Em I meant ..

Justanothermile · 03/09/2018 20:35

ABBA at mine then it is, with a bed freshly made up in the spare roomfor snuggly, scented candles, a gin and tonic and no children sign on the door. She's going to have a quick boogie then a full nights sleepGrin

Spends
£12 Aldi.
£25 Asda, including a wonky veg box for £2, only a couple of carrots were past their best, the rest perfectly fine. More stuff for university, nearly there now.
£20 Amazon, bedding for university, the beds are a strange size. Fitted sheets and a mattress protector. Dark grey. Perfect colour for a student.

Made £25 selling a saddle pad.

DS made £60 selling some fish.

I made a beef casserole in the Instant Pot. Pack of beef, chopped onion, garlic, carrots, mushrooms, stock, some red wine, seasoning. Used the sauté function to sear the beef and onion, then added everything else and cooked for 35 minutes on meat function. Added a little cornflour to thicken the sauce, which I would do in the SC. The beef was as soft and tender as if it had been cooked for hours.

So that's a positive review so far.

Laska5772 · 03/09/2018 20:36

Unescorted I'm glad its not just me..

Justanothermile · 03/09/2018 20:36

Poor poorly pooch adora, they hide everything so well don't they? Ouch for bill though.

Ah wolf, poor you. Take care. X

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/09/2018 20:47

em You poor thing. Your mum will 100% know if you don't clean.

Is it a 4ft wide one JAM? excellent casserole result. You could probably use normal flour to coat the meat and that would thicken, or am I wrong?.

Born Did you get yours.

Wolfcub · 03/09/2018 20:49

Jam carry on the reviews please I’m loving the enabling!

Unescorted · 03/09/2018 20:49

jam I do the sealing on the hob & deglaze. Yesterday was Chinese ribs.... P Cook in a soy, rice wine, five spice, white pepper and sechwan (sp?) pepper corns made up to 250ml with water. Cook for 5 min after sealing. Reduce the stock add sugar and Tom sauce (don't judge!) When at sticky sauce stage sling over ribs and grill to yummyness. It is coming back to pressure cooker weather.

SnugglySnerd · 03/09/2018 21:02

Busy first day of term. NSD though! Will read back now.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/09/2018 21:11

Skim read hope everyone is okay.

I managed a day at work plus went out for dinner after work and am now really struggling with pain in my arm 😦 so fed up. Might go back to the Dr's tomos I can't go on like this for months.

£25 on dinner in pizza express for dd and I (it was a friends bday.)

ememem84 · 03/09/2018 21:15

Have slathered my hand in sudocrem and am wearing a white cotton glove. Hoping this helps any burn heal. Such a muppet.

I know Dm will know if we don’t clean. They’re back on Thursday evening at 6. (Boat gets in at 530). So will be spending tomorrow evening and Wednesday evening cleaning like mad. Haha.

Unescorted · 03/09/2018 21:32

When we were kids my mum used to call about an hour before she was due home so we had time to McLean the house and do all the things she had asked us to do. I had forgotten that... thanks for the memory em

Girlie I don't know how you are coping. I am really feeble in the face of pain. Hopefully the Dr has something useful for you.

Wrongwayup · 03/09/2018 21:41

Dog walker and drinks out. 33£ so 662 left. Ouch em. Has anyone else got burns on their wrists from touching oven shelves?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 03/09/2018 21:53

Love hope the training was ok.
Fluffy, that's a good idea about the department store, there is a John Lewis that is within walking distance.
Em, so true about the fast fashion, most of that stuff is what I wore the first time round in the 90s, so won't be repeating that! Hope your hand will be ok.

First day back at work was good, it is always lovely to see everyone. Safeguarding and gdpr training.

You shouldnt apply creams particularly greasy ones to burns.
Is there any signs of blistering?
If its bigger than a 50p it should be kept clean and covered by a clean plastic bag and seen in ED.

£8.90 Shopmium cashback plus popped into Sainsburys and the Veggie Garden stuff is currently free .
I got mince (yuck) Veggie burgers and Veggie bites .Cashback pending.

Im annoyed .
Did Sainsbury pet Insurance for 2 DCats
Saving of £268 on current.
Tried to do online but it came up as error at the checkoit.
Did it by phone and asked if the £25 Nectar points offer could be applied (new offer) at first he ignored me so I asked again and was told no offers at present .
Went to buy a small slow cooker in Sainsburys and yep bingo
£25 points offer on new pet insurance policies.
Grrrrr

Unescorted · 03/09/2018 22:00

wrong yes all the sodding time. My family buy me oven mitts instead of socks at Christmas. I can burn myself on the racks in the fridge.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/09/2018 22:13

Ouch em that sounds sore. YY to no cream though lots of cold water. And get it checked if it's big and/or deep.

Thanks for the instapot review. I'm going to camel camel it.

Ring them again quite, or email. Sainsbury's are usually better than that.

Back to work proper for me tomorrow. WFH half day today. Then had a scout meeting.

QuitelovesStrictly · 03/09/2018 22:37

Life -"camel camel it "
Whut ?😂😂😂
Ok will email Sainsburys.
I am the proud owner of 5 packs of Lego cards !
Any regulars want them ?
Pm if you do

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/09/2018 06:12

Pm you quite.

I'm going to set up a price drop alert on camel camel camel

Urgh that was hideous - the alarm going off

thistimenextsummer · 04/09/2018 06:23

That's so frustrating quite and definitely worth following up.

I managed a NSD yesterday. That feels good for the start of the week!
Need a small shop today. Realised we had nothing planned for dinner so will pick up some chicken thighs as we have the other ingredients for nigellas Spanish chicken.

It's also dds first day back at school so will probably go out for a small treat tea for the children to celebrate.

I'm loving the darker evenings but just wish the mornings weren't so dark as well!!

ememem84 · 04/09/2018 06:38

No blistering. I shoved my hand into cold water immediately after I’d been so silly. Phew.

Work today. Then gym. Aiming for a nsd.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/09/2018 06:43

Quite Google ceo sains insurance, then email them.

SnugglySnerd · 04/09/2018 06:59

This I'm enjoying the darker mornings as dd1 has finally stopped waking us all up at 5 am. I put my bedroom lamp on at 6 am and she had the audacity to complain that I woke her up! I can't it until they are all teenagers who want to sleep in. Revenge will be mine, all mine! Grin

QuitelovesStrictly · 04/09/2018 07:18

Haha Snuggly
You will then spend every day yelling at them to "get UP" Grin

Ive emailed customer services to start with.Fluffy
It was being ignored then told there were no current offers that made me cross !
Lunch packed .
Should be NSD

Lego cards gone
Scaring myself witless readibg a debt thread in aibu.

WreckTangled · 04/09/2018 07:41

Eugh. Back to school. Poor ds is very nervous I feel so sad for him Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/09/2018 07:53

Snuggly Damned cheek. Put them in east facing bedrooms with very thin curtains. Or just a voile panel. Consider a pet cockerel. By then you'll be so used to early starts it will be normal to you.

I'm up before 7am most weekends, sometimes 6:30.

Poor boy Wreck. He'll be ok once it all starts.
