, it should mean a refund cheque for me & my tax band @ 20% will increase by an extra €4K & a reduction in tax I pay each week. Only one parent can claim it. The dc live with me so I got in there first, hopefully!
Also booking.com sent me the link for my refund €1230.70 will be in my account in next 5 days Grin instant pot will be bought when there's next a discount code for it Grin
Spends to catch up on €3 thurs on raffle tickets @ cancer charity fundraiser, I also donated strawberry cheesecake
Fri €5 on lunch at deli counter, €20 horse riding, €8 washing duvet in one of those kerbside washing machines, €12.75 on 3 for €10 meats & 2 kinder eggs for dc (I wanted change for washing machine, then discovered it took card Blush)
Felt a bit guilty spending €10 on 3 chicken kebabs, 12 homemade goujons & 8 massive meatballs initially but afterwards thought it's was one meal for all 3 of us, lunch for dd another day, and 2 dinners for me and a takeaway would've cost twice that!

H put €153 less in joint account this week, no idea why so gotta keep a tight rein at it. Dc have 5 children's birthdays next weekend so gotta buy presents for them today & going to buy some clothes in Debenhams sale today too.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 06/10/2018 08:21

He also brought au pairs car for nct & didn't put it through joint acc whatever he's playing at there I don't know. It passed on second go, must find out bill from mechanic

northender · 06/10/2018 08:39

Girlie great result, cheap meal!
Hope ds is better today Seacow, I hate clearing up after sickness bugs, luckily (she says touching wood) we haven't had any here for at least 8 years.
Hope the boots live up to your expectations wreck. I like the look of them but struggle with boots & will until I've lost more weight I think.
Presentation night was okay. Spent £27 in total which included food, drinks & raffle tickets for me & ds. I came back with a bottle of wine and a tub of Heroes from the raffle.
Today is German student's birthday. Dh ended up in charge of an unplanned 4 girl sleepover last night!! I don't think it was too bad, they came back here and made themselves macaroni cheese! So today I think the plan is to go out for lunch and then Christmas displays and crazy golf at our local garden centre (which has less and less to do with gardening as time goes on). Dd's friend's mum is a friend of mine so we can keep each other company.
Going to a 25th wedding anniversary party tonight. There's a group of 10 of us going, looking forward to it.
Have a good weekend everyone.

CurlsandCurves · 06/10/2018 10:12

mammy €153, what an odd number, wonder what he’s playing at. Keep your wits about you.

I’m in a Fitbit Weekend Warrior challenge and it’s bucketing it down outside. But as they say, no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing. So I’m going to get my waterproof coat on and get out there. Sigh...

SummerDaize · 06/10/2018 10:45

...or swimming costume.

ememem84 · 06/10/2018 10:56

Have just seen that nsandi have transferred my initial investment back to me. Because they sent my due diligence back claiming it didn’t have a valid telephone number on it. It did. Ffs. Have resent the docs and will wait for them to sort things out. I’m not sure whether I can call them today or not. Must check that. If so I’ll ring. If not Monday. I also want to change any winners I get to go into my Lloyd’s account. So must sort all that once activated. Have added this to my list.

Have spent the last half hour doing life admin. Shredding paperwork, filing emails, putting washing on and have cleaned bathroom. Dm watched me do it and will no doubt do it again while I’m out....

My new eyeshadow pallet arrived. Oh it’s a beaut. Urban decay born to run. Had a play with it but opted for fairly neutral face today as it’s bucketing down and I’m going riding.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 06/10/2018 11:32

Curves if it's a grocery shop/money to mechanic he should use joint account card to make it more transparent

€237.90 on Debenhams for dc for Christmas including 2 Christmas jumpers & many outfits each used topcashback but it probably won't go through because of 10% off code used. Topcashback is 3.03%. Had €200 saved up so it's not too bad.

Bornlazy · 06/10/2018 12:10

mammy you might be ok I’m in the process of doing a Debenhams order ( need to go and get my new debit card and too lazy to get off my arse) through Quidco and they are recognising the code as I think it comes direct from Debenhams.

Have spent hours this morning on the internet and I am not even dressed yet Blush I am putting the iPad down and going to start on the cleaning - both the house and me 😂
