Mmm duck eggs. If you don’t like them I bet Wreckcat will. Very rich. Nice poached with (duck) pastrami.

JavaJava · 06/03/2018 18:34

Hi. Just had a read through a bit of the thread. Is it ok if I join? You lot seem lovely.

I'm an LP, working part time, ok money wise but need to reign it all in so I can save as much as possible.

Laska5772 · 06/03/2018 18:35

I love your cardi em I am really into that colour right now.. is it new covets

Laska5772 · 06/03/2018 18:37

I love eggs (in fact I just scoffed a 3-egg mushroom omelette for dinner) but would rather not eat another duck egg , really rich and i suspect the one I tried recently wasn't quite fresh (boak)

Laska5772 · 06/03/2018 18:39

Hello Java Welcome... We are lovely!! Grin well the rest are anyway!

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2018 18:42

Hi java

Don't think I have had duck egg before.

LonelyOversharer · 06/03/2018 19:08

We want to get some ducks! Never had a duck egg though. Would they make delicious rich cakes? (Imagines ducks in pinnies frying off the fairies)

No more spends today, but I'm going to ikea with my sister tomorrow. I could do with some storage boxes, some random things I don't know I need yet, and a washing up brush.

My 750g gammon looked a bit lost in my huge slow cooker, just put it in for 3 hrs with a pint of water. It was so good, soft like butter. With cauli and mac and cheese. Tasty. Cheap.

em is that a scratching post for lions? Or possibly wreckcat. My storage box looked lovely empty. Right up until I filled it with stuff, now it laughs at me when I go to get a pair of gloves, that are inevitably right at the back under six bikes and half a tonne of yarn, not in the labelled box I left them in.

JavaJava · 06/03/2018 19:13

Hi :)

I like duck eggs. We used to have some ducks. They're not really much different to hen eggs other than size.

I'm trying to meal plan with a gammon I bought. I can get six meals out of it for the two of us. Roast, pasta bake, risotto... Any other ideas?

JavaJava · 06/03/2018 19:15

Lonely you posted that while I was typing ha. Mac and cheese is another good idea. Thanks

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/03/2018 19:15

Hi Java Smile.

Duck eggs don’t taste that different to hens eggs.

WreckTangled · 06/03/2018 19:16

Java gammon with macaroni cheese as above, pea and ham soup, ham, egg and chips, gammon with salad and coleslaw ummm not sure what else Smile

Laska5772 · 06/03/2018 19:23

Java the very best Gammon dish IMHO is Jambon et Persil.. Hot thick slices of boiled gammon with (lots of) parsley sauce and boiled potatoes .. peas if you like also

(must be eaten with a cheeky red and a Ridiculous French Accent Ooh la la) .

I always cook mine in (cheap) apple juice with half an onion ,stick of celery some cloves and peppercorns .. bring to the boil , and then simmer v slowly

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2018 19:24

Gammon - carbonara. BBC good food 2 step carbonara

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/03/2018 19:52

I’ve just got 9 meals off my gammon but I eat big meals. I could easily got more off it. Cats had some too. Obv.

Tm I’m buying fuel, white bread flour, dw tabs (not aldi because you can’t break the new shape in half easily) and two Heinz ketchup before the cashback ends on topcashback.

The cupcake mix is on checkoutsmart again. Might be there tm too.

Em Lay it on it’s side. They like that.

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/03/2018 19:53

OO next week em. How exciting.

£25 on fuel and bits from the co-op

WreckTangled · 06/03/2018 19:55

Nsd.

ChristmasSeacow · 06/03/2018 20:15

Lonely instagram is brilliant for craft. Really really good. I mostly follow knitting and crochet people and it’s brilliant. Seems to generate a lot of followers for the people involved too (and hence sales). And it’s easy. Do it!

I’m off out for a pub dinner with my lovely friend another one who’s bloody moving away and leaving me . I’ve put lipstick on for the first time in at least 9 months.

Welcome Java

WreckTangled · 06/03/2018 20:16

Oh seacow, you're going out as I'm considering going to bed Grin

mammymammyIRL · 06/03/2018 20:30

Seacow where are you getting all this energy from Shock
I'm not thinking about going to bed, I'm already there! And one of my feet is like an ice box, just one, bit bizarre! Grin
