Fabulous spelling test result wreck.

The soup is good, I found it originally on Pinterest but the website is completely worth looking at.

Oh mammy, life must be strange and stressful to say the least. There’s a ton of us that you can pm if you need, we’ve all got your back.

Oh girlie, I’m sorry your still not well enough for work. Totally frustrating.

Ocado and Sainsbury’s have delivered, DS was in, I was at work.

The outfit sounds good em, animal print is everywhere this season isn’t it? I’ve some stuff on order from M&S, need to try it all on before I post spends.

Bornlazy · 12/09/2018 15:53

Phoned my bank today as I still hadn't received my debit card, turns out they hadn't ordered me a replacement Shock I made a complaint and they gave me £60 compensation. It has been a huge inconvenience and I won't be able to use my new card for about four days until I get a new pin. It's amazing how I'm still managing to spend money.....

WreckTangled · 12/09/2018 15:57

Mammy sorry things are so stressful for you

I bought dd some sandals in the sale hoping they'll fit next summer but they're damaged so will have to send them back, wait for a refund and hope they've still got them in stock when I get it Angry

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/09/2018 16:01

Gotta love a bit of compo though Born. Pays for your instant pot?.

I thought you'd been waiting a while, I've lost mine and requested a new one sunday night online. it arrived Tuesday morning.

Thatsnotmybookworm · 12/09/2018 16:16

I also had a great sleep last night as I went to bed very early and I really need to make that a regular thing.
Spends today:
£2 work canteen
£4 Boots on shampoo
£11 Tesco on cot bed sheets and a discounted PJ Masks toy that will be put away for Christmas.

SummerDaize · 12/09/2018 16:23

I've been very well behaved today and flaked out asleep while ds was at school so as to try to be a useful citizen tomorrow.

Also ds thinks he will attempt the piano pre-prep test this autumn, and I have agreed to do it too, so that will be interesting. That means I have four very easy tunes that I've to play over and over again on the piano for the next three months until we can play them in our dreams. The hope being that ds will catch them too.

ChristmasSeacow · 12/09/2018 16:24

Shit, I turned my back for a couple of minutes and found DD kneeling up on the dining table, soaked through, playing with DS’s letter tiles. She’d knocked his drink all over herself on her way up. God knows how I can stop her from climbing, she’ll climb up anything. She was standing up on her activity table the other day. I guess I’ll get even less done as I literally can’t leave her alone Confused

No food spends (miracle!) but I did order 2 plain colourful hoodies for DS in bigger sizes, and a dragonfly embroidered cushion for £1.17 I think it was, from M&S online. And then had £5 mysteriously taken off my basket at checkout . So about £17 all in, bargainous indeed!

ChristmasSeacow · 12/09/2018 16:27

Ffs, just found her up on DS’s bed. That was literally in one minute 😬😬😬😬😬

Bornlazy · 12/09/2018 16:30

Yeah it does Fluffy. She asked me what kind of compensation I was looking for and I had no idea what to say. She refunded the cost of my telephone call too. I was very impressed with the service.

SummerDaize · 12/09/2018 16:32

We had this phase at 18 month Christmas and it was by far the most difficult bit. It was climbing up onto the kitchen worktop that was the worst, because that gave access to the tap, the kettle, the sharp knives, the hob and all the dangerous chemicals.

The thing that worked for me was to go on holiday to the grandparents for three weeks. Ds spent that time exploring the floor of their house and by the time we came back he has lost interest in climbing. You have school commitments though don't you? I wonder if there is any way to make the floor of your own house fascinating?

Wolfcub · 12/09/2018 16:36

Oh wow Christmas she’s certainly keeping you on your toes.
Em the danish looked lovely, well done on getting all the jobs done
Mammy sorry he’s being a wanker, as JAM said we are all here for you and I think not doing the food shopping is sensible in these circumstances

ChristmasSeacow · 12/09/2018 17:17

I’m sorry Mammy, it all sounds a bit grim for you at the mo. It will be so wonderful once you are finally in your own place with the DCs.

Ha ha Summer, I fear the only way to make my floor more interesting is to scatter all the contraband on it. So she can still stab /choke /paint herself but at least she wouldn’t fall in the process Confused. I think I’ll have to stick with the vigilance but see whether Dm is willing to pay us a few visits so I can get stuff done. I’m supposed to be job hunting, for one thing!

In shallow fashion news, look at the lovely wellies the aunties bought for dd. I want some!

I put on the fitflip Boots I bought last winter and hardly wore and remembered why... they really are too small for me. I bought them because of the plantar fasciitis and they are super comfy on the soles but too blardy small! They are my usual (new, post-pregnancy bigger) size but I think very small fitting. I’m going to have to give them to DSis and buy new ones ASAP. Gah.

That sounds busy and stressful @christmasSeacow; is it too late to introduce a playpen, even for short periods? Has she any interest in TV yet? DS wasn't a climber at all so I've never experienced this.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/09/2018 17:31

Our weekly amount to transfer to joint account is €400, H has just transferred €170 this afternoon, not sure he plans on transferring the other €230 or not. I'm not up to date on thread will read everyone else's posts later. I'm still not going to say a word about it.

ChristmasSeacow · 12/09/2018 17:38

What a dick Mammy Angry

CurlsandCurves · 12/09/2018 17:40

Ooh, christmas I remember that phase well. I needed to nip to the garage for something. In the time it took me to open the front door and walk past the living room window, DS1 had found something to stand on and climbed up onto the windowsill!

Had to buy a loaf and milk. But I usually need to every 2 days or so anyway so I’m still calling it a NSD.

Think I’m coming down with something. Head feels fuzzy, sniffly nose and I feel like I could sleep standing up. I was going to go for a walk to get some exercise but I don’t think I’ve got the energy. Early night for me.

ChristmasSeacow · 12/09/2018 17:49

Sadly I think it is too late for a playpen That’s. She’s a very determined young lady. I think we’re going to have to sweep the whole house and try to put all temptation out of sight.

She got back up on the dining table earlier in the less-than-a-minute it took me to tip some pasta in the pan and pour kettle water on it. I was in the same room and saw nothing until she was sat right up there. The only time I can relax in when she’s strapped into her high chair, like now! This is doing my blood pressure no good Shock

SummerDaize · 12/09/2018 18:47

I remember it well Christmas. Look after yourself there. It's a tough job.

QuitelovesStrictly · 12/09/2018 18:50

Sea
I had a playpen for mine until they were 2.5 and you can get tall stairgates for the kitchen (unless open plan)
Absolutely non negotiable that mine couldnt access the kitchen, all toxic stuff locked away behind childproof locks.
I also strapped mine into a highchair with a few snacks like cheerios to keep them occupied if something was dangerous /involved.

em you sound better ? and that you have your mojo back.
Enjoy choosing all the new stuff for your new house.
Oh mammyIm sorry your DH is being an arse .What sort of man would deprive his DC to score points Angry
NSD for me .
Anothe Christmas present arrived today.
Its for DD and was handmade Smile

LonelyOversharer · 12/09/2018 18:58

seacow you have yourself a spirited clever girl. Good luck! I bet she looks at you angelically, with a wide eyed "what mummy?" when you find her. My only advice is teach her: how to stand on chairs and hold on, how to come down stairs safely...dd3 was a nightmare. I gave up, got rid of the baby gates (she'd pile stuff up to try to climb over them), and taught her to do stairs. Plus side was not having to carry a heavy baby up and down all the time. And yes, top shelf for knives (in a clip lock box)!

Aldi after work £21 dog food, bread etc.
Ebay posting £26 but covered by buyers.
£60 solicitor fee for mortgage.

He's such a twat mammy like you need reminding why you're splitting up.

Tea was ready (again) when I got in. Dp seems to be hitting his stride. His new ad's have kicked in. He's much easier to be around just now!

Bornlazy · 12/09/2018 20:10

Sea I used to sometimes strap mine into their buggy if I had to do something that required my attention, although I don't remember them climbing like that. Fingers crossed once she's walking confidently that she grows out of it.

ememem84 · 12/09/2018 20:14

quite yes feeling better thanks. I do think I probably could have survived work on Monday but definetly made the right choice not going in.

Mojo is definetly back. Ate a whole bunch of frogs today.

Appointment with bank on Monday re new accounts 1.89% interest on a saving account for ds. No brainier really.

Dm has made another quiche. And some coleslaw for lunch tomorrow. Yippee.

QuitelovesStrictly · 12/09/2018 20:33

Nice that your DM is doing your lunchGrin
Is that homemade coleslaw ?Envy

Am watching SWFL
Again another family that as my Gma would say "dont look all that"but 24K on CC on everyday stuff Confused
But I like them, they seem to have got it already.

ememem84 · 12/09/2018 20:35

Yep. Red cabbage, onion, grated carrot mayo salt pepper. Yummo.

ememem84 · 12/09/2018 20:37

Not allowed to watch swfl here. Ddad s watching something about lifeboats and is commentating at how rubbish the life boat people are.

Guess who was lifeboat crew as well as fire officer....
