My new one is a trespass one but I also have 2 from fat face, a hollister one, joules one and one from oasis.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/08/2018 19:20

Barbours good, great sales. I wear mine the most out of all of them.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 30/08/2018 19:31

Thistime I bought garlic & herb sausages with intention of making sausage stew last thurs and still haven't! After reading that I'm getting my ass in gear!

I decluttered dc coatrack on Monday, bought them beautiful 3 in 1 trespass ones on holidays, I want one for myself!
What's your one like wreck?
I bought one of those liteweight puffas that pack away last Oct, one wash & the stuffing clumped, and it's horrid now, only Penney's aka primark but I hate wasting money.
I've a light fleece 13 years now, bought on sale around Christmas time with a tip from a customer, still going strong, think it's portwest brand or similar & it's definitely a constant fall back

Laska5772 · 30/08/2018 19:31

Nowt to report here... apart from the fact that this evening i have eaten two bowls of raspberries and cream.. I had one, it was so nice i then followed it with another..(earlier I ate a vegetable curry which i had made with was pretty heavy on the cabbage ) I have a feeling may be regretting all this later ....Hmm

mammynowanauntyIRL · 30/08/2018 19:32

Laska5772 · 30/08/2018 19:33

Yup.. it could be dangerous..... ...

TakeItSlow · 30/08/2018 19:34

Oooo! Fluffy they do look nice. OMG the price though.

I have a Puffa one from tkmax, but I think I'd like something a bit more shapely this year. But still really really warm for hanging out in the playground. Hum.

I suppose Barbour aren't going to have a winter coat sale any time soon are they?

WreckTangled · 30/08/2018 19:36

Mammy it's like this! Not to everyone's taste I know but it's so cosy Grin

WreckTangled · 30/08/2018 19:37

Oh ffs it's regatta not trespass. No idea why I had trespass in my head Confused

TakeItSlow · 30/08/2018 19:40

Ideally I would like this coat:

www.barbour.com/uk/categories/womens/waterproof-jackets/barbour-coldhurst-waterproof-breathable-jacket/p/LWB0489NY7116

and some lovely knee high black Ecco boots. But this would lead to actual bankruptcy.

Laska5772 · 30/08/2018 19:41

I bought a fab coat in the Seasalt sale a few weeks ago. they have an extra 15% off now but only small or large sizes left . Its not padded but wind proof and waterproof with plenty of room under for jumpers ( I prefer layers anyway so good for now and Autumn) . Last year I got a padded winter storm proof coat (a Musto Parka - a real bargain ) from Tkmaxx. ordered online but we do have a local branch and they are always worth looking in .

TakeItSlow · 30/08/2018 19:44

Oooo! Wreck I get ds's clothes from the regatta outlet. He has a lovely long parka that I get end of line from ebay. They are much cheaper there. I wonder if they do it for adults?

mammynowanauntyIRL · 30/08/2018 19:47

It's lovely wreck and I'm sure it looks fab on you cos you're slim Smile

TakeItSlow · 30/08/2018 19:47

That's a nice one Laska. This is my problem always. I only have room to store one coat and my winter one is too hot in summer. I just wear a fleece in summer.

Also my sexy sexy waterproof trousers in winter. OMG how I turn the heads in that.

Wolfcub · 30/08/2018 19:56

I have to say if you have to stand around in the cold a lot or walk in the cold a lot then Didrikson is the way to go. If you shop around carefully online you can find some significant deals.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/08/2018 19:57

Next Barbour sale is Boxing Day. They drop to half price though.

QuitelovesStrictly · 30/08/2018 20:01

I have coats /jackets for all weathers and dropping temperatures .
Rain - several for work, cycling, padded short and long.Minus 10 Minus 25 and then summer weight, tweed etc
Always spend on coats and shoes/boots -absolutely worth it and all well looked after.

Im not keen on those Instant pots -still terrified of pressure cookers Grin and feel a bit wierded out to hear that joints of meat can be cooked in 30 minutes .
That doesnt seem right some how Confused
Plus making porridge in it ??Seriously porridge isnt really that difficult in the microwave or a saucepan !
I think my slow cooker was £25 for the big one and £12 for the small
Use nearly every day in the winter .

TakeItSlow · 30/08/2018 20:01

Wolf those do look warm but I think I'd like something foxier this year. LOL! Really tempted by the Barbour parka and Ecco boots idea, in a channeling Em kind of way. Em what do you think?

Interesting Fluffy. I might be quite chilly by then, waiting to buy a coat.

Cagliostro · 30/08/2018 20:40

I ended up buying a £25 Asda coat as I couldn’t find anything I liked. I have promised myself if I see something I really like I’ll buy it.

Spendy afternoon - Pizza Hut buffet (although they now do a deal for the kids £9 includes dessert and unlimited drink) then bowling (just the kids). Also gave DS his birthday money which my parents had technically given me ages ago. Plus bought a few bits and pieces - stationery and house things and 18-24m baby clothes all on clearance in Morrisons, birthday pressie for DD’s friend, etc...

Then came home and made a fucking brilliant lasagne. If I say so myself.

Yep, some of my 'stand in a field in all weather all weekend' coats are not at all sexy. But that's hardly the point.

My 'walk to school/work' coats are different as they don't have to withstand that kind of exposure. I've got a stunning one from Joules (not my favourite place) surprisingly that's just the ticket and far 'foxier' than those bought for weather and waterproof purposes, there's definitely a difference.

I've made jam today for the first time, having bought a kilo of blueberries for £2 from the fruit and veg shop. Can't believe it's that easy.

And £80 on baking stuff from Sainsbury's sale. All on Nectar points. My stuff was my grandmas and I'll never fully get rid of, but it doesn't actually work anymore. I've completely changed everything, hence the spend, but I had £175 of points, so all good. And all sale items.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/08/2018 20:50

Has he had a good birthday Cag? Double figures next year!.

Justanothermile · 30/08/2018 20:51

I'm with you quite on boots and coats. I'll spend on those.

Fucking brilliant lasagne is absolutely the best I find cagGrin

Like the menu plan wolf
