Wonderworld wooden rainbow blocks
Petilou rainbow tunnel
Bigjigs maracas and Bells (suitable for babies)
Jellycat boing ball (not wooden but awesome unfortunately they’re double the price on amazon as they are in store but John Lewis etc sell them at rrp)
Another not wooden but Smartmax is amazing and from 1yr.
I love the Le Toy Van shopping trolley, all Le toy van actually but most say from 3+ so you would have to see what you think would be suitable.
Also plastic fantastic but Wow toys are great especially the bath ones Smile

We just went in the car to a museum, and on the way home we were following a big agricultural transport lorry full of onions.

The onions were actually piled high in a sort of onion mountain, and we were following along behind.

Periodically an onion flew out of the lorry and I was very tempted to stop and gather them up. I could almost hear fluffy shouting encouragment to do it. Grin

Road onions :o dare you to go back and get them :o

Thanks wreck they all look fab DD had those sensory blocks when she was little actually, I’d love to get them again! Rowan already has one toy the same (Manhattan toys soft block/ball/tetrahedron :o) as I loved them so much when the other two had them, and when I saw they were still being made I had to repeat the purchase :o

She’s not got all that many toys. I think DS had the most really as he had all DD’s stuff plus new things! Trying to keep it a bit more minimal this time and actually thinking about what I’d really like to get her. Rather than being a scattercash!

WreckTangled · 25/08/2018 15:03

Oh I also love the Melissa and Doug stacking cubes the big cardboard ones. They go so high!

TinkysWinky · 25/08/2018 15:24

Hi everyone! I had forgotten how fast this thread moves Lol!

Mmm road onion soup... with that little added 'smokiness' lol Grin

DH working , so kids and I went to lidl for a top up shop (£36, but lots of their weekend offers and 6 bottles of wine at 2.74 a bottle to stash for xmas, bargain), then went and got the paint to do DSs room in Homebase 3 for 2, got the free one as the same colour as our bedroom which badly needs touched up. Trying to get the whole place looking nice at once - been in our fixer upper 5 years now and every time we finish with someone we are back to the start with a different room Lol! Just about there now!

Chicken & bacon bake for tea and broccoli and spuds, everyone's favourite. Might push the boat out and make a pud Cake

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday, it was forecast rain here and it's gone mega sunny so I am in a good mood lol!

ScandiLady · 25/08/2018 16:19

Dh is at a festival today so prob a bit spendy. We dont think he's going to get much paid for this month so need extreme frugality next month and also use some from the savings. We also go for a weeks holiday next month so ekstra spend most likely that week.
And got an letter from the private school that dd1 is accepted so from August 2020 she'll start there, so we already want to start soon with saving extra for that, its 250£ per month the first 3 years and then 130£ thereafter. Pricy but so worth it...
Went to a free concert this morning with the girls, they absolutely loved it...
We don't really have any cathedral in Denmark but I love going in them when we are abroad, they give an inner peace.
cag do you homeschool?

The Friendly Frugaleers- Autumn is on its way !
LonelyOversharer · 25/08/2018 16:29

So I've been into town with my dd's...very very spendy. But lovely that for once I could just let them pick stuff that they wanted. £38 paperchase £12 tkmaxx £30 wilkos £30 office whatever it's called (staples), and £35 in the range. Thats all stationary, water bottles, lunch boxes etc done and some cute oven glove hand things for me. And £7 in the co-op en route home.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/08/2018 16:36

Well I think we are all ready for home now. Fly back tomorrow evening.

Has been about what we usually spend this holiday though so that's good

Flappyjack · 25/08/2018 16:39

Missed the Post Office so will go on on Tuesday.

The apple and blackberry crumble was a success. It took almost a full pack of butter but we have enough for tomorrow too, plus I made extra crumble topping to freeze. I will be crying next week when I can't fit into my jeans.

Tinky I bought wine on offer to keep for Christmas and ended up drinking it - hope you have more willpower 😂

TakeItSlow · 25/08/2018 16:42

We just went to town for dinner and had a nice baked potato in the market square. The people in the shop were incredibly helpful as they only had two potatoes left and went to trouble to find non-wheat non-cheese things for ds and nice non-potato things for dh. Liking Ely a lot. Grin

£12

TinkysWinky · 25/08/2018 16:52

Flappy I have zero (and I mean zero!) willpower at all so the bargain wine will be living at my mum's house, I haven't even brought it out of the boot because I know a bottle would slip straight into the fridge lol Grin

£4 tinned tomatoes but I'll get £3.60 back from shopmium and green jinn apps Thanks to Tinky.
£3 cat food.
£22 hair cut. They gave me 25% off for being a new client.

I did a four week meal plan. I'll just need flour, cows milk, eggs, fruit and veg box from lidl and frozen chips. I'll try to wean dh on to aldi chips....Maybe I should mix the two brands together like you when you change a cats diet.

www.mydarlingvegan.com/vegan-blueberry-muffins/ I made these last night, dh says they are 99.8% perfect. Obviously you'd use ordinary cows milk and not vegan milk. I've already eaten all of them. I halved the recipe.

Wolfcub · 25/08/2018 18:03

Went to boots for conditioner and face powder (expensive) bought some new moisturiser as my skin is changing dramatically (think it’s the stress) and a birthday present to put away for ds £66 of which £37 was the face powder I needed

Wreck has recommended some fab toys there. We loved WoW for ds alongside a lot of the wooden ones. I buy Moulin Roty and orange tree for my h’s nieces

WreckTangled · 25/08/2018 18:06

We're going to goodwood tomorrow. I bought a new dress but it's going to chuck it down with rain Hmm so will probs wear trousers.

Wolfcub · 25/08/2018 18:07

Life I’m interested in what hotel you stayed in, would love to go back again next year but not sure I’ll be able to save enough to go next year

ememem84 · 25/08/2018 18:17

Ds loves the dinosaur park. We looked at the dinos. Then swung on the swings. Then slid on the slide. Then saw the fish. And the ducks. Then went inside to the baby soft play. Then had coffee and a biscuit. Dh paid. Lovely day.

We took two cars because I wasn’t sure what time my riding would finish so I didn’t think I’d get back home on time and then we’d be late meeting friends. Predictably riding finished on time and I was the first one at the park.

Cagliostro · 25/08/2018 18:47

Yep scandi the Caglets did go to school but were very unhappy, we took them out when DD was 7 and DS was 5 (now 11 and nearly 9). :) Quite looking forward to getting back into home ed next month (we’d normally keep doing some bits and pieces during the holidays but we’ve basically had the summer off due to the house move)

Right I’ve spent far too long on the iPad (although that did include watching the first two episodes of Unforgotten, they made me cry!) - see, Internet, DISTRACTION! Not that I’m likely to be any more productive without it today, PMT, headache, etc. But I must switch off now, I hope you all have lovely evenings.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/08/2018 18:54

Wolf is the hoposa villiaconcha, Puerto pollensa. With jet 2 holidays

Wolfcub · 25/08/2018 19:05

That looks really nice Life, slightly closer to the marina than we were too

Flappyjack · 25/08/2018 19:12

take I've been thinking maybe you should invent a recipe...nigella has slut's spaghetti, jamies has chicken hit 'n' run.

Maybe we could have take's "road onions" heavily featuring meat 😉

ememem84 · 25/08/2018 19:16

Dparents place in France is on the “bean road”. So there are farms all around and inthe night they transport the French beans theyve picked. We used to go out in the morning into the road (you’d maybe get 4-5 cars a day going past) and pick them up.

Also they rented the back field to a farmer who grew corn. He thought we were crazy eating the stuff. Corn on the cob is fed to pigs. And cattle.

Unescorted · 25/08/2018 19:28

I love Mallorca. We have gone the last 2 Christmases. Once to Pollenca town and the other to Palma. I pack my walking boots, DD sketchbook and the boy & dh hire bikes. If we remember which day is Christmas day it is a miracle.
Soupe aux oignon al la tuer la route - my fave 😁

I think I am to do a get unfrugal thing and buy a bicycle.... On cycle to work and I will save bus fares and dh will get a discount for work. I wouldn't need a gym membership. All so I can see the first week of next year's Tour de France with my friend.

QuitelovesStrictly · 25/08/2018 19:36

The bike will soon pay for itself Unescorted
Plus you will get so fit .
I walk and cycle and it saves me loads plus its really good for my mood not to be stuck in a traffic jam Smile
Pah -Corn on the Cob with butter and salt /pepper is delicious !
