I'm a good cook and my cakes taste good but are never much to look at!

Justanothermile · 20/09/2018 17:46

I haven't got the patience for the intricate details for baking, that's why I do a lot of tray bakesGrin

LonelyOversharer · 20/09/2018 18:18

sea those look amazing!! You're better at the decorating melarky than me. You should totally start a wee cake business. Especially in your area where people who are time and skill poor will pay decent money for special things.

I fell off the thread last night, just had to read back 4 pages!

Yesterday was just a chippy tea £16 after "meet the teachers" evening, and £6 on milk and cookies.
Today was £7 in the post office, but the money is in my paypal for that. Another 8 parcels to go tomorrow.

Today is my last day of my 3 month trial! I've been full time 3 months already. So, I signed my contract last month and gave it back. No one has said anything, so I'm just going to keep going to work. To be fair the owner has given me jobs for "when we're quiet" in the winter. So I guess I'm staying.

Loads to do tonight, I'd better get on...

Wolf Can the be repaired?.

£5 refund from superdrug for foundation.

£16 sains, big stock up shop.
£5 aldi
£6 lidl
£4 foundation.

Wolfcub · 20/09/2018 18:56

Fluffy sadly not it’s the fabric of them that’s soaked through. It’s not the first time they’ve got wet but they are properly water logged. The last pair (exactly the same) died in similar circumstances. I may have to invest in leather ones

Oh fab lonely can’t believe it’s 3 months already!

SummerDaize · 20/09/2018 19:26

He took it very well actually Girlie and the raspberry magnum lolly and half a bottle of sprite that I gave him seemed to settle the issue entirely. Must glue the phone to my forehead next time I decide to just shut my eyes for a minute. I had the alarm set as usual but it was in my pocket.

Lovemaltesers · 20/09/2018 19:46

Sounds like you needed that snooze summer Smile

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 20/09/2018 20:00

I had a panicked phone call from a friend once who was at work miles away as her husband hadn't picked the kids up from after school club. Turned out he was fast asleep on the sofa, by the time I got to the school he had also arrived and was getting heavily berated by the after school club lady 😂

I had a productive few hours and made a chicken casserole, (used a packet mix that was about a year out of date 😐) it tasted delicious! I should make it more often really.

Also made a chocolate cake tray bake which was also delicious and dd and I are both stuffed now!!

Justanothermile · 20/09/2018 20:06

Roast sweet potato dhal. The recipe makes a shed load, it's frugal for sure.

I've opened a bottle of red, it's chucking it down, it felt like a night to have a glass of red.

DH is now annoying me. He had a long drive today and was clearly bored, so phoned for a chat. About every 15 minutes. He's now in his hotel, still clearly bored and so still phoning for a chatGrin

Justanothermile · 20/09/2018 20:11

I had enough dahl left over for lunch tomorrow or some more later (as I had such a small portion at dinner) but dh came home from work and put the whole lot in a bowl, reheated it and then left half Angry

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/09/2018 20:33

mammynowanauntyIRL · 20/09/2018 20:47

Wreck that used to make my blood boil especially when I didn't discover until the following morn & was out of time to make an alternative.

Jam I'm making that curry at the weekend, turns out I didn't have lentils after all.

I want a soup maker or instant pot when I'm in next house, my blender doesn't make nice soup. Am I best going for a cheapie stick blender or a pricier one in the interim? Discuss....

Myself & dc are all curled up in bed. I can't hear them talking so I'll take that as a good sign.

WreckTangled · 20/09/2018 20:49

My blender doesn't make nice soup either. Plus it leaks because dh put it in the dw Hmm

ememem84 · 20/09/2018 21:23

Ffs. Ds has only just gone to sleep. We put him to bed at 7

ememem84 · 20/09/2018 21:26

HE cried pretty solidly. Until I managed to calm him down (teething/development phase/overtired/storm...) then ddad came up so sit in the room with us and ds got excited and cried more because I would t let him play with grandad. #meanmummy

I had to ask ddad to go away. And feel awful for doing that but he wasn’t helping.

I’m in with ds tonight. When he’s like that (which tends to be at the start of a phase - thanks wonderweeks...!) he seems to need the comfort of someone in with him.
I’m in bed now. Catface is settled on bed with me. Ds asleep in the cot at the end of the bed.

Wrongwayup · 20/09/2018 21:29

nsd but only as I'm ill. Watching scrappy tv. Should say crappy but scrappy also about right just until I can let the dog out and go to bed. Luckily not working tomorrow though that does mean I'm ill on my own time. Meant to be riding tomorrow but given the weather.......

Wolfcub · 21/09/2018 02:49

Can’t sleep here. The wind is quite frighteningly bad. I will be surprised if I have a garden left in the morning and possibly a roof ! Eek

We got it late last night wolf. One of my Sheffield staff was worried about flooding and our London team ended up in a hotel last night as the trains were a nightmare.

SummerDaize · 21/09/2018 07:27

I had a great sleep last night. I'm definitely sold on these clarinet lessons.

Wolfcub · 21/09/2018 07:27

There’s a Joules code on Fb £20 off an £80 spend

Keep safe out there everyone, it's pretty wild! We just had torrential rain last night, the wind eased.

CurlsandCurves · 21/09/2018 08:08

Quick question, who is the mortgage broker that everyone recommends on here? Can’t remember.

We we’re going to remortgage our buy to let’s.
Been turned down by the people we have our residential mortgage with as we don’t earn enough on paper. We have to have a minimum income to even get through the door with them.
