Hope all are ok 💐 and welcome lou
Got back at 6. Absolutely bloody freezing, I’ve kept the sling on as an extra layer 😂
It was really fun. Many of the rides were shut, so they were giving out letters as we entered to say we can reuse our tickets free within six weeks, so we will all be going back! So excited, it was brilliant as it meant the kids could explore and do all the smaller rides, and next time they’ll be able to focus on the big stuff.

That's great cag! So pleased you had a good time.

Wolfcub · 19/03/2018 20:28

Cag that’s fantastic especially as you had bargain tickets to start with can’t beat two days out for the price of one

LonelyOversharer · 19/03/2018 20:32

My very tame ex bat hens saecow! They turn slugs into eggs. Plus they squat when you go near them so are easy to catch, unlike my little bantams, who can fly.

My dc are all wired tonight. It's very wearing. I have resorted to a bath. But no peace for me as the only loo is in here.

We are going to book the holiday. Will phone the kennels tomorrow to see if they have the big kennel available. Then put down a deposit. Would love to venture to the south coast (I'm sort of cornish really), but after 3 hours in the car with 4dc... wales is truly far enough!

Unescorted · 19/03/2018 20:57

Hey peeps.
Sea hope your Dad's scan turns out ok.
Wolf good luck for tomorrow.
Em did you find out that are to moving? Fingers crossed.
Lou hi
I think we mighty have been premature wit DD being frugal. The dress is cheap but we have fake tan, shoes, bag, face packs, nails, hair .... How expensive is prom. Do not have girls and if you do start saving at birth.

I had a spendy weekend. 2 new frocks and some trousers for £77 at TK Max, scary wobble reduction knickers £22. And half a mortgage at the art shop.
Frugal win today... Toni & Guy hair cut for £5. The apprentice doing it was taking her final assessment...next week she goes into a salon. Topped it off with a home dye..... even DH is impressed. I have lost my mum look.

northender · 19/03/2018 21:17

Not being rude, no comments as I haven't read back.
Quick post now, meal plan done to get through to the end of the week with minimal shopping needed. 12 month budget plan finalised ready for April. Feeling positive Smile

Need to buy a big (6 litre) slow cooker as the pot from ours broke & our small one is okay for some things but too small for batch cooking. Any recommendations??

ememem84 · 19/03/2018 21:22

House news - no further forwards. I’ve emailed lawyer this evening. Ffs.

I’m actually twitching to unpack. Or pack. Or something. Feeling very restless. I may have to clean something.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/03/2018 21:38

Unescorted Are you all swishy now?.

Quite How much energy are you using now?.

Unescorted · 19/03/2018 21:45

em feel free to come up here if that's a cleaning compulsion.
North get a pressure cooker. No need to think in advance. Instead of cooking a stew, ragu or curry for 30-60 min it is done in minutes, dried pulses without soaking can be done in 45 min. Rice 6 minutes, stock 15, pulled pork / beef 40 min, sticky ribs minutes, pot roasts, braised Vege ..... It is a cooking revelation. The best bit is you turn it on and go out.

CremeEggThief · 19/03/2018 21:46

NSD.

Unescorted · 19/03/2018 21:46

fluffy even the grumpy husband was impressed.

QuiteCleanBandit · 19/03/2018 21:52

We are using £4-5.50 per day Hmm
Weekend was £5.50 but kept heating off during the day and only on for a bit in the evening.
Im obsessed and turn everything off.
Today heating and HW on in the morning until 8 and nothing on until 4pm and its still over £4 just with one meal (biryani)and one diswasher run.
Grrrr

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/03/2018 22:21

quite that doesn't sound right, I use more than that and it doesn't cost as much!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/03/2018 06:42

I think you need to start a thread in housekeeping Quite. Is your boiler set very high?.

QuiteCleanBandit · 20/03/2018 06:42

Everyone says that Girlie
Every single person 😿
Yesterday my colleague says she keeps her heating on all the time and her bill is £70 for gas and electric .
It doesnt matter what tariff we are on our bills are huge and I sit here in the bloody dark with the heating off!

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/03/2018 06:45

Is it the hot water?

QuiteCleanBandit · 20/03/2018 07:03

Possibly -found that DH had put it on at 13.30 Angry
Mind you I do wonder if other people are soap dodgers Grin

WreckTangled · 20/03/2018 07:33

Ds is poorly which is a pain. Dd has an OT appointment which dh is taking her too, he will have to take ds with them whilst I go to work as I've got an appointment booked. Then I'll come home and swap so he can go to work.

Good luck with the interview today! I hate interviews but I'm sure you're much more clever and professionals than me Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/03/2018 07:38

No soap dodging here. You like it quite hot don’t you?.

Can you check if the boilers set too high later?

Wolfcub · 20/03/2018 07:49

Quite is your meter ok when we moved into the house we didn’t realise the meter was buggered and it nearly bankrupted us we were just haemorrhaging money. Took two years to work that out

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/03/2018 08:05

Did the supplier reimburse you?

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/03/2018 08:13

Sending positive interview vibes

QuiteCleanBandit · 20/03/2018 09:11

Ok we have a winner !
DH has been leaving the hot water on all bloody day so that there is enough hot water for a 5 minute shower when he gets in 🤔
Am fucking furious !
This is not the first time he has done something like this as being frugal only applies to everyone else .
Off to look at Hive ??

LonelyOversharer · 20/03/2018 09:25

I think hive might eat any money you save from having the hot water off. Can you set the timer to go on an hour before he gets in? Or is a combi boiler an option? There are government grants available if you qualify (age of boiler/type of house/benefits).

Just spent £5.60 ebay on heart charms. The little dogs I knit have a collar and tag (charm). I must have last bought them about 3 years ago. One sale will cover these. Now I need to get off here and finish my 3 etsy orders.

Sun is out, sky is blue, spring feels almost promising out there!

QuiteCleanBandit · 20/03/2018 09:32

I do set the timer and apparently he over rides it by switching to constant.
He has no idea yet how angry I am Grin
I have been puzzling over thisbanging on for weeks
