Snow pretty much gone here..

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 03/03/2018 08:51

love hope your dad is okay, good that they are keeping him in as they will be able to work out the cause of the confusion, a worry for you all though.

I've woken up with a headache so have taken painkillers and come back to bed.

It's warmed up slightly so am hoping the snow will start to thaw.. we have run out of milk and so have all the local shops 😞

LonelyOversharer · 03/03/2018 09:02

I'm really anxious this morning. My ex has not put money in, is this the month it stops? I think this every month, but there is literally nothing I can do about it. Tax credits go in on tuesday, and I'm several hundred overdrawn. Dp isn't really earning at the moment (he could, but almost refuses to do the work, it's very annoying) so it's all on my shoulders.

The house has almost no food left, so I have to try to get out and shop. We are also an unruly tip after 4 days kicking about inside, but no one lifts a finger except me, so if I want it sorted I have to sort it. Three of my dc have horrible colds.

I'm having an almighty pity party.

I think I need to find a full time job. It doesn't seem like I can rely on anyone else. But I can only really work in a supermarket or factory or something, but have no experience, and am not much of a prospect for an employer. I hate the rejection. Bugger.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/03/2018 09:09

Why isn’t he earning? 😡

Laska5772 · 03/03/2018 09:11

Hugs lonely (not that you can eat a hug).. I hope the £ turns up .. But why isnt your DP working if he has work? And why does he think its down to you?

Unescorted · 03/03/2018 09:20

lonely that is shit. You are entitled to feel put out. How old are your kids? And why does your do not contribute to the running of the house? Either keep it less of a mess or bringing money in?

Love hope your dad is making a speedy recovery. Mine enjoyed the peace of being in the hospital without mithering from my mum or bro.

I cook mince from frozen too....we have yet to die.

Wolfcub · 03/03/2018 09:23

Need I love your menu plans
Love I hope your dad starts to recover quickly, I agree with others re a uti
Lonely that’s not a pity party that’s a set of real problems and no other bugger taking responsibility for sorting them. Don’t rule yourself out of a job in lack of experience before you apply though there’s a lot to be said for personality and skills built outside of formal experience
Slightly warmer here today at -1 snow predicted for later but the weather has been wrong more times than it’s right in the last few days
Nails later so £20 for that and if it’s not slippy in town I will go and get some mother’s day cards too

WreckTangled · 03/03/2018 09:24

I cook the mince if it's a bit frozen but I have other easy options so I'm not worried.

I'm doing a click and collect order tomorrow from Tesco because I can imagine the supermarkets will be heaving as it'll be the first day without snow (hopefully)

Lonely that sounds shit

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/03/2018 11:47

😡 lonely if he’s home and not working he needs to step up. You can tell him you can’t afford to feed him? You house him, i’m correct you own the house? He has to do something!

Just rung my mum. She’s just heard from the hospital that my dad has been discharged. But waiting for meds and district nurse visits to be arranged so will be a few hours until he can come home. He’s much more with it now Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/03/2018 11:56

Good news Love, it will take a while to sort the meds out though.

I’ve amended my online shop to make up for things I’m going to buy later. No point buying twice.

WreckTangled · 03/03/2018 11:57

I'm trying to do my online shop for tomorrow but I'm so uninspired. Have been trough cook books and still not getting anywhere.

mammymammyIRL · 03/03/2018 12:14

Love glad to hear your dads doing well, anaesthetic or uti can cause confusion as everyone else says

We had more snow overnight after a thaw yesterday evening. In my driving career I've crashed twice both times on black ice I won't be going out.

H&M will not apply discount if I return size that doesn't fit and it's been discounted. Littlewoods offering 20% off €75 spent and I've got €40 from dm so I'll look there, and misguided have 50% off but I didn't like anything there. Sorry don't mean to be enabling.
Littlewoods discount only on clothing & footwear so I can't get my soup maker with it Sad

Lonely is your dp depressed by shop closing? He has a family to support too. I know technically the girls aren't his responsibility but ye came as a package

Only planned spends will be €10 in card if party ds is attending goes ahead and €1.60 on newspaper if I ask dh if will get it for me and if they've been delivered.

Girlie your boy cat and our boy cat are very alike

Here are our ddogs enjoying the snow ❄️

Mammy I love them!!

mammymammyIRL · 03/03/2018 12:48

Thanks wreck so do I!
Bought her as a pup, he was a rescue and he has my heart more now!

Laska5772 · 03/03/2018 12:52

Like teddies in the snow!

Wolfcub · 03/03/2018 13:01

Good news Love
lovely dogs Mammy

I just realised dh didn’t drink the half bottle of ale left over from my beef casserole yesterday so I’m giving an ale fruit loaf a go. Don’t have 100% of the correct ingredients so I’m winging it !

Nofilter · 03/03/2018 13:03

Hi Ladies!

Well, my February frigaleering went well. I spent £1672 less than the previous month (my online shopping habit on crap I didn’t need was out of control!)

It’s 3rd today and I still haven’t been to the bank and filled all my envelopes but I’m wondering if that’s the easiest way of budgeting as I’m not so keen carrying all this cash around with me all the time.

Can I ask what methods you all use to keep track of spending? It definitely helped by seeing how much I spent over the days on the various things - like knowing how much I had left for online shopping and buying or not buying accordingly.

I want to keep this going and not slip backwards so need a plan...

It’s been such an eye opener to how much I need to live on and how massive my monthly bills are, they will half when we move to the farm I can’t wait for that!!

Aldi shopping is a standout discovery from Feb what you actually get - a heaped trolley for £60 would easily have been £150-200 in Sainsburys. Their fruit pastilles are totally gross though haha

Hope everyone’s managing in the snow I feel so sorry for my horse bless her!

How are your Invisalign going Em are they the fixed ones? I’m not on those yet still on the temp clear ones... and forgetting to put them in all the time sigh!

Have a lovely weekend xx

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/03/2018 13:19

Note pads the easiest for me. It goes everywhere with me. That’s an amazing saving 😳

Cagliostro · 03/03/2018 13:39

Gorgeous doggos, what breed is the one in front?

Waiting in for the fridge to be delivered. Snow all gone. I need to leave the fridge to settle a bit I think? Luckily the old one is still cold so don’t need to fill it immediately.

MeadowHay · 03/03/2018 13:51

Love Hope your dad is on the mend now.

Lonely I agree that's not a pity party at all, I'm fuming for you!! Your DP needs to step up, that's ridiculous, everything is not all your responsibility on your own!

Mammy Your dogs are beautiful! I'm so jealous, I want one loadssss. I'm hoping I have a super-easy baby and I take to motherhood straight away so that I still want and can look after a dog and get one...lol Grin. Not sure how realistic that is...

We have had hardly any snow at all and it's pretty much just been business as usual here. It's beaming lovely sunlight now.

Today I will probably do the online food shop a bit later but no other spends. Resting and doing some chores today whilst DH is out with some friends then we will be going volunteering this evening. Dreading it a bit tbh as it is outside outreach work and I don't do well in the cold but will need to suck it up as our service users don't have a choice about being out in the cold after all.

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/03/2018 13:53

That’s an outstanding saving nofilter . I’d probably do pen and paper or there must be a mobile app which does that? Someone here will know.

How are things going mammy? Have you spoken to your not so DH yet?

DP is snoozing on the sofa. DDs are playing. I may close my eyes too.

Our snow is disappearing in the rain now. It was nice for a couple of days, now we need to get back to normal

SnugglySnerd · 03/03/2018 14:01

Nofilter that is an amazing saving!

QuiteCleanBandit · 03/03/2018 14:10

Thats absolutely brilliant nofilter
Well done !
Its scary how easy it is to spend on nothing much.
I went from 2K OD every month plus 1K on CC to staying in credit Shock plus CC all paid off plus savings circa 1K per month.
Strangely our lifestyle hasnt changed Confused in terms of quality just no "invisible spending" and no food waste .
I pay everything by DD,including savings .
Food/petrol money withdrawn and divided into weeks.
Then decide on personal spends which we each transfer into our own cashcard accounts(No OD)
Whats left is in the Kitty 🐱 and I keep a notebook and tally each day .

QuiteCleanBandit · 03/03/2018 14:13

Thanks for the veg burger recipe em
Need a bit of food inspiration so will give it a try.

mammymammyIRL · 03/03/2018 14:21

Cag he's a Japanese Akita my dm thought we'd get rid when we had dd like you throw out a piece of rubbish ShockHmm

Love yes I've said my piece well not all of it but enough to get my point across, he's a model dad today Angry I will be reiterating what I've said and requesting a place with mediation and seeking legal advice regarding mortgage house etc

Nofilter I use ynab I know people say it's just a fancy spreadsheet but it's worked wonders for me. It also gives me a lot of the info I'll need for mediation too.
How's things with your dbro?
I've got a referral link for a free month if you want it Pm me
