It's cold and due to rain here too but we are booked on a coucil-run kite making course, which sounds quite fun. We've found a fantastic new play park too with lots of interesting climbing equipment, so this holiday has been pretty exciting.

Christmas I made it to evensong. Smile

ScandiLady · 26/08/2018 11:52

Lsd. Went to the grave with flowers for my granddad and aunt. Then dropped the kids of at my greatgrandmother and now grocery shopping for her. She didn't fancy going today so left the kids with her to watch a cartoon and eat cookies instead.

ememem84 · 26/08/2018 12:14

Windy grey day here too.

I am ridiculously excited I can put our washing outside. Having lived in our apartment for 8 years and not had an outside drying space this is a revelation.

Ds is very irritable today. I suspect teeth. He’s still working on tooth number 8. Which is being stubborn. The rest came in twos.

He’s had some calpol and a nice lunch (frittata). He thinks it’s hilarious when he eats the same things as us.

He’s down for a nap now. And so am I. I’m feeling very down and heady today. Super sleepy. No energy. I think the adrenaline from the move has worn off. So I’m resting as much as I can today. Have a vitamin c drink and a load of water. Taking care of myself.

Should be a nsd today. Yippee.

QuitelovesStrictly · 26/08/2018 12:32

Its threatening to rain here -due a downpour later .
Woke at 10 Blush have been up at 5/6 everyday ,even on days off due to NDN DC banging endlessly .They must be just ignoring them,so fucking annoying and yes have been there Angry
Breakfast of pancakes and berries.
Need to clean the bathroom and plan is to spend the day looking through autumn/winter stuff and identify any gaps.
Only thing I can think of is a warm, soft cardigan to wear with PJs in the evenings -not keen on wearing a robe of any kind, mornings yes, evenings no.
I have no idea why -my brain baffles me sometimes Grin
That and some reading and knitting
Mmm scallop en gratin for dinner .

Wolfcub · 26/08/2018 12:34

£50 for four pairs of school trousers (which need taking up a fair bit) and a pack of socks. £60 on school shoes. Still need to buy trainers. Currently spending £16 on ice cream related products to recover from the shock

NameChanger22 · 26/08/2018 12:39

I spent £85 yesterday on the last bits of school uniform and equipment. I got a few bargains. I spent the evening sewing in name tags. Today and tomorrow I'm having no spend days to compensate. I must remember to keep away from Ebay.

ChristmasSeacow · 26/08/2018 13:07

I need to sort the logo uniform bits this week, I got the rest in the 25% off Tu so am doing okay. DS’s school shoes were bought in May half term so may still fit. Must check.

The DCs were alive Wink - DS woke up just after I posted but DD slept on to break her personal record. DSis and DM showed up at 9am to look after the Dcs for the day and DH and I are now on the train to a lovely city for a christening. Was £60ish for 2 tickets, would have been cheaper (and probably quicker) to drive but we are sick of the car! I am sitting under an AC vent though so am freeeeezing. I am wearing a nice frock and shiny patent brogues, which I will change to slightly ugly heels at the last possible moment. I am expecting torrential rain so have had to compromise on naice shoes as mine are mostly suede.

Hope the kids behave themselves. We will have a lovely time catching up with uni friends anyway!

DH did help with the garage yesterday - he is generally quite helpful when instructed, he just doesn’t take initiative much Wink. I didn’t actually get to swill our the whole garage as there’s was too much stuff in the way but we removed a bunch of smelly soggy cardboard and a water damaged pram and few other baby bits and DH took them to the tip. And he cut the grass. So some progress! I haven’t dealt properly with the weevils yet though, there weren’t enough hours in the day yesterday.

It is filthy wet south of London!

TinkysWinky · 26/08/2018 13:19

Christmas it is also bucketing well north of you in NI - must be the whole UK today! Quick sandwich for lunch and off to visit SIL. Got one wall of DS room first coated. Going to be a slow project lol

ememem84 · 26/08/2018 13:28

I have a bidder for my eBay thing! A bottle of clarins body oil. Sealed unused. £10. It retails for £40. I won it in a raffle so it’s quids in for me. As was a free raffle to enter.
Yippee.

Ds is napping. I’m still lying down. Have switched my amazon payment to our joint account. And have cancelled my September subscribe and save deliveries. I don’t need the things I had on order for the next month so pushed them back to October. Savings of probably around £60. #smug

£94 on boots card.
£5.47 nectar card.

Checked cashback offers for ugg boots. I’m treating myself to a new pair for my birthday. My old ones lasted from 2010. So had good innings. Not buying yet though.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 26/08/2018 14:09

Hi everyone, only just caught up!

Yesterday was a NSD.
My team leaders Mum passed away yesterday, so I messaged her to pass on my condolences. Her mum has been fighting an illness for some time, but was still a shock to them all.

We were out at 8 am this morning to watch Paw Patrol, don't think the 13 year old was very impressed!
But I think this will be beginning of the end for the 8 year old to enjoy this kind of thing, they grow up too fast and I think it brings it home more when the baby days are over.

Anyway spends
2 coffees £5.70
Candy floss £4.00
And whatever the travel will be.

TakeItSlow · 26/08/2018 14:42

We went to our free kite making workshop and it was great. Oddly, the family of three next to us had driven a distance to get to it and were neighbours of ours. LOL! The kite was very well designed and flew beautifully, even taking off by itself when it had landed on the grounds.

There was a nice granny there with a very slow, soothing, public school accent who was making me feel nice and relaxed. I wonder if it's too late for me to learn to talk like that?

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/08/2018 14:46

tinky The green jinn offers end today.

NSD.

We've had the heating on & I have my heated throw over me.

QuitelovesStrictly · 26/08/2018 14:52

Ive got a hot water bottle Fluffy
Its freezing here ,but I much prefer being able to warm up than try to stay cool.

Have sorted outvsome summer stuff to be put away .
When last DC goes in a couple of weeks DH is moving his stuff over into the massive triple wardrobe and I will have his wardrobe for my stuff as well .
I wont have to remove and pack stuff away each season -hurrah !
Will also have another really good sort out .

ememem84 · 26/08/2018 14:57

I’ve installed another charity shop bag (aka bag for life) in our room next to the bin. Dh has two things already for it. Yay

It is cold. We are having. An indoor day. Ds is in jeans and socks for the first time in about 4 months.

Weve put the dry paddling pool in the living room and filled t with balls. Dm bought 400 ballpit balls. Ds has his own ball pit now. We’ve got the f1 on. He’s passing the balls to us.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 26/08/2018 14:57

I did outdoor chores this morning with the company of my dog involving wheelbarrow & shovel---the cleaning of henhouse, did doghouse yesterday & yard this morning. It was damp & miserable and actually rained on me doing the dogs yard, just as I came the sun started to shine Angry

Got these freebies from the garden. Too many images uploaded it's 3 eggs & 10 plums Grin
I'm marinating in the bath now, using some of those shower gels you get in perfume sets at Christmas.
Have put the moisturisers together & the sealed ones which I'm not keen on are going to be donated to the centre for women who've had to flee their homes due to domestic abuse.

I expect h & dc will arrive in next hour so making the most of my last few minutes Grin

Sounds like a good time takeitslow and your day sounds lovely fluffy
*
Curvy* why so early to cinema?
Em good call on pushing out Sept orders to October

I worked out today that I need to put €40 weekly towards my interest free cc to repay it in interest free period.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 26/08/2018 15:10

Mammy, we went to the SSE arena at Wembley to watch a live show.
My dp got the tickets but had to be the first show as he had to get to work after.

Thatsnotmybookworm · 26/08/2018 15:24

Yesterday was NSD (DH paid for dinner out).
Spends today
£6 soft play
£8 supermarket

Wolfcub · 26/08/2018 15:31

It’s persisting it down in God’s own county too. We got pretty wet on the school shop. Dropped into dm’s on the way home but ds was being very annoying so we didn’t stay too long, although we definitely outstayed our welcome, home with a hot water bottle now. My back and hip are playing silly buggers

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/08/2018 16:08

I'm not coming home. I'm going to get the bus to turn around. Never mind work in sure they will understand. Tell me when it's sunny again and I will book my ticket back.

QuitelovesStrictly · 26/08/2018 16:16

Can anyone advise regarding heated throws?Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/08/2018 16:28

Buy one but don't bother with the faux fur one, dh got me one for Christmas & I feel guilty because the fur wasn't worth the extra money compared to a standard fleece one.

Can anyone remember when Tesco did their baking ingredients 3 for 2 offer? it's usually around the time you'd make your Christmas cake etc which to me is September.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 26/08/2018 16:49

A heated throw sounds lush, I always worry with things like that that they are a fire risk though 😕

I've been up for a bit, we started a game of monopoly but after an hour I needed to lie down again, not sure if it's the tablets making me feel so tired and lethargic or just the fact I'm still in pain.

I'm a bit sad about the summer being over, it always seems to go so much quicker than the winter.

Have ordered dd some school shoes via Next which come in tomos £32.

Dd has been really tearful today and bursting into tears over minor things, I'm thinking hormones plus not liking that I'm struggling.

I watched EWFL, they seemed like a nice family (the pastors) and I was very jealous of their kitchen!! I do think there could be some acknowledgment of the fact that sometimes there is a place for convenience food. I do cook from scratch some of the time and I do like baking but equally when I'm knackered freezer/microwave food is a life saver!!

QuitelovesStrictly · 26/08/2018 16:59

Ive had a heated mattress thingy for ages Girlie never ever crossed my mind it was a fire risk.
It has a timer so even if I doze off it switches off.
Heated throw I and Dcat would be under it when its switched on Grin
Sorry Ive missed it -have you hurt your back ??

Justanothermile · 26/08/2018 17:45

God I remember the cost of school uniform, especially with multiple children.

I'm sorry to hear about your team leaders mother curvy.

It's stopped raining here and didn't start until mid morning, but it's been filthy weather. Dd is at Leeds fest and so will be in a right filthy stateGrin

I got 18 miles done with a clubmate earlier nd avoided the worst of the rain.

Really chuffed for your DD unescorted and her results.

If they do decide to do university north, I'm discovering all the extras they need for halls. So, if you've got old bedding, cutlery, pans etc then hold onto them for the time being.

NSD but I'm afraid I've put the downstairs heating on!!!!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 26/08/2018 18:05

quite yes I've had a trapped nerve in my neck for a while but now have pain all across the top of back as well in my neck and down my left arm 😟 am managing with rest, hot water bottles and naproxen! !

Will try and see my dr on Tuesday.
