Gosh Love, 35 is young! Sorry you missed your lunch though, and hope you are feeling better this morning.

Blueberry pancakes all round here. Dd is already looking mostly purple.

Annoyingly DH’s father’s day present (rucksack) wasn’t delivered to Waitrose yesterday so I might need to pop out today, if it comes in. Other than that, gardening and laundry. Ocado coming this morning, £107 but that includes a multipack buy of nappies, plus possibly my last ever formula, if dd takes to cow’s milk. And cleaning stuff.

Thinking of my lovely dad today. Happy father’s day to all and sympathy to those who are missing someone dear x

Loveabaconsandwich · 17/06/2018 08:44

Thinking of you and your dad seacow and all of you who miss your dad Thanks

I think I just depressed myself yesterday seacow when I realised the job advert I was reading was for a job I interviewed for (but withdrew from) 14 years ago. I think I made myself feel bad that I'm now looking at jobs that are the same level as back then and 14 years later I'm back to considering that level of job. My current boss makes me feel like shit which is not doing much for my confidence. I appreciate only I can improve things though!

ememem84 · 17/06/2018 08:55

Thinking of you today sea

Hope everyone has a nice chill day.

meadow hope you’re doing ok!! I may have got this completely wrong (so apologies if I have!) but we’re you celebrating Eid? If so Eid Mubarak (I think that’s right...). My mums neighbour was and she brought Dm some of the most delicious sweets I’ve ever had. No idea what they were apart from sugary sweet deliciousness. Le yum.

Ds chewed dh’s father’s day card and smushed a nice piece of buttery toast in his face. Happy father’s day!!

We’re going to see fil today, then to the pony club show, then to see ddad for dinner.

Probably some football watching involved is the World Cup over yet?!

SnugglySnerd · 17/06/2018 08:58

Sea your trip sounds amazing. I've always wanted to go to Orkney and Northumberland is brilliant. We also had blueberry pancakes and now have purple babies!

Cag the house looks lovely. Ikea do Hall storage with hidden shoe cupboards. They are very narrow and don't open as far as normal cupboards. They might fit well in your storage cupboard and could be used for something other than shoes! Hope dh is ok.

Should be NSD today although we've just accepted our mattress had had it. It's been uncomfy for a while but I sat on it earlier to button up the pillow cases and there's a big dentist where I was sitting. It hasn't sprung back at all. Not sure we can afford a new mattress. Any recommendations that are not too £££?

SnugglySnerd · 17/06/2018 08:59

Big dent. Not dentist. A big dentist on the bed really would be strange!!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/06/2018 09:32

Spent €10 last night on soda water & lime

I'm wiped out this past few days for some reason.

Today will be spent making Father's Day breakfast as dd wants that, making meatballs, cross stitching, doing a weights workout, and hopefully a walk too. I'll possibly nap in the middle of it & mess all this up! Need to collect an order of 2 pairs of shorts for my holidays from Dunnes too, forgot when I was in town yesterday, they'll be available for collection until thurs though so no panic. Just remembered I'll be in town on thurs for hysteroscopy, I can collect before that! My single pair of shorts gape at the back & I can't wear them every day of my holiday either.

Love is it a job you'd like & would it improve your quality of life?

Seacow holiday sounds absolutely amazing

Cag best wishes to your dh on diagnosis & I love the moving house notebook stops you stressing too much about stuff.

Hi to everyone else I haven't mentioned

SnugglySnerd · 17/06/2018 10:02

That's expensive for lime and soda Mammy. Pubs here usually charge 20-50p for the lime and the soda is free! It's my beverage of choice when I'm driving. So refreshing.

QuiteCleanBandit · 17/06/2018 10:39

I was going to say that Snuggly
30p lime and free soda - often all free if you buy a couple .
Have made a green lentil daal for work lunches with salad and flat bread.

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/06/2018 11:01

Snuggly the big dentist made my day. Thanks for that.

Wolfcub · 17/06/2018 11:03

Yum Quite that sounds delicious and very healthy.
Happy father’s day to all the frugal dads and grandads and lots of love and hugs to Sea and Mammy and anyone else who is finding today a bit tough x

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/06/2018 11:07

Snuggly I noticed that in uk alright, we don't have the fizzies on tap in Ireland just in bottles.

Wolf right back at ya

laComtessede · 17/06/2018 11:52

Thanks to everyone finding Father's Day difficult for whatever reason.

NSD yesterday.

ememem84 · 17/06/2018 12:01

Some of the pubs here will do free soft drinks if you are a designated driver.

One pub takes car keys and sorts you out with a taxi back if you all fancy a drink - they don’t pay the cab but it’s often at a flat rate to crack down on drink driving. They have a secure car park.

Wolfcub · 17/06/2018 12:13

Has anyone seen Unescorted recently?

ememem84 · 17/06/2018 13:07

We are with fil and his gf. Man I’m bored.

They’re watching golf. Talking about golf. And listening to the football. Sports sports sports. Yawn.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/06/2018 13:10

Flowers to those having a tough father's Day.

£10.50 at the burger van at football. It's bloody cold.

Going to see aha later so might get a drink of pop there later.

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/06/2018 13:13

I'm having an okay father's day. Dh appeared when I was having a long bath and offered to buy the three father's day cards that I should have bought several days ago. Oooops. It was a good bath though.

I hope everybody else is having an okay day, or at least has the prospect of a long bath at some point.

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/06/2018 13:18

I just opened the washing machine door and there was a big beetle on the rubber door ring. What the heck!?

Frulgaleers - Jumping into June
Wolfcub · 17/06/2018 14:18

£16 local amazing fried chicken shop. My dad has just invited us for roast dinner and I’ve had to say no as we are already stuffed

SnugglySnerd · 17/06/2018 14:23

Sunny we are finding beetles everywhere at the moment. I've never seen so many. I found 2 on the stairs yesterday. I think they come in on the washing. Pleased the big dentist made you laugh!

Sympathy Em I can't think of many things more tedious than golf. Unless it's crazy golf which is fun. They should televise that!

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/06/2018 14:59

Unescorted is missing, presumed frugal.

£10 petrol.
£17.49 epilator. It was £45, reduced to £35 and I had accrued nectar vouchers so I used them too, it looks ouchy.

Wolfcub · 17/06/2018 15:13

Fluffy that’s a great bargain. I love my epilator.

QuiteCleanBandit · 17/06/2018 15:15

Dont do cards here .
Why would you need to buy 3 Sunny ?
Unless thats too nosy a question ?
Very unfrugally dropped a new bottle of oil on the floor Sad

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/06/2018 15:18

Bandit I usually buy one for dh, and for both Grandads.

AuditAngel · 17/06/2018 16:34

Hi All, sorry, I realise I have been I have been AWOLZ since last Sunday.

Spendy week. Food shop was £200, but included 6 bottles of God wine. That was Tuesday.

Wednesday DD1 had an induction meeting at her new school.

Wednesday £10 karate for the girls.

Tuesday and Thursday I worked in London so parking and train fries, but can reclaim.

Friday lunch £6.50. Was invited to open house at Dd2's friends house. Had to take/collect DS from badminton so only planned to stay an hour, but was really good fun, so left to collect DS, dropped him home and got home with DD2 at 2am in a taxi £10! Great evening, for a bottle of cava.

No so fun later. When we got home DH was asleep, so DD2 and I got undressed, had a wee and went to bed. Later I woke up screaming, as DH kneeled on my shins. He claimed we had snuck into bed while he was in the bathroom (no, we both used the bathroom) think he was sleepwalking!

Saturday ordered trousers and top for DD1 year 6 production 10, then brought some material and fringing etc. £10

£1.50 church collection. Gifts for DH, T-shirt £8 bought a coulee of weeks ago, BBQ cover £37,specific to his new BBQ. Gifts the girls bought from school, £2 each.

Booked walking tour with Baths entry for trip to Bath next weekend £84, plus £180 visit yo thermal baths including treatments.
