Totally not disloyal lonely. Being a parent is just one of the many parts of us. It's natural sometimes to feel wistful for others parts.

I'll sort out the equine stuff this afternoon and pm ladies.

Volunteering sounds good cag.

We none of us are perfect parents wreck. Be absolutely sure of that. I think sometimes that's good, I think it's a good lesson for dc to see that we get it wrong, we don't always have the answers, we screech when we should be calm etc. We are human and it's not a bad thing for them to understand this. I used to let the air settle and then go and talk to the dc, apologise if I needed to and figure a way forward when things were calm. They are loved and safe, that's a good thing.

I've done my run and showered off, now for domestic chores.

ChristmasSeacow · 16/09/2018 12:44

Not disloyal Lonely. We all had lives pre-DC and for some of us they were very different lives. I miss travel very much, we used to travel loads before the DC. And I had a really good career and, looking back, we had a lot of disposeable income. I wouldn’t trade the children away for my old life and I’ve never regretted having them but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss aspects of it. Especially travelling to new places and reading books. I hardly read anything these days; even when I get a rare chance to sit down with a book I fall straight asleep!

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/09/2018 13:08

Lonely You could work out how much the yoghurts will cost and take roughly what you need in cash. Cards make it too easy to spend.

ememem84 · 16/09/2018 13:18

Dsis came round and has gone home for a nap.

While she was here we had lunch and she fed ds some grapefruit. No reaction. I tried it and it was sour as. We started wondering whether he has any taste buds (they do though babies don’t they?!) so have him some lemon. Little guy chomped away at the lemon no worries. Strange child.

ChristmasSeacow · 16/09/2018 13:25

The first time I gave my DS a lemon wedge to chew he burst into tears! Haven’t tried it on dd, I’m curious now Grin

ememem84 · 16/09/2018 13:29

I thought he’d have some kind of reaction. But nope happily munched on it.

He’s down for a nap. I just went in to see him and he’s gotten hold of the packet of wipes. The close sticker thing on the packet is stuck to the side of his face. He’s asleep.

That’ll learn me for leaving the pack on the bed within reach.

LonelyOversharer · 16/09/2018 13:54

Was he in a sea of wipes em? That was the ultimate illegal game here. How quickly can I get these wipes out of the packet before mummy notices...

I should do that fluffy £20 would have done it (small list). At least I recognise emotional spending now. And cannot do it when at work at least!

Thanks for understanding. I shut the door on 'my life before' once I was pregnant. I lived my job, so my world literally stopped. I have no one here who knows or understands. Its very hard to explain the feeling thinking about it evokes. I wasn't done with it, but had no choice iyswim. I would never wish my dc away, but could have made better choices overall perhaps! I dunno.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/09/2018 14:04

Lost a post again by opening app from home screen instead of where I'd already started post Sad

Wreck I'd love the banana in it but I know dc wouldn't eat them. Everyone's dc has done similar at some stage, and if they haven't they're perfect parents Hmm

250g oats, can caramel condensed milk, 36ml of olive oil, 110ml almond milk & 28g choc pb fit 12 amazing flapjacks, well smell amazing I'm holding out until after dinner because if I eat one now I'll want another later.

€55 on nct and h told me it failed on 48 things, all minor and that he would take it to garage. Garage rang & I reiterated what he said & he said that's impossible, I confirmed with H and he said I said 5 faults. Angry I know what I heard. He's also gone off after spinning me some bullshit story about where's he going. I know he's lied but I couldn't care less where he's gone so I'm not bothered.

He spent €55.32 in Aldi & never asked what was needed, min spend for free delivery is €150 and so is budget for groceries, min spend for €13 off is €130 so I'll spend this, it will send us over budget but not much I can do about it now.

Born great to have that support from your dm Wink

Thanks everyone for lonelys recipe

Lonely it's not disloyal to long for your old life sometimes.

Justanothermile · 16/09/2018 14:05

I can get that too lonely, life has a funny path. It’s not always the one we choose or ask for. You are young and full of energy, what’s not to say something fabulous career wise will fall into your way going forward?

girlie. I can’t send photos via message. I’m going to post here some photos of the back protector, which you are welcome to. I know your dd has some sensory issues, so rather than send it, just pm if you think it would be useful, it sort of wraps round the body rather then be stiff like the traditional protectors. Totally okay both ways and I hope I haven’t worded that insensitively x

Looking forward to dinner. Beef pie, roasties, stuffing and veg. Yum.

My ds likes lemon too Confused

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/09/2018 17:44

Major haul of blackberries possibly 1.5kg Grin

ememem84 · 16/09/2018 18:31

mammy wahooooo!!!

We took ds for a walk. 5km. Then have come back and had pop n tiff, and dinner in the garden. Ds had beans and sausages. We’re having roast beef.

Bornlazy · 16/09/2018 18:39

Meadow I have started watching The Good Place and I am really enjoying it, so thanks for the recommendation.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/09/2018 19:23

Black berries worth €15 on special offer or €17.94 regular price Grin

Sicilian chicken bubbling away now for tomorrow evenings dinner. Dc have been eating poorly enough, h has given them varied meals of fish fingers/sausages with waffles or chips so I'm trying to move away from that.

I need another series on Netflix to get stuck into too. Long winter evenings & could watch something while stepping

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/09/2018 19:39

Nice day here, took the dog for a long walk. Ended up getting lunch in morrisons £10.

The back protector looks great jam what size is it?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 16/09/2018 19:43

Evening all.
Today me and dd went to the library for a little party for all the kids who finished the reading challenge.
£3.50 in wilkos on face cleaner and tissues.
I made fluffys yorkshires and I can confirm they were delicious!
Also made lonelys flapjack and it is setting in the fridge, can't wait to have some!

Wolfcub · 16/09/2018 19:46

Unescorted we got both soaked and blown away. Df came with me and I had df’s dog sat on my knee/head (not small dog) for a fair bit of the day. My just washed winter coat is now covered in paw prints 🐾 ds seems to have cheered up a bit which is good

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/09/2018 19:52

ememem84 · 16/09/2018 20:06

quite pop n Tiff is “aperitif” when I was little I couldn’t say aperitifs. So pop n Tiff. We have (in dparents place in France) a special pop n Tiff basket. It has a section for cooking bottles and a section for snacks.

Typically here pop n Tiff consists of glass of wine or a beer and nuts, crisps, some sort of cheesey biscuit and olives.

ememem84 · 16/09/2018 20:10

When I was a kid it was orangina, or a gini (sparking bitter lemon - very bitter lemon! Or a sparkling orange). Only time we were allowed fizzy drinks.

There was one summer when I was 6/7 when I was allowed cassis with lemonade. Dparents and dgrownups had kir or kir royale. I wanted blackcurrant too. Turns out dparents and dgrownups didn’t know cassis was alcoholic.....

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 16/09/2018 20:11

Oh fluffy, that is too long without yorkies!
I do have a recipe from heavenly baker, but they were quite sweet, a bit like cakey yorkshires and had oil in the batter, so not great.
Your ones taste like the real deal, even dp didn't know the difference!
So thank you for posting the recipe
