Cat people WreckCat has two open wounds on the base of his neck. It started with just one and we thought he had been fighting. Not so sure now as they're just not healing so you think we should leave it a bit (they don't look infected are v clean) or take him to the vet?

Sorry to hear that Wreck. Poor cat.

Sometimes with my cat, I used to find that there could be a cut that seemed to close or to never have been there and then it opened again or seemed to open for the first time, and that meant that it was infected inside. It might be good to go and ask the vet if there's any chance that it is anything other than surface. If it's just surface then you could probably clean it with salt water and leave it for a bit. Or maybe somebody else knows better than me. I've only known one cat, and others may be different.

My cat used to fight a lot and he always got scratched because he always won the singing section of the fight and then turned his back to walk away and got it from behind. Poor chap.

In other news - today I went into town and saw a woman going home with a brand new instant pot in its box. She looked extremely pleased about it. I wondered if she was a MNer.

Justanothermile · 15/09/2018 21:38

I'm sorry about Dcat wreck, I don't know how to help, poor soul.

Sure life, there's plenty, I'll message. I'd rather it be used and useful,

mammynowanauntyIRL · 15/09/2018 21:39

Lost a post so will start again!
I lay down at 3.30 after returning from garage & only woke at 8pm, dd was very worried about me because it's out of character. Had a sausage sandwich (superquinn tayto Grin!) and am back in bed now.

Those spends sounded massive life until you mentioned bike BikeGrin

I've got Aldi jodhpurs that were never worn - navy & pink if any of the regulars dd is around 6/7 I'm happy to post, pm me.

Lonely lovely to see your dd1 has inherited your crafty ways, nice sideline for her.
Love Asda clothes too, bought loads for my dc when they were smaller, might buy for them at Christmas from there too.
Great of your garage to make that offer.

Jam I will do, I keep my phone charged and on my person as well as car keys as a precaution. I'd to look up meaning of vacuous Blush

Once ds ate the lobster that's all that matters, fine dining Grin

Decided I am buying a soup maker for my separate home but when I've got one. Will buy stick blender in interim as I'm not making/eating soup at present as blender makes soup kind of gritty & I like very smooth soup.

Seacow cake pops are ridiculously easy, I'm a good cook & average baker

Wolf what age is ds? Is he old enough to do counselling online, might help with not making counsellor feel bad as he wouldn't see them?

I'm not into gardening but my foraging in brambles last week led me to decision I want to plant some if that's possible & other fruit bushes plus plum tree & rhubarb as they've both been bountiful here without any assistance really. Not quite an orchard but a fruit garden.

I peeked at another house yesterday it's totally unsuitable as would need a lot of work to make right but has been on the market an awful long time so maybe they'd sell for less & then I could afford to put the work in. There are grants for insulation & pv solar grants etc Nice sheltered garden, couple of outhouses for fuel/bikes etc, gates etc so secure from road as it's close to road, close to work but not really great for school maybe 30 mins by car, it's 40 mins on bus now Won't post link as too outing but will show spec and a similar style house, there's another house same price, better condition, better location with a self contained granny flat so possiblity of renting out I guess but I'm just not drawn to it

There's also a beautiful cottage which has been renovated beautifully one mile from my work, too expensive & only 2 bed really it's marketed as 2/3 but third is really a living room with stairs in it so it'd be like sleeping in a corridor Grin
Will definitely be downloading the images for inspo

Em is your date drawing close?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/09/2018 21:42

It's difficult to see how deep it is wreck but I know when boycat had a smilar size cut the vet put a stitch in it....

Would you like the jodhpurs life? Dd is okay with pair she has atm.

WreckTangled · 15/09/2018 21:44

Hmm it's tricky girlie because he won't let us near it. I don't think it's very deep but it's obviously hurting so I suppose we should get it checked

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/09/2018 21:48

That's quite a big wound for a cat Wreck. I would bathe with warm salt water tonight and book in with a vet tomorrow. Cat skin is very delicate and tears much easier than human skin. Also the longer it's open the more chance of infection.

Pets at home have vets open on a sunday. I've used them when ours has injuries at the weekend.

ememem84 · 15/09/2018 22:00

£10 eye test (reduced from £45).

Also buy one get one half price frames, anti glare lenses, some magic coating on and some eye drops. My prescription has changed.

My two pairs of glasses cost as much as my one current pair. Poor credit card. But new glasses. One for work. One for Home. I checked when I got home and wouldn’t have been able to get these specific frames any cheaper. although I didn’t really technically need two pairs and it’ll be good not to have to worry if I forget a pair...

We also had a look in next (dh and ds came into town with me) dh found a wardrobe ex display for £400. Has to stop him buying it. Reminding him ex display probably means collect now and take it home. And we have nowhere to put it. It is lovely and just the thing we’re after. So I’ve suggested leave it 2 weeks (by this point we’ll have a date firmed up for moving) then go back. If it’s still there get it, they also tend to knock the ex display stuff down in price again too...) If not then it wasn’t meant to be. #sensible

Dm made fishy pie for dinner. I love her.

mammy proposed date is 5 October but I suspect it’ll be more like 19th.

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/09/2018 22:22

Wolf
Its the John Burton Race Caukiflower soup but I dont bother with truffle oil.
Sorry Im too tired to type it all out and phone keys are sticky and driving me nuts.
Ive got a cracked screen protector on and darent remove it.
emI love it that your DM has redeemed herself with fish pie .
I always have 2 pairs of glasses as I would be in real trouble if they got lost or broke.

Justanothermile · 15/09/2018 22:25

wreck hibiscrub was always an option, diluted as needed depending on wound for the pony and dogs. Just a thought. Obviously not strong depending on wound.

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/09/2018 22:27

I also type cauliflower as caukiflower if Im not wearing them 😂

Justanothermile · 15/09/2018 22:33

Grin quite.

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/09/2018 22:35

mammynowanauntyIRL · 15/09/2018 22:53

After sleeping all afternoon I'm super tired but not sleepy if that makes any sense

Wolfcub · 16/09/2018 07:36

Thank you Quite
Lousy nights sleep here. I have made and packed lunches and made sure all of ds’s kit is ready (all pressed yesterday). I really do not want to spend 8 hours outside in the wet today in Unescorted’s neck of the woods
On the plus side I made tonight’s dinner on Friday so all I have to do is boil some pasta and warm the sauce. Yay me for organisation
Have a lovely frugal Sunday lovely people

Justanothermile · 16/09/2018 07:55

Did you manage to sleep mammy? The cottage (similar I know) looks lovely.

That's a long day wolf, you'll be glad of the foods you've prepared for tea tonight.

Sorry, re the Jamie Oliver minestrone, I have done it in the SC before, just added the pasta later (depending on make of SC, mine tends to cook quickly). Plus any leafy veg like spinach if used. It works well. I find that you get extremely generous portions with the recipe, it's certainly good for the budget as you can stick any veg in really.

I'm heading off for my longest run of this training period, 22 miles. Half dreading it and half looking forward to it. Then house chores for the afternoon.

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/09/2018 08:14

My dd is 152 cm tall and in age 12-13 clothes. If that helps jam work out who it will fit.

I'm cool either way. She will be getting stuff for birthday/ Christmas off rellies so happy to be back of the q.

I can't see any photos mammy? Stay safe lovely X.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/09/2018 08:16

I would really like a tidy three bed bungalow but none around at present, will see closer to the time. This house is nicely secluded though, maybe could work in time. It always catches my eye for last number of years on that road I use sometimes.

Solicitor thinks I could get up to €65000 if house is sold.

Wolf do you have to stay there the entire day? Great to have an easy meal to come home to.

I can't post any more today life

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/09/2018 08:35

It's ok, maybe the photos might pop up later. I will go on the desktop rather than phone.

That's a decent deposit.

Going to Mole country stores today to look at riding hats.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/09/2018 08:45

That's just a guess though, and house might not be sold. I want out of here though.

Does your dd love horse riding?

I'm taking dd to a horse fair in a few weeks

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/09/2018 08:46

Laska. In the good food magazine.

ememem84 · 16/09/2018 09:04

Morning!

quite yep Dm redeemed herself. Fishy pie always works. Especially with crusty bread. And the lovely salty French butter.

Plans today - no spending. I’ve spent enough yesterday. Haha.

I need to list a few other bits on eBay. And find all my post bags.

Have to also get my paperwork organised for tomorrow’s bank meeting. Setting up a new account with Lloyd’s. As their savings rates are better than Hsbc.

Just put our towels in to wash. Dm has been on at me to clean up our room for a couple of days. I did ask her yesterday to also mention it to dh. But I’m going to get it done today. Hoover floor. Put laundry away. Etc.

But first - long shower hairwash body scrub moisturise etc.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/09/2018 09:59

Just waking up here, another disturbed night with dd coughing, I got a bit grumpy with her when she woke me up again and then felt very guilty as obviously not her fault! Not my finest mum moment 😕

Plan today is to walk the dog and thats about it, cheap activity at least!

WreckTangled · 16/09/2018 10:26

Girlie we've all been unreasonable when we've been woken in the night!

Dh is being so annoying! I told him the kitchen scales weren't working and he said just change the batteries. I've already done that. So I showed him it's under-weighing by putting a 400g tin on it and it said 360g. He said well maybe that's all it is Hmm so I put a 100g pack of chocolate chips on and it was 68g. He then says 'what we need is another set of scales just to check that it's wrong because that could be what the tin and packet actually weigh'. No you f-ing idiot I've just told you they're under weighing. I know because I've used them to make awful pancakes and I can tell (because I bake a lot) that THEY ARE UNDER WEIGHING!!!
