Oh gosh you poor thing!
Ive had major problems with my neck and shoulder plus 2 surgeries .
Hopefully they will MRI and find out whats going on

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 26/08/2018 18:22

Thank you jam.

I'm in awe of you running 18 miles, don't think I could ever run that far!

Girlie, my dm had an accident at work a few years ago and damaged her left side quite badly and is in pain often.
I bought her a heated shoulder thing that she wears a lot and she has said it really helps with the pain, maybe that could help you too?

mammynowanauntyIRL · 26/08/2018 18:45

Ah curvy that makes sense!

Wolfcub · 26/08/2018 19:19

Girlie those heated shoulder things are in Lidl at the moment. I was going to buy myself the back one but I was trying to show some financial restraint

TakeItSlow · 26/08/2018 19:35

That sounds like more than just a trapped nerve Girlie. Has it got worse since it started? It sounds a bit concerning. Says the seasoned worrier of the group.

ChristmasSeacow · 26/08/2018 19:41

On my way home from the loveliest christening. I am not religious but it was very special - in a very beautiful and historic location but private due to the Df’s Job. We had lunch with a friend first (£30 for us) then caught up with loads of other friends and our friends’ families. Much cake and champagne. Bit tipsy. Now getting a very slow and delayed train home. DSis says the Dcs are being ‘lovely’, not sure what she’s done to them but I must take notes Grin.

For all you fellow knitters and especially the Drops sale veterans, tonight is the night I finally get to open my order - DMum brought it up to mine this morning. I am so excited...Quite (I think it was) did you start knitting your linen relaxed jumper thingy?

Family over tomorrow for lunch. Food already bought. Aiming for an NSD.

DH has fallen asleep next to me. He looks quite attractive in his suit. Shame about the gormless open mouth though Grin.

Still cold. I am sticking a jumper and scarf on when I get home!

Unescorted · 26/08/2018 19:43

Evening. I have had a very idle day. Netflix may have featured heavily.

Girlie that sounds awful.

Em I have a mental image of your DS chortling over his dinner. It is lovely to make it an enjoyable experience when you hear so many stories of people really struggling with feeding battles.

Jam that is impressive. I think I have done well with 6 miles.....and sometimes just getting out of the door is an achievement.

ememem84 · 26/08/2018 19:51

unescorted it’s so lovely. He gets so so excited about food. We had pasta bake for dinner. And gave him a scoop. He loved it. And again we had sames!!!! He was delighted that he was eating the same as us.

Messy as anything. But delighted.

He also did some ridiculous farts. So ridiculous dh and I did Rock Paper Scissors to see who’s get to change him. I lost. But ‘‘twas just farts. Ha!

We’ve had milk and read two books. Mog the forgetful cat and the tiger who came to tea. Ds started growling at the tiger. So funny. And he’s now in bed. We had a bit of a head bump before bed - he was crawling on the bed and clocked his head on the bedside cabinet. Sigh. Lump and a bruise. But otherwise ok. A few tears. We kissed it better, put the magic spray (water with lavender oil in it) on his bump and he’s gone to bed.

He’s had loads of naps today, almost 4 hours I think. Which is unlike him. But teeth. And a potential cold maybe.
But nsd. And a nice relaxing day.

QuitelovesStrictly · 26/08/2018 20:04

Sea No Im starting that until next spring ,have got a winter jumper to finish from last winter firstBlush
Aaah em all mine loved their food and still do.
Sleep and food are favorite things here ,even now they are almost out the nest.
Oh and baths Grin
I need something good to watch -Nordic Noirish, anyone ??
I can stay up late as its a BH tomorrow 😂

WreckTangled · 26/08/2018 21:02

Frugal fail. We all got drenched and had to get dry clothes from Sainsbury's. £50 for jeans for me, too and trousers for ds, t shirt and joggers plus socks for dh.

Wolfcub · 26/08/2018 21:06

For those ordering shoes from Clarks apparently this code is good for a 20% discount on orders over £49 according to reduce my supermarket spend BTS18

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 26/08/2018 21:35

slow yeah I made the mistake of googling earlier! Am now stressed I've got a herniated disc 😓

Wolfcub · 26/08/2018 21:53

Girlie if you think so don’t wait until Tuesday to see someone if things get worst

ChristmasSeacow · 26/08/2018 23:04

Girlie I hope that eases soon, it sounds horrible. Have you been told to try and keep moving (like with a slipped disc)? Or to rest?

It does indeed cost more being ill /injured Sad.

Cagliostro · 26/08/2018 23:28

Oh girlie I’m sorry that sounds crap :( please look after yourself.

Not caught up properly yet. Yup scandi basically it is down to us completely as they don’t go to school. Basically the law is that parents have responsibility to make sure their children get a suitable education, whether that’s at school or otherwise - we have chosen the ‘otherwise’. It is quite scary especially as DD is now high school age, and I am increasingly convinced she has learning difficulties of some kind as well as the autism. I’ve been busy planning the new regime for next month which will be a lot more formal and structured for both of them, it’s exciting but I’m not entirely sure how it will all fit in! We are very busy with all their clubs (they do lots of dancing etc) and also people are asking me for tuition again, mainly piano. Aaaaaargh. But... money.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/08/2018 00:36

Home now.

Girlie that doesn't sound like it's fun. Of it's getting worse you need to seek medical advice.

Bornlazy · 27/08/2018 05:45

Girlie I think it sounds as though you’ve strained your trapezium muscle. I had that and the pain went from my neck right across my shoulder blades and down into one arm. Can you self refer for physio through occupational health at work?

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/08/2018 07:54

Shopping arrived £110. One DC up with the larks another still asleep.

Just got a £10 Boden voucher. What's worth getting?

lillylollylandy · 27/08/2018 08:02

I keep falling off the thread and then being so far behind it takes ages to catch up. Hello again everyone. Great to see Jam back.

Girlie I hope you feel better soon, agree you should get this checked out properly.

Hope everyone else is well and hello to newbies - have been avidly following Cag's and Em's moves. Christmas Orkney is beautiful isn't it. Many years ago I had a boyfriend from there and we spent some lovely summers on his family's farm.

Here we are about to get back on the frugal wagon. We've got the balloon payment on our car due at the start of September. We'd initially planned to flip the finance but due to some complications with DH's job, we've decided to just pay it off outright. On the one hand this is A Good Thing but on the other it means we're clearing out the cash savings (we can't touch the shares, due to yet more complications). So we need to build those back up, which is pretty hard going with 3DC eating us out of house and Home, along with growth spurts every few weeks, sigh.

Today I frugally hung a washing out at 7am. The BBC weather forecast better not have lied to me about it being dry and breezy here in SE London today! Lunch will be freezer food and then I'll make a cottage pie for tea. Must confess I secretly love this grey, cold weather. Guess it's the Scot in me! Need to do a clear out of DD1 & DS's room today, they've literally trashed it and every single toy is on the floor. So I'm following through on my threat to bin it. Can not wait. Love a good binning session!

Happy bank holiday all.

ememem84 · 27/08/2018 08:06

I slept so well last night. Dh slept in with ds. And I slept alone. Uninterrupted. Lovely.

Dh is up with ds. They’re doing breakfast and ds is screeching. Dh came up earlier and brought me a tea. I pretended to still be asleep. So I could have a few more minutes.

Nsd planned today. We’re going to the Manor House for a country fair. We have membership so free for us to get in. Yay.

I changed my Invisalign aligners last night. Good lord these ones are tight. My mouth hurts. But no pain no straight teeth. It’ll ease off in a couple of days. I was meant to change them over today but always do it the night before so I can sleep off the very worst of if.

TakeItSlow · 27/08/2018 08:58

We're off home today. We had a good holiday, and well worth the money. Which was about £435.

Lonely, I still didn't manage to make it to the cathedral during shop opening hours. Sorry about that. I'll keep trying as we don't live far away.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 27/08/2018 09:06

@lillylollylandy well done on not falling into the trap of flipping finance on your car.

girlie think you need to see gp today rather than wait until tomorrow

Lifelong snap with shopping once I go downstairs and give one last look around I'm going to put through my order for delivery this afternoon €150 approx

Dc have play dates this afternoon & this morning we're finishing off clearing out their room & sorting out their school stuff into their bags.

ememem84 · 27/08/2018 09:25

lily I love a chuck out session too! Makes me feel more in control.

Ds is down for a nap. I went downstairs and joined them for breakfast. Ds has started now to pass things to us. Anything and everything. This morning he gave me a piece of toast, his dummy and some half smushed banana.

This mornings chores: get out of bed (enjoying tea no 2 here) shower wash hair get dressed. Then empty bins, laundry on the line, another load in the machine, sweep kitchen floor (because ds is a messy eater) and tidy living room. Dh has been allocated some of these jobs. Bins floor and living room.

I’ve been adding things to my “new house list” on amazon. Glass bowls with lids for god storage, a luumi daylight alarm clock, ugg boots, dish cloths, tea towels, shower/bath tray...

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/08/2018 09:39

Are there no nice physios where you work Girlie? I've always helped other professionals when asked.

Life The kids stuff is meant to be good, there's a 70% off in clearance at the moment. They send out free returns labels so it wont cost you anything to try it.

LonelyOversharer · 27/08/2018 09:44

I feel like I'm playing hookie today! Watched 9am come and go. I did a bit of radical living room floor clearing last night, the bit where no-one goes. And the kitchen windowsill. Honestly not wiped down for a least 3 years. I threw the fish tank decorative bricks that have been residing there out of the window. So hopefully have snapped some nettles too.

If no one else is up in 30mins I'm going to sneak off shopping and go to the tip. Tell you what, two weeks into my big asda delivery, all we are low on is fruit, veg, milk and bread! And dog food, but I sent the muddled bit back, so was expecting that. I need baking stuff too. Aldi should do the trick.

Last nights tea was good, basically mary berry's sausage tray bake, but then I sloshed yorkshire pudding over it. Nothing left, which is always pleasing with my lot (ds had plain sausages and yorkies).
