Ok.

AdoraBell · 22/03/2018 22:03

I like brown rice. I’m under no illusion about the time it takes though.

My dogs smelt lovely after the snow.

Cagliostro · 22/03/2018 23:00

Three words. Microwaveable brown rice. :o

I have six pages of the thread to catch up on! But for now, bed. 😴

How did it go unescorted? Keeping my fingers crossed for good news for you.

WreckTangled · 23/03/2018 07:27

Eugh I'm knackered. Spendy day. Helping on school trip with ds' class then spa evening with my friend tonight.

ememem84 · 23/03/2018 07:35

Today:

Dentist for next step of Invisalign (apparently they’ll “shave” a bit off my teeth today....Confused)
Funeral

Possibly dinner out depending on how we feel after.

LonelyOversharer · 23/03/2018 07:59

Top up shop this morning. Going to Morrisions as they have sent me coupons promising £8.50 back from a £40 shop. But it's very expensive in there.

Wolfcub · 23/03/2018 09:14

Em teeth shaving sounds highly unpleasant to me I am not a dentist fan. Drs later for long awaited blood tests (typically as I’m starting to feel a bit better) and Lidl for some bits to keep us going until payday , dh keeps moaning the fridge is bare

northender · 23/03/2018 09:32

Annual leave day here, but need to nip into work (constantly playing catch up). Lunch with a friend at a pub near a craft shop which stocks lovely quilting fabrics so that is going to be a little treat to myself. Will try to be restrained!

wreck I'll have a look at those pay scales. I saw an RCN thing on Facebook this morning heavily pushing the deal & I think my Union (CSP) will do too.

LonelyOversharer · 23/03/2018 10:39

Could you let us know how that goes em? Dd1 is having her front tooth shaved as part of her final adjustment in may. It is the tooth which overlapped and needs to have the side and bottom straightened so it sits neatly in line.

Morrisons was a hideous £82. But got some t shirts for ds and another 3 easter eggs. So expensive. Small pot of cream £1.15 vs 86p in lidl. Am sure my double up coupon did not scan. I will be complaining if it didn't.

ememem84 · 23/03/2018 10:53

lonely it was fine. Felt wierd. But not painful. More slight vibration than anything else. It’s the noise that sets me on edge.

Wolfcub · 23/03/2018 11:00

Lidl and then Sainsbury’s because Lidl didn’t have what I wanted 42.67 in total which I think is a £5 overspend on food budget for the month.

Meal plan for the next weeks bearing in mind we’re away a lot next week. Bacon baguettes, paella, curry rice naan, sausage casserole, something pasta

SunnyLikeThursday · 23/03/2018 11:57

I just went and got properly fitted for a bra, which was pretty thrilling. I'm not a 36A any more. Now I am a 34C apparently. Gosh! I also now have slightly less money.

ememem84 · 23/03/2018 13:06

sunny that’s what I hate about bra fittings. You feel obliged to buy the one they give you. I keep it simple and just buy that bra in all the colours!

Must go for a fitting before I go back to work....

Funeral service done. Lovely friend just about held it together. She’s so brave. I held it together until her boyf read a poem (the one about stopping all the clocks, no idea who it’s by).

Heading home now to pick up SS and head back to the wake. Lovely friend will be his god mother and he has a dribbly hug and kisses with her name on it.

SunnyLikeThursday · 23/03/2018 13:14

Well done for the funeral Em. I always find those a bit strange, what with the star of the show not being there.

SnugglySnerd · 23/03/2018 13:31

Is that the poem in 4 weddings Em? It makes me cry too Flowers

Today is on track to be a NSD although I am slightly cross that the weather forecast promised several hours of rain so I put the dryer on but the rain lasted approximately 10 mins and it's been sunny since.

ememem84 · 23/03/2018 13:42

I think so snuggly

I know what you mean sunny it’s the “oh so and so would have loved this” bit that gets me. There were hundreds of people there which was lovely.

We’ve relieved dparents of ds and are heading to meet everyone at the pub now.

Moanranger · 23/03/2018 16:29

Em poem is by WS Auden.
I can recommend Pressure King combination pressure cooker/ slow cooker. DP bought for me as Xmas present. Great for pulses, also does Rice Lonely I got Uncle Bens Brown -99p per box at local cheap place. Parboiled so 18 min. I love brown, also wild, but mixed with other rice.
Bit of a shopping epiphany today - winding up work & fantasising going out to buy a nice piece of (luxury) fish for dinner as a reward. Stopped myself at “reward” bit. Fine to buy nice fish, but to shop as a reward? So we will have a nice mushroom & pepper omlette, various veg, brown rice. I probably have enough food in fridge, cupboards, freezer to last thru middle of week
Dark sounds like a tall order. Good luck.

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/03/2018 17:07

I’ve always thought I should have bought a pressure cooker not a sc.

£10 aldi. Beer, bacon, cat food and milk.

QuiteCleanBandit · 23/03/2018 17:47

Im terrified of pressure cookers-felt like I was waiting for it to blow up when I was a child !

QuiteCleanBandit · 23/03/2018 17:54

18 raspberry canes-3 different varieties purchased plus 160 leek plugs and 24 lavender plugs (to encourage bees) for the vegetable garden.£20
Sowed courgettes,celery ,tomato in trays

Had left over beef stirfry for lunch.

CremeEggThief · 23/03/2018 17:55

Good for you, Sunny, getting around to a proper bra fitting.

Loveabaconsandwich · 23/03/2018 18:28

I have flu. I can only make it to the bathroom if DP helps me there. Fever and I reckon tonsilitous too.

DP came home at lunchtime to help me to the bathroom and to give me ice cream. Cannot eat anything except cold stuff

Bornlazy · 23/03/2018 18:38

Oh dear Love that sounds grim, I hope you feel better soon.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 23/03/2018 18:53

Oh no love that sounds awful!!

Yes well done on bra fitting sunny I hate stuff like that and hence all my bras are uncomfortable! ! Might go to m&s on Sunday and get me and dd measured 😕

We have had a nice day, spent a few hours in the garden this morning have mowed and reseeded all the bald patches on the lawn. I can't wait for all my plants to (hopefully) spring into life and start growing lots.

Had a meet the tutor type thing at dds school this afternoon which was fine, chatted about some of the social issues etc the tutor was well aware of them which was reassuring.

Think have decided against south Wales now as a bit far (can't be doing with driving far in the summer holidays as the roads get so busy!!) Am now thinking east Devon, maybe Exmouth. .. I still need to book a couple of nights in Wareham for the may half term, might do that tonight...
