That woman makes me laugh em. I'd love that to play out and see how far she gets.

QuiteCleanBandit · 02/03/2018 19:53

Your colleague can apply for a career break em -your employer doesnt have to grant it though and it will be unpaid.
I have a colleague who has been granted this -for personal reasons. No one batted an eyelid or whined it was unfair .
She sounds very childish -cringe at putting that in an email but also your boss mentioning it to you ???
It would be deal with quickly and quietly here -HR boom!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/03/2018 20:31

Evening good all ☺

Yeah wreck had to catch up on care planning etc, v v boring!! I also spent quite a long time sorting all my work supplies out which was equally boring 😪

That's good about the apartment em

Was a bit concerned about girl cat earlier as she seemed to be going into the litter tray but not doing anything, she did it a few times and I was concerned she had a blockage so rang the vets. All the vets were shut!! The nearest one is in the next town and said it would be £140 just to see her 😲 anyway I spoke to a vet who said it sounded very much like cystitis which normally rectifies itself naturally. So have gone down the watch and wait route, she seems completely fine in herself so not overly concerned atm.

WreckTangled · 02/03/2018 20:33

Our vets are all closed too girlie they just have emergencies only at one of their branches. Hope she recovers quickly. WreckCat doesn't like the snow and hasn't been too happy about having to go out to do his business!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/03/2018 20:37

Yeah I was forcing them to go out Ystd to go to the loo but girl cat was having none of it!! I cracked this morning and got the litter tray out of the shed, luckily had some litter left as well.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/03/2018 21:21

Just spent £34 on Amazon had to add and take things out of the basket in order to get the free delivery which was a bit annoying. Bought some books for dd and some other bits and pieces.

ememem84 · 02/03/2018 22:08

girlie hope girliecat is ok xx

I’ve just come home from dinner with a friend. And gin. And wine. I say come home. Stumbled home (friend is a bad influence) and catface was waiting on the hallway steps for me. With a look of “and where the fuck have you been mother...?!” On her face. Apparently an evening with dh and ds was too much for catface.

Dinner was lovely. Italian place with dfriend. Carbonara and tiramisu. Yum. And a wine.

We had gin and a wine before dinner. Yippee.

Cagliostro · 02/03/2018 22:24

Mrs :) Thanks have to admit I was glad it’s not on today, mainly as I wanted to watch (we never really go to his running events but this is different!) and there’s no way I could’ve stood out in the cold with the baby today. Just hoping he will be able to make the rearranged one, he doesn’t normally have that day off.

Loving all the cat pics lately 😻

NSD for me.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/03/2018 22:46

Oooo I think I've worked out how to attach pics from my phone!! Here's boy cat chilling out next to me 😊

Thanks again, everyone. It's good to be back!❤🙋

Loving the cat pictures, Em and Girlie, and Laska's sitting room too. I can't believe that colleague of Em's though! ShockHonestly, some people!!

Cag, sorry to hear that about Cagletini. The same thing happened to DS when he was about 6 weeks old and I'll never forget it. Other passengers actually shouted at the bus driver, as he was going way too fast on the corners, but he acted as if he didn't care.Angry I took DS to the GP for a check up and then I rang up the depot to make a complaint about the driver.

NSD here. As predicted, my Sainsburys order didn't come, due to bad weather. I can't work out if they've cancelled it completely or postponed it until the weather's better though, from the wording of their text, and the order is still showing up on the website. It's looking as if Monday will be our first day without any fresh snow fall, but I think it's still going to be tricky getting around, as it's still going to be under 5 degrees. Ho, hum!

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/03/2018 07:31

I’m really hoping it warms up and the snow melts soon. The roads were still treacherous here and visitors were asked not to go into the hospital yesterday so none of us visited my dad Sad He doesn’t use a mobile either as he can’t figure it out!

I have an awful headache, I think DD2 got up in the night too. I don’t think DP is going to be very happy with me as he’s got up with her a fair bit this week. I think the headache may be part of the finally winding down from work. I feel horrible!

We’re going to need milk and we’ve run out of yoghurts. The world will end without yoghurts here for the DDs 😂

needastrongone · 03/03/2018 07:36

What does dd feel isn't fun about ballet anymore life?

Morning.

Lost track of the thread yesterday as I had a busy day.

Sainsbury's £75
Dd training £16
Cleaners £30
Sports massage £20 (that hurt and I'm a tough old sod really re pain)

Went to the theatre with dd last night and had a curry beforehand. Lovely evening and brilliant play. Pissed with DH and DS who had tickets and dipped out but though, their loss not ours and I'm not dwelling on it.

needastrongone · 03/03/2018 07:41

Hope your dads okay love, I'm sure there's quite a bit of stress coming out of you at the minute re this and the job.

We've had more snow overnight, it can officially go away now! My coach has set me a tough treadmill workout instead of my outdoor run, I'll get bored of this though, I hate treadmills.

Me and my running buddy ran off road in it yesterday for an hour, it was so funny and hard, we were laughing our heads off and knackered at the end. The easterly wind was incredible GrinGrin

Loveabaconsandwich · 03/03/2018 07:56

My mum just emailed Hmm to say the nurse she spoke to yesterday said they were concerned about my dad’s mental health as he is much more confused than he should be and he won’t be discharged yet.

Unescorted · 03/03/2018 08:01

I am also sick of this weather. I have been working from home since Tuesday and have cabin fever. If it was just the snow or wind or cold it would be ok.....but it is all 3. Our fence blew down, my parents greenhouse has blown over and a tree has blown over onto their cars (they weren't in them). Their washing machine pipes froze and burst and snow has got into the attic....Bin night was Wednesday - they weren't collected got stuck in the snow and now have blown over. Not just one bin but loads of them. it is going to be a long week tidying up the mess.

WreckTangled · 03/03/2018 08:06

Love could be a uti?

Dd is being horrible this morning. So rude. Ds is being lovely despite having to miss his friends party later because of the snow.

I forgot to get the mince out of the freezer last night but have other options for dinner. Either bacon and mozzarella pasta or chorizo spaghetti.

needastrongone · 03/03/2018 08:10

My mil was terribly confused with a UTI love, she ended up actually being hospitalised for 3 days. Could be that.

needastrongone · 03/03/2018 08:12

unescorted, I'm fed up too, you and me both.

wrecked, the mince would defrost and I fry mine off from frozen if it's not quite there anyway. I'm probably risking certain death though.....Grin

needastrongone · 03/03/2018 08:12

Not that I eat it anymore, but still make it for others.

needastrongone · 03/03/2018 08:15

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/03/2018 08:28

Waitrose cancelled my order too so we have to go and do a small shop. I paid for part of my shop with a voucher and they’ve debited the balance 🙄.

Unescorted That’s awful. When do temperatures rise for you? We should get our thaw tm.

needastrongone · 03/03/2018 08:32

Weirdly, Ocado delivered in the midst of a snowstorm on Thursday for us and I genuinely don't know how they did it...Hmm

Laska5772 · 03/03/2018 08:40

Do you ever get complaints Need?

love I hope your Dad is ok..UTI does sound a probability so I hope It is 'just' that ( not a real hope of him being il..IFYSWIM).

I have cleared out so much stuff in the last few days .. but its not out, out of course, just in piles waiting to go to tip or charity shop. so the house does look a mess in some areas. But this clear out all started with the lounge decorating and has now moved to other rooms,.. We have eleventy billion books to go ! Also all my old course notes and other stuff, stored and never looked at again.. even things we brought with us 12 years ago never actually unpacked and used but just shoved in cupboards under the eaves..

I am going to start of whats left of DS stuff today and we will be breaking up some old well bashed MFI units in his old bedroom units to go , as that will be the next room to be decorated now, ( room is now supposedly destined as a 'den' for DH it seems... Hmm) .

I have to say that even doing this makes me feel really 'empty nesty' and a bit sa again, as although of course his room has changed i have avoided emptying whats left in these units since DS left home several years ago now .. But i know i have to tackle it . DS has taken what he wants he says . I am also slightly worried what nefarious /gruesome items I may find lurking in his ex-teenage drawers still.!! ( perhaps I should do the kitchen instead!!)....

Arggh parenthood feelings/anxiety/guilt still grip even when they are this old and have flown..Be warned!
