Aw missed SWFL. EWFL wasn't on for very long was it?

Sorry to hear about your mum Em I hope she gets better soon.

Ds woke up at 4.45. Again. I'm now watching them both empty out a box of blocks one at a time. They love this activity!

I've been busy getting things ready for the new term (for dd1 and me). Had a few end of hols treats too so it's been a bit spendy.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 30/08/2018 06:32

Got paid today - will pay back my friend what I owe her for vitamins, my car loan, dd's savings and credit card payment that's due & that's me back to zero again.

Wolfcub · 30/08/2018 06:42

Morning all. Em hope your mum is feeling better today.
Mammy I hope ds loves the first day of school.
Payday tomorrow, I am hoping to be able to clear the big chuck of money I put on the credit card for all the new clothes and school stuff ds needed.

ememem84 · 30/08/2018 06:55

Morning guys. Thank you for all the kind wishes for Dm. She’s still sleeping. But according to ddad who was up most the night worrying as is his way, catface stayed on the bed with them. Ddad was worried catface would be scared by him but she snuggled in.

Hopefully she’s feeling better today. She cried when she got home last night. I guess relief at being in her own bed. She has been saying for years that the bed in their room at their place in France needs replacing as it’s not comfy. So maybe now it’s time....

QuitelovesStrictly · 30/08/2018 07:36

Morning
Slept through my first alarm Blush
Have second though luckily.
Awwwww Catface 😍 how sweet .
Hope DM feels better

lillylollylandy · 30/08/2018 07:51

Sorry about that previous post. 20 month old DD2 was desperate to join in with the frugaleering!

I have an instant Pot. I have literally only just it, so the only things we've made so far have been porridge and a yummy butter chicken curry. That instant pot thread is amazing, some great ideas on there.

Em hope your mum is ok. Good luck with the survey lonely, the fish sound ace.

ChristmasSeacow · 30/08/2018 08:03

Out for the trip to the park and picnic today. Might go to Ikea later as I need some more Kallaxes!

I need to update my cv as I’ve been approached about a project. I’m not sure I’ll be able to do it as they need soneibd testerday. And I don’t have a childcare solution. However, I’ve aplrisched DM about doing a couple of days pw (paid) and she is mulling it over. And I’m interviewing a local nanny with SN experience next week, who is available one day Pw. If she’s good I’ll have to decide whether to take the hit and Pay her from now even though I don’t have a job yet. It’s all getting a bit real though really I’d rather go back to work after new year . Eek.

I’m off to find out what an instant pot actually is.

ChristmasSeacow · 30/08/2018 08:05

Oh and already spent £28 replacing rechargeable batteries that have stopped working (for DS’s CD player 🙄 which needs 6 stupid big expensive ones) and a new baking tub for my weevilly SR flour, as when I scalded the old tub I found it had a crack in it. Gah.

LonelyOversharer · 30/08/2018 08:23

The surveyor has been and gone! He was ShockHmmConfused at the house, while I apologised profusely! So...we shall see.

WreckTangled · 30/08/2018 08:28

We forgot to put a bin out and dh just ran out to do it only to find the bin man round the back getting it for us Grin

Cagliostro · 30/08/2018 08:31

Eeek lonely

Seacow at the battery prices! Would it work out cheaper in the end to buy a mains CD player instead?

Today I am the proud owner of a newly 9 year old boy in a periodic table t-shirt 😍 off to Pizza Hut for birthday lunch buffet with a few friends. But first I’m doing some French toast for breakfast.

And later turning some bolognese into a lasagne. Managed to get a big portion for that, 4 bagged up portions for me and Caglets, and 3 individual portions for DH (as he eats so much later and can’t have pasta it makes sense to have them separately) all in the freezer. Will also make a big load of the bechamel so I can freeze some of that too.

Morning all. Fell off the thread, getting last bits for new school year and sorting out admin.

Cag, thanks for the new thread and a happy birthday to your ds.

Mammy, hope ds had a good morning!

Wolf, hope you and ds are both doing better today.

Em sending get well wishes to your dm.

Lonely, good luck!

Sea, quite a lot to think about!

Today I'm going to get my haircut and pick up some apples as I forgot to add then to my delivery.
Have a great Thursday everyone.

northender · 30/08/2018 09:40

Thanks for the new thread Cag
Hope your dm feels better this morning Em
Girlie how is your neck now?
Fingers crossed lonely for the valuation
Hope your ds enjoys school Mammy
Day off today so madly trying to get lots of planning done for meals, housekeeping etc as my course starts next week and I'm going to need to hit the ground running.
We definitely encourage participation in housework etc from the dc. Dd is enthusiastic to the extent that we came home from work last night to bolognese bubbling in the slow cooker and the previous night all the ironing had been done. Ds on the other hand, does as little as he can get away with. The kitchen is currently a bit of a mess waiting for him to do the chores he was supposed to do last night! He manages his own washing & ironing which sounds great, but effectively means that he waits until there is nothing left to wear (or re wear...ewww!) & then washes & irons. Clearly no girlfriend on the horizon Grin. He'll learn....

Justanothermile · 30/08/2018 09:57

Happy Birthday minicag, loving the T Shirt idea.

fluffy, you are in a shed load of shit about that instant pot.....just saying...AngryWink

Today I'm biting the bullet and popping to Sainsbury's. I've £175 of Nectar points. I'm going to update my bakeware while it's in the sale.

TakeItSlow · 30/08/2018 10:01

We're on a house-tidying mission today. Smile

Em I hope your dm feels better today. Definitely a new bed for her.

Fluffy ROFL at your SC story.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/08/2018 10:04

Morning all,

hope your dm feels better em

Lots to think about sea but nice you've been approached, they obviously think a lot of you.

I'm feeling a bit better I think but still in pain, the pain is a bit more twingy now and I've got indigestion type pain which I'm blaming the naproxen for. Anyway am going to see how I go without the naproxen today and might speak to the dr about the stomach pains. Am so fed up though as hate feeling like this and am impatient to feel better!!

Anyway had a huge morrisons shop delivered last night so we def won't starve to death! A friend is popping over later as well which will be nice.

I've moved £100 over to my mums account to cover two pairs of shoes for dd plus some clothes she ordered for us.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 30/08/2018 10:20

Ds was a slow starter this morning so I didn't force the issue & after a few dodgy moments one where he cried that he only wanted to take one photo today and that was with his daddy who couldn't be bothered taking the time off Angry he went off in the door very very happy and I expect he won't want to leaveGrin

€20 tracking au pairs car

Going to work in afternoon

Justanothermile · 30/08/2018 10:24

Aww mammy, I'm sure he will be fine. And have a super day.

TakeItSlow · 30/08/2018 10:45

I have a fantastic big space in the dining room where I just sold our treadmill from. Trying not to get ideas of what to put in the space. I really need to redecorate the room and get the wall plastered.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/08/2018 10:54

I did a quick Google and ordinary pressure cookers do the same as instant pots, you can even do yoghurt in them. But you can probably do all those things in a sc too but a lot of us wouldn't want to leave it on while we're out. I think if I worked FT I'd have a pressure cooker.

Take It was for the pil too. Grr. Dh turns everything off, its like living with the health and safety executive.

Jam I'm ok with that Grin

Em Is your mum ok?.

Girlie Didn't they prescribe lansaprazole too? Ranitidine is cheap in home bargains. Cheaper than prescription charges anyway.

TakeItSlow · 30/08/2018 11:16

LOL! Fluffy I'm a bit like that too. I go around turning off lights in empty rooms and when we go away I turn off all the power switches. I'm my perfect world there would be one master switch that would turn off the whole house. I don't turn off slow cookers that are actually cooking though. That seems a bit much. LOL!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 30/08/2018 11:51

Fluffy the selling point for me for the instapot is that it would be one appliance rather than two and that if I wasn't home when something finished cooking that it switches over to slow cooker mode.
If I knew my circumstances by cyber Monday and it was on it I might purchase or with a discount code on interest free for six months on Littlewoods would be an idea too

Had a cathartic burning of some paperwork from my room and gathered the recycling while waiting for ds to finish school.

Also found two of our remaining 4 hens dead Sad their time was just up, they didn't seem to have any illness that I can see.

Made a contact lense care appointment for Nov Shock

ChristmasSeacow · 30/08/2018 12:07

Ooh fingers crossed Lonely, when will you hear?

I think the stomach pains may be the naproxen Girlie

Sorry about all the typos above! Not sure whether they really think a lot of me Wink.. more that I have very niche knowledge and there probably aren’t many people with the right experience! I doubt the timings will work out but it’s made me feel a bit more confident about job hunting anyway.

On our way to the country park place and since we left home 5 mins ago the sun has disappeared!
