Lost two posts trying to post on the old thread!!

Doh.

Oh well the general gist was we are home, washing machine on and was glad of my own bed last night. A lovely holiday though and lots of fab memories made, good to get some sea air in our lungs.

I have two days now to try and get straight before being back to work on Saturday Sad the house is a bit upside down so will take two days I think!!

Em I am slack jawed at your mil, she is not right is she?! I'm actually wondering if she has some sort of personality disorder, she goes so far over what is acceptable line its untrue. Your poor dh.

Meadow that is so shit of the bank, I hope you can get it sorted, I would tell your landlord he will have to wait. My guess is evicting you would be a massive ball ache for him and he is just calling your bluff (thats a guess though!!)

Seacow given your back issues I would say heels are probably a bad idea, sorry. You have been through so much recently, please allow yourself as many treats as possible!!

smurfy2015 · 31/05/2018 09:17

Thanks, @Laska for the new thread.

After my moan about carers on last thread, things have improved after meeting with their manager, it was down mainly to one particular person but will be reviewed again to see if any better

I've got dinners being delivered from local butchers, a friend has been helping me too as knows I'm finding this all hard, GP is still pushing for physio as bedbound since came home from the hospital on 16th may

My 3 nieces contacted me during the week to see would I join in with them as part of a present for my brother in August for his 50th, they will get the appropriate amounts of money off their brothers when needed but they won't keep mouths shut in the meantime so can invite his longer-term friends to do a video message from a distance or closer ones to come to a house party

I thought ESA wouldn't come in today as the form isn't back yet as its away with the person who fills them in and date to get back has passed, it has so I have money to get groceries etc.

If I hadn't a kind friend had offered to lend me whatever money I need for whatever length I need with no interest

SnugglySnerd · 31/05/2018 09:32

Thanks for new thread Laska.

DH has finally been paid so hopefully DD can have some sort of half term treat today or tomorrow. The weather has not been kind to us this week but we've had friends round, visited granny and done painting, baking etc

Dancingtothemusicoftime · 31/05/2018 12:13

Long-time lurker on these fantastic threads - so much wisdom, humour and pragmatism so thanks for this new one, Laska.

I do miss Needastrongone’s contributions though - hope you are ok, Need

ememem84 · 31/05/2018 13:01

seacow oooh lk Bennett. I swear by them for smart shoes for work. Super comfy so in my opinion worth the cost.

SunnyLikeThursday · 31/05/2018 13:18

We just went out to the cathedral and had a bit of a go at stained glass painting. I also honked the clarinet in the park and managed to play the whole of "on the shore" by ear, which I was really chuffed about.

It turns out it is much easier when there is nobody within earshot, because it didn't work nearly so well later when other people had arrived. #ShyMusicalInstrument

mammynowanauntyIRL · 31/05/2018 13:45

Imo even if you think it's only a short time you'll be standing in heels, that short time can feel very long, I'd go for the lower ones on this occasion seacow coming from someone who wears her heels until she gets home every single night she goes out Grin

I've been shopping with SuperValu online since Christmas, have gotten €15 off €150 spend code most weeks I shop with them, a few weeks ago this went up to €15 off €150 spend, but now it's gone up to €16 off €165 spend. I'm wondering if it'll continue to go up. I budget €150 for our grocery shop and normally spend that with discount off and get luxury/stockpile items with it.

Mechanic just rang with bill for work done in January €350 Shock well not really I knew it'd be high. I've got it in the Christmas club at work, might just get it out of there and be done with it.

WreckTangled · 31/05/2018 13:51

I'm off on a spa night tonight. Can't wait! Going with a friend, it's a very posh one.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/05/2018 13:57

Popped out to the garden centre as dd wanted cactus soil (cacti are the new obsession!) She has spent the morning happily repotting them.

Had a voucher so seemed a shame not to spend it 😉 bought a few new plants and have turned a bit of the bottom of the garden over to plant them. When it grows up a bit will hide the bins and hopefully look lovely.

£10 voucher so only spent £5.

Off to aldi in a min as fridge is empty.

laComtessede · 31/05/2018 14:42

I'm the same @mammynowanauntyIRL with high heels; I can never understand the baskets of flip flops at weddings trend; I would never swap my heels for flip flops Grin
Thanks for new thread @Laska5772.
Spends yesterday:
£53 between two supermarket; that included a duvet and a small bathroom stand that will hopefully suit our downstairs toilet.

ChristmasSeacow · 31/05/2018 14:55

My train leaves in 6 minutes and they still haven’t put the platform number up Hmm

AdoraBell · 31/05/2018 14:58

Place marking.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/05/2018 15:36

£44 in aldi.

SnugglySnerd · 31/05/2018 15:48

I miss Need too. I hope you are OK.

NSD. Trying to think of an outing for tomorrow that I can manage with DD and the dts. I know that sounds really pathetic but 2xone yr olds can be quite tricky on their own. At least when it's just them and me we can go home when it all goes tits-up. Not fair to do that to DD1 if she's enjoying herself. I think a local National Trust place might be do-able and has really nice ice creams to bribe treat dd1.

SunnyLikeThursday · 31/05/2018 16:07

I can imagine that must be hard Snuggly. I once saw a very frustrated looking Mum a very complicated arrangement of child and small twins all packed into a single pushchair and buggy board, ploughing her way determinedly down the main street in town as though it was taking all her energy and will power just to make it out of the house at all. Must be pretty exciting stuff to manage so many tiny people.

It kind astonishes me that so much has changed for you, as I remember when you were called pointless (am I right?) and had a quiet life as a teacher and Mum-of-one, and then suddenly a positive pg test and then twins. Life fairly ploughs on doesn't it?

My ds and dh have gone to town for a walk. It's amazing how the family dynamic changes so much for being in a different house here. Ds and dh both love that there is enough space to dance in the living room, and dh loves that there is no white noise in this house, which I would never even have noticed in our own house.

SunnyLikeThursday · 31/05/2018 16:08

Can I show you an amazing music thing that I found on Youtube? I am trying to figure out the clarinet and what it's for and I found this amazing bit.

CremeEggThief · 31/05/2018 16:34

Ah, here you all are! Thanks Laska.Star

Been busy the last few days. Helped a friend with a house move on Tuesday, so spends were £6.60 bus fare and £3.89 on lunch and 2 packets of doughnuts at Tesco. She kindly gave me a bottle of wine, which I'm saving for the weekend.

Yesterday and today have been NSDs, as I've been mostly wallpaper stripping with a borrowed steamer. Yawn, yawn, yawn! Might need to pop out for some bits; to save my sanity more than anything! Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/05/2018 16:42

Dancing I miss her too.

Snuggly There’s some toddler ready meals on shopmium. They look like the kind of thing you can freeze and reheat. It’s one per account.

£8 Tesco. £4 on the chips and mayo Dh eats, reduced ox tongue and a sausage roll, tin foil. Tesco have stopped doing smart price tea. Bastards. I still haven’t forgiven them for discontinuing daisy dishwasher powder.

£2.20 in from shopmium for the longlife milk.

ememem84 · 31/05/2018 17:13

Thursday done. Boss has summoned me for drinks and dinner. Shame.

LonelyOversharer · 31/05/2018 17:29

Oh, that is a shame em Grin

I have shopped. I went to Farmfoods. Wow. Wht have I never darkened their doors before?? I filled a trolley, 2x24 cans of diet coke for £12, 130 wash surf £9.99 (will last us 6m+) tonnes of branded food, like 2x6 cans of princes tuna for £10. Spent £78, after getting 10% off at the till.

Then Lidl, £69 and swept up in aldi £27.

My little car was heaving. Sack of spuds, cereal, sack of dog food, all meat, veg. Done. I have meal planned 25 days from what I bought. Will need extra milks and bread and pet food into the month, but as far as meals for 6 people go, thats all done.

If you have a farmfoods, I recommend it! I swerved the meat, as it wasn't British, but if you have a reasonable freezer, go!

Then went to my mums. Cup of tea and a chat. Threw the dc outside to play as they were bickering.

I have finished a jumper. Like done and ends sewn in! A lovely top down thing that I started last year, and shelved with just the sleeves to go. Well it's hot and I need nice clothes, so I have put tiny cap sleeves on it, instead of long. Needs a wash and then ready to wear.

Are you in Ely sunny? I have painted a lot of the noahs ark windows from the cathedral. If you mooch through the gift shop you'll see what I mean!

SunnyLikeThursday · 31/05/2018 17:36

OMG Lonely You are beyond talented!

Seriously though - What should I look for and I'll zoom down first thing tomorrow. We've to be out of the house by 10am.

Gawd how exciting!

Wolfcub · 31/05/2018 18:16

Long day at work. Ds is just getting his hair cut. After refusing to go to holiday club this morning he’s really enjoyed himself.
23 in tescos for bread, milk (left mine at work) a few treats and a few yellow sticker bits for tea. Not quite sure how we spent 23.

55 on diesel as used all my last top up driving ds to mils and back.

Payment from work came through it’s about 50% of what the gross was they quoted. Not sure how close to an accurate net figure this will be and whether to expect a bit more at the end of the month or not or a big drop in take home from the reclaim of the allowance I shouldn’t have been paid this month. Hmm they have made a right old mess although I am just glad they’ve given me something

Wolfcub · 31/05/2018 18:17

Sea I would say flats as someone with a lousy back I don’t wear heals anymore and I used to wear skyscrapers. The best I can manage now is wedges.
Em sorry dh is having a hard time with mil she seems to be going out of her way to be a complete pain in the arse
Sunny glad you are enjoying the holiday and the music

Fluffycloudland77 · 31/05/2018 18:26

Free 200g bar of galaxy on clicksnap. Looks to be all supermarkets.

SunnyLikeThursday · 31/05/2018 18:51

Lonely I ran down to the cathedral, but the shop is shut. I'll try to go tomorrow before we leave. Very exciting to think that your paintings might be there. Smile
