Wolf* hope ds starts coming to terms with things soon, is he getting any outside emotional support?

AdoraBell · 03/09/2018 16:09

So much for not spending Hmm one of the dogs has a sore foot. £360 later and vet has removed 4 nails, two are badly infected and she’s sent bloods off to find out if it’s bacterial, fungal or autoimmune. She had to be sedated for examination and is now looking rather sorry for herself. Back to vet in 2 days to change/remove bandages and assess.

Anyone know where I can a kidney?

AdoraBell · 03/09/2018 16:10

Sell a kidney.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/09/2018 16:27

Oh no Adora. Poor doggy and poor bank balance.

Cute boots.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/09/2018 16:28

Watching avengers infinity with DS. It's rather good and funny.

eBay Adora?

Cagliostro · 03/09/2018 16:30

Aw poor dog :(

Weird about the cheque em and muchos sympathy to all about the annoying toy songs. I still remember some from when DD1 was a baby.

I bought a printer today, an instant ink one. Really can’t keep going with home ed and stuff without one.

I love that pushalong dog, so cute

Sadly cheque is not for me. I’ve told them it’s not for me. The correspondence and application relate to the other person with my name. She’s dh’s second cousin.

Ive messaged her to let her know I’ve tecieved it plus all her info.

Ds and I have been for a walk.

We’re now having a picnic snack in the living room. Baby corn. Satsuma. Cucumber sticks and some popcorn.

TakeItSlow · 03/09/2018 16:40

That's hilarious Em. I'm glad that you know what's going on, even if the finance office don't. Can you just give it to her?

Cagliostro · 03/09/2018 17:34

That’s some great data protection skillz they’re displaying there em 🙊🤦‍♀️ My mum got someone else’s hospital letter the other week. Awkward.

Think I’ve lost my bus pass. Fucksake. Have to pay a tenner or something to replace but it’s the faff that’s annoying. Waiting for the bus company to answer the phone in case I dropped it on the bus. Already tried the pub we went to yesterday but no luck (Cagletini was reaching over from the high chair and grabbing stuff... I may have also found some cabbage in there...)

We spent the whole day doing the school flower beds in the end and two people came out and were pleased, so that was nice. £30

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/09/2018 17:53

Poor dog Adora. She will feel loads better when the infection subsides though. She must have felt so sore.

How was MIL? did you play mil bingo?.

Jeans pocket Cag? I lose stuff in my jeans pocket.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 03/09/2018 18:15

Em they've not heard of gdpr then!!

Unescorted · 03/09/2018 18:47

What a day. I have had 11hours sat at my desk working with the intensity I normally reserve for oh fuck the deadline was yesterday projects. My brain is an oozing mess.

Wolf it is true - kids lash out at the person they feel safest with. Especially when they are in an uncertain situation. It is a way of dealing with emotion that cannot be articulated elsewhere. You are acting as a human pressure valve for him. I know it is difficult on top of everything else but you must be doing a good job or he would be bottling it up inside.

Em exciting news with the house. How long does it take to get the court date?

There is money to be made selling nearly flat batteries to parents of children who have been given noisy toys. " My sunshine, my only sunshine......" It never leaves you. We still have "awranges" in the fruit bowl.

Is bake off tomorrow or today? And can I be bothered to watch Sunday's episode of The Bodyguard? I need someone to write a briefing note and then I can crash early.

ememem84 · 03/09/2018 19:16

unescorted Bake offs tomorrow. Same day as gym day. My trainer watches it so we’ve now got something to chat about! Haha.

mammy apparently not!!

cag absolutely. I’ve raised it as a rather serious data breach.

Spends: £42 asos. There is a stain on my white button down shirt. And my denim one is beginning to get holes under the sleeves. These are staples for me so I’m calling them essentials.

My denim one will be ok for another couple of wears. But that’s about it. I’m sad as I loved this one. And was going to wear it to work tomorrow. Still might.

Frugal news:

Have picked all the apples from DMs apple tree. And have chopped the older looking ones up for blackberry and apple jam.

I’ve also done a sort through her spice cupboard. It’s a state. But I have managed to ditch a few jars. Mainly because she had multiples of things. 4 basils (in varying states of full) etc. I’ve ditched two basils, one clove, a tumeroc that was wet.

Laska5772 · 03/09/2018 19:22

I think I have given up with Bodyguard Unsecorted we watched the 2nd one on catch upon Saturday and I just wasn't convinced or that bothered what might happento her /him TBH .. (perhaps we were spoilt though by 'Unforgotten' which was so gripping)

mammynowanauntyIRL · 03/09/2018 19:28

H brought up 6 plums from our tree & told me that's the last of them, why did he bag up about 50 for my Nan & uncles wife yesterday if that's all we'd left Angry
Bet the rhubarbs the same despite me not having any of it this year Angry

Em my mothers the same as that, multiples of everything & half jars of stuff in fridge which I invariably end up cleaning & throwing out almost every visit Shock
She has enough rice to do my family about 6 months & yet never cooks rice Shock

No physical spends but I paid €10 to cc, I did a fresh start on ynab, both mine & for joint acc, felt rather refreshing and discovered that the au pairs car insurance last payment was today so about two months free of that payment Grin going to use it for property tax instead I'd say.

ememem84 · 03/09/2018 19:32

I e just done a very tupid thing.

Sausages were in a frying pan keeping warm in the oven. I put oven glove on to take them out. Popped them on counter and then served them up.

Went to put the pan in the dishwasher and picked it up. Forgot to put oven glove on. Ouch!!!!!!!

Now sat with hand gripped round ice block.

Dh has made me take my rings off. Just in case things blister up.

Ffffffssss. So stupid.

Wolfcub · 03/09/2018 20:02

Em be careful about having it on ice you could end up with an ice burn. Do you have a tea towel between it and you?

Unescorted · 03/09/2018 20:06

That is what happens when you rush to do housework. Next time leave it to fester on the side overnight. Then you can be assured that it is cool enough to handle.

ememem84 · 03/09/2018 20:09

wolf I do now.....

unescorted id usually leave the pan on the side....!!! 😭 but we’re at dparents. And even though they’re away at present I’m still feeling like they’re watching. They will know if we don’t clear up straight away!!!!

AdoraBell · 03/09/2018 20:13

Ouch em I did the same recently when I was making a frittata Blush hope your hand feels better PDQ. Well done on the frugal apples and WTF at that data breach.

That’s a pain about the bus ticket Cag and 👍 at locating caggabe before it rots. Kids, eh?

Fluffy I have to do the MIL bingo in secret because DH is super touchy. She’s doing okay physically and her Doc is happy that the chemo seems to have halted progress of the evil cells.

Houdini is resting but is clearly struggling when she does get up. She’s had food and antibiotics, and of course doggy 🍫 .

Unescorted · 03/09/2018 20:15

Haha! I am the same. Convinced she has hidden cameras or will come back to haunt me. Love you mum if you are stalking.

Laska I lost a long post discussing the pros and cons of The Bodyguard... It can be summarised by saying the only realistic bit is the front door to Marsham St.

Wolfcub · 03/09/2018 20:19

Unescorted next time you’re in 2ms let me know if I happen to be in the same place I will buy you coffee, it used to be weekly but we moved out to the burbs a year ago

Unescorted · 03/09/2018 20:28

We are now in Windsor hse. Thankfully I don't have to put up with the security any more. We should do coffee. Interdepartmental collaboration maybe?

Laska5772 · 03/09/2018 20:34

ouch Wm I hope you are ok..Ive never forgotten the first time I was 'allowed' (mithered no doubt) to toss a pancake supervised by DPs at about aged 8 ,.Before they could stop me I grabbed the metal part of the pan ..no pancakes, trip to casualty . hand bandaged up for several weeks..
Luckily no scarring ,
