£38 to be made from dh’s old iPhone on music magpie. Not bad.

We’re going to the park when Ds wakes up.

Bornlazy · 16/09/2018 10:32

em your dm sounds very like mine. It is infuriating! My dh is basically a good guy who does more around the house than my df every did so she can’t see what the problem is. Living together would test us to the limit.

Should be a nsd. I have started to tentatively buy some Christmas presents when I see a bargain. Some people might be getting soup makers 😂😂😂

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/09/2018 10:36

Ooh that cake looks good, I don't do great with mug cakes though.

Em even though it's great of your parents to accommodate ye it comes at a price Smile

Girlie I got cranky with ds the other evening too cos I was sick & he was wearing me down, it happens, but it's good that they feel that safety with us too.

Wreck it does sound like they're not working if changing batteries didn't help.

I'm thinking I might not even get dressed today, my heads still stuffed up.

H took car for mot so I could stay in bed, but actually he stayed in bed then got up took a leisurely shower and ate breakfast and f*cked off to town while dc came in to me at 7am I got up with them at 9am made their breakfast, made ds less naked, put on underwear Grin and cooked up turkey taco mince for myself & put it in slow cooker.

Maybe flapjacks might be made today or syrup pudding

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/09/2018 10:43

What's lonely's flapjack recipe?
Have soupdragons but don't have condensed milk!

Wreck you make flapjacks too don't you?

Born when I gave out about h destroying my clothes by washing blacks with whites or putting stuff into dryer that shouldn't go in (still f*cking doing this) dm would say sure your father wouldn't even know what to do with washing machine & you're lucky. I'm not lucky he's destroying my clothes, my only nice skinny jeans were put into dryer, I don't think I'll ever be slim enough for the shrinking they got

WreckTangled · 16/09/2018 10:47

I use soup dragons recipe mammy

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/09/2018 10:52

Ok will check baking press again in case there's condensed milk lurking

ememem84 · 16/09/2018 10:54

One load of washing done and hung outside. Second in the washing machine.

Ds still napping.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/09/2018 11:01

I've got caramel concentrated milk could I use this instead?

WreckTangled · 16/09/2018 11:01

Just walked my dc over the road for a party. Dd being a misery guts and ran home and then ds decided he would do the same. I'm so embarrassed they're being so horrible at the moment

WreckTangled · 16/09/2018 11:02

Mammy I would but without adding sugar and maybe add some mashed banana. Mmm it'll be like a banoffee flap jack

Unescorted · 16/09/2018 11:02

wolf call in. I am having a mooch around the kitchen day. And the weather is foul this morning. Wet and breezy... Not a great combo for being out in. Much better being here with walnut and fennel biscotti and coffee. You can admire the weedy garden and my poor house keeping standards.

Mammy take care.

Cagliostro · 16/09/2018 11:12

Oh no wreck what’s brought that on do you think? Hate moments like that. 💐

Bornlazy · 16/09/2018 11:18

Mammy when I first moved in with dh my dm was astounded that he hung a washing out Hmm I used to ask her if she would wish the life she had on me and she would agree that no she wouldn’t but yet couldn’t see that the only way to avoid that was to not be a martyr and to ensure that dh did his share. She used to tell people that I was good in that I wasn’t going to be like her but that I’d taken it too far the other way 🙄

Flapjacks with caramelised condensed milk sound amazing 😍

Bornlazy · 16/09/2018 11:22

Lonely’s recipe for flapjacks ( I tried to blackout the rest of posts as it felt wrong to keep them in the picture 🙈)

Cag dd has never wanted to go and ds is quite nervous so once dd bolted he copied her

Bornlazy · 16/09/2018 11:43

Wreck both my ds used to mortify me at parties they never wanted to go, would spend the first hour refusing to participate in anything and then five minutes before we were due to leave would suddenly start to really enjoy it and not want to go home.

WreckTangled · 16/09/2018 11:57

I would have let dd say no to the invite but it's our neighbours so would have been so rude. As it is she's in her bedroom sulking and dh has gone to the party with ds. I've lit some candles and am tidying. Crying when telling the dc off wasn't my finest moment Blush

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/09/2018 12:06

Here is lonely's flapjack

LonelyOversharer · 16/09/2018 12:07

I've put all misery guts dc down to back to school stress/tiredness this week. Doesn't make it any easier though! My girls had a very odd totally out of character fun fight last night. Much laughing and rough and tumble. I just waited for it all to go horribly wrong!

We had no yoghurt in the house, so went to Morrisons early this morning. £50 later I realise I'm spending for spendings sake again Sad

Going to watch the Singapore Grand Prix now. It's one of the best places I've ever been to, just watching it on the telly you can almost feel the humidity and that special Singapore smell. Sometimes I feel such an odd homesick longing for my old life (before dc) and I feel so disloyal for feeling like that.

ChristmasSeacow · 16/09/2018 12:07

Do it Mammy , I bet it’s lush.

Gah. Dd has had a cold for the last couple of days (and has been hard work as a result) and now I have it. Runny nose, sore throat etc. Feel rough. And very tired!

I’ve got a day of cooking and housework ahead. I’ve done 2 loads of washing so far (another 3 to go I think) and made a big pot of leek and potato soup. I’ve also put a joint of pork in the slow coooker with ginger and coconut cream etc - found the recipe on a slow cooker thread. Fingers crossed it comes out delish! I bought a Judith finlayson book Quite, it only arrived yesterday so missed this week’s meal plan but I’m looking forward to getting inspired next week! I might get another bigger slow cooker, and which I can sear stuff in first. I’ve decided against a soup maker for now as it really isn’t much less work using a pan - the main advantage I can see is leaving it unattended, but I am concerned the capacity would be too little for us gluttons So I’ll stick with a big pan and a wooden spoon for now. Temptation be gone!

I had a massive frugal win yesterday. I’ve not seen my nectar card for ages and was a bit worried I’d lost the points on it. I finally called up and they said my account had been suspended but they’ve reinstated it and are sending me a new card. And I’ve got £145 of points on it! Yay! Do they still do the double up?

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/09/2018 12:10

Ah we all have days when there are no fine parenting moments and the DC are bloody hard work. It will pass.

4£ in the country store. No helmet though. Will go to a different one this afternoon. Sports direct have it but would rather get it else where

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/09/2018 12:12

Yes double up is usually around November time

SnugglySnerd · 16/09/2018 12:20

Still here. Still struggling to keep up!

Cagliostro · 16/09/2018 12:25

Not disloyal at all lonely

I’m happy as I’ve found a little bit of volunteering that I can actually do WITH the Caglets. As even things like sorting stock in charity shops (which I loved doing before getting too ill to continue and had hoped maybe the Caglets could help with) are understandably 16/18+. But a home ed friends runs a little group where people can donate and take kids stuff when in need, she needs people to help set up and unpack in the halletc. Easy location too and DD really likes her daughters so will be nice as they are also there helping. It’s once a month. Yay!

LonelyOversharer · 16/09/2018 12:34

Thats fab cag keep on trucking ♥️
