Sort of update.

Our lawyer hasn’t heard anything. I spoke to estate agent and essentially said I was sick of this and what the hell is going on. He spoke to buyers lawyers and they are speaking to the bank. They are suggesting retention monies and an independent i spection of the apartment by a builder so the buyers can get a quote for works for the fire certificate. But only today suggesting this to the bank. So we don’t have an answer and probably won’t be moving before Easter.

We know that the only inspection needed is by the fire service (but there’s a backlog of applications) so this will be done in due course. So essentially they’ll do it twice.

But I’m going to stress to our lawyer that we will not pay for this independent inspection.

Spends. £28 Waitrose.

Loveabaconsandwich · 20/03/2018 13:07

I guess that answers the “are we moving on Friday” question though em . But so so frustrating!

I’d love to be a fly on the wall when you speak to your DH quite Shock

Hope it is going ok wolf

Spendy morning
Returned £40 of duplicate sizes to M&S but spent £20 on the DDs on sale stuff. £20 back into my account.
£36 on new shoes for DD2. She had gone up a whole size. Had a GV from her birthday.
£44 in Asda but got a big bit of beef for Sunday lunch in that too
£4.98 in McDonalds Blush but DD2 and I had a nice chat over our chips

Bonus earlier. When I was looking for the shoes GV I found a £50 amazon voucher which I had forgotten about Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/03/2018 13:38

Quite No need for a hive. If Honeywell make this so will others www.amazon.co.uk/Honeywell-CG511A1000-C-Thermostat-Cover/dp/B000BPGP6M?tag=mumsnetforum-21

That or he pays you £135 per month for his showers. Check the immersion’s switched off at the wall and fuse box so he can’t try and circumvent you by switching the immersion on instead.

It works out at £1620 a year for his showers.

mammymammyIRL · 20/03/2018 14:14

quite separate rooms, taking your food, rocket coming his way are you together?

mammymammyIRL · 20/03/2018 14:15

And tell me to f*ck off if you want to!

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/03/2018 16:14

WreckTangled · 20/03/2018 16:21

QuiteCleanBandit · 20/03/2018 16:25
Grin We are very much together mammy If I dont address these issues then we wont be -I stuck my head in the sand for way to long and was resentful all the time. Separate beds are for health and sanity only !Wink Its ok no husband will be harmed ,just lightly stirred Smile
QuiteCleanBandit · 20/03/2018 16:28

Omg fluffy thats brilliant 😂😂😂😂😂

mammymammyIRL · 20/03/2018 16:44

quite happy to hear that, simmering resentment is no good.

Sometimes they're just completely oblivious!

LonelyOversharer · 20/03/2018 16:53

Oh I love that lockable thermostat cover! Dp changed ours a while back to a wireless one (valiant boiler), so the old thermostat is a blank box, and we have a portable bit that we can move from room to room (or the heating switches off when the log burner is on, leaving upstairs icy cold). If you had one of those you could pop it into your handbag each day.

I have optimistically planted potatoes. Some of the compost was frozen still. Back garden this year, at least there is direct sunlight back there.

Spends...£3.19 lidl. I am currently living on their pain aux chocolate's. £1.98 in dunelm, topping up dp's £20 (deep casserole dishes for snake baths). £7 in the co-op on treats for dd1, she's on a field trip tomorrow; and £2.95 posting my etsy orders off. £20 petrol.

I really need a few nsd's.

QuiteCleanBandit · 20/03/2018 16:56

Oh resentment is awful and a marriage destroyer mammy
Far better to sort it head on !

CremeEggThief · 20/03/2018 18:56

Sorry to hear about the further delays to moving, Em.Brew

Hope things went well today, Wolf.

At least you've got to the root of the puzzle, Quite. It's really annoying when the other partner isn't on the Frugal wagon!

Spends: £4.60 latte and cake; £1.05 mailing bag; £5.76? Morrisons (milk, juice, salad leaves, bananas, honey and 2 Maltesers bunnies); £28.03 Select (on two dresses, but one's a birthday gift for my sister), all whilst collecting DS's new trainersite from Sports Direct. £39.44 total?

CremeEggThief · 20/03/2018 18:58

trainers*

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/03/2018 19:08

Topcashback are doing 20p back on maltesar bunnies.

Having had it switched off all day -the water is still hot,he is converted .
Minor words were had as there was a Boden parcel waiting Grin
Usage is down to £2.00 so virtually halved.
He is now investigating Hmm a surge at midnight Confused

SnugglySnerd · 20/03/2018 19:12

Two different but very frustrating situations there Em and Quite.

I need to get on with some work. Not at all in the mood. Will have to force myself.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/03/2018 19:14

What colour is your hot water tank? If it’s got a white exterior jacket it’ll hold heat for nearly 24 hrs. If it’s a red puffy jacket you can add another one on top safely.

When we moved here the tank cupboard roasting so I lagged everything incl pipes in awkward positions, that got hot & now it’s just slightly warm.
