It is amazing how much more easily we'll spend on credit, I'm so happy to have a card cleared, wood pellet delivery went on it but it will be repaid before interest is charged have 5/8 of it waiting but not paying it until dh transfers his weekly amount to joint account just to be certain mortgage payment doesn't suffer.

mammymammyIRL · 03/03/2018 14:25

Two mile walk done in my cosy hiking boos now going to have a little nap

ememem84 · 03/03/2018 14:26

mammy beautiful doggos.

meadow I had a fairly easy birth and (touch wood so far) a fairly easy chilled out baby. I could not handle a dog as well.

To be fair though ds and catface wind each other up. She meowed all night last night. At 3 I got up and she trotted into the living room. Dh had left ds’ sheepskin on the couch. So catface has nowhere to sleep. Moved it but she continued to meow. I think maybe the new neighbours upstairs have cats. Maybe she can sense them.

quite I’ve been pinteresting veggie and vegan recipes. Some look yum. The sweet potato and bean burgers were a Pinterest one.

£27 riding today. Pony was rather frisky.

Dh has started “packing”. Sigh. This means everything is everywhere. I’m sending him out in a bit for boxes and to take stuff to fils (his paddle board surfboards golf clubs etc)

Ale cakes look alright. Will test when they’ve cooled - they last wrapped up for six weeks apparently so plenty to keep us going through the long winter we appear to be having

I glanced at the dog photo and thought they were shetland ponies Grin

ememem84 · 03/03/2018 14:43

Nice looking cakes
Lovely dogs
Good for you mammy, stay strong.
Lonely, you are justified there. It's meant to be a partnership. Are you still ebaying everything too,?

Overtime this morning £100.
Dh spent £109 in sainsbury but some will be paid back from DC.

Need, she finds the repetition boring. We've agreed she will finish grade 3, go to point club in the holidays and I will investigate lessons for after G3. See how that goes.

Off to archery club soon £6

Ok so all rubbish DS left in old desk etc sorted and taken to tip , the old units are clear now and can be broken up and also taken to tip.. that is not happening today though. Nothing really frightening or Urgh! in his drawers so that's a relief.. except a packet of Durex not where they should have been when he 'accidentally' made DGS with exgirlfriend .. I feel sad about 'his' room no longer being his though.. but then then he did move out some time ago ...Confused feelings as I said.

nofilter I use YNAB also .. it really revolutionised my spending and enabled me to pay off credit card about 3 years go and although I still use one , I've paid it off every month since.. such a relief! we also manged to pay our mortgage off by frugalling madly and changing our spending to allow big over payments and I now even save which was un-heard of !

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/03/2018 15:05

I think you can do a vegan fruit tea bread, or the welsh have bara brith. They’ll all freeze well. I hated them all when I was little now I love a tea bread.

Those dogs are enormous.

mammymammyIRL · 03/03/2018 15:18

Quite they're big bruisers alright.

WreckTangled · 03/03/2018 15:46

Will out of date facial hair bleach be ok? Dd just told me I have a beard Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/03/2018 15:53

Dry razor every morning. Dh saw me using my led face mask one night and commented on my really long hair on my chin.

Then he called me captain birdseye.

Everyone’s a critic these days.

WreckTangled · 03/03/2018 15:56

But then I'll get stubble?!

ememem84 · 03/03/2018 15:59

I’ve started packing. Books are boxed up. Pictures are down. Ornaments and decorative things bubble wrapped up.

When dh gets back I’m going to pop upstairs and see if the new buyers have any boxes they don’t need.

Tweezers ,Wreck everytime.. dont believe that rubbish that they just grow back thicker . thats just an old wives tale

needastrongone · 03/03/2018 16:03

My DH would have a flat head, where I had hit him with a spade if he said that to me wreckedAngryAngry.

lonely, you are entitled to be overwhelmed and upset. Not fair. Why no work? I think perhaps the house is making you anxious because the money thing is making you anxious iyswim?

I've got a massive Pinterest folder of vegan recipes. I use it loads. I'm not missing meat or dairy in any way at all. Helps if you enjoy cooking.

Cakes look great!

I couldn't cope with a dog and young dc, I also find them easier when the family share the load, which they all do when they are at home.

Wow nofilter, that's such an amazing saving. Bloody well done. I'm afraid I write it all down like fluffy does too. You are doing fab.

meadow, that's a super attitude re your voluntary work. Perhaps if you rest and wear lots of layers, that will help. Good for you.

Love the dogs mammy, I'm a dog person rather than cat, but the caveat is the level of work and commitment they are.

No one dare complain laska, which may or may not surprise youGrin I can understand your feelings re your DS, I'm getting close to losing mine in the next few years.

DH and dd have been to Ikea for new furniture for her bedroom. They bought a cactus Grin

I've been busy cooking, I'm not great at sitting down it has to be said but DH is using my car today. I've made hummus, roasted fennel and tomato soup and banana and blueberry loaf. All vegan.

WreckTangled · 03/03/2018 16:15

Need it was dd, dh wouldn't dare!

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/03/2018 16:19

If you it every day it’s ok. Tweezing is good but you need a really good light to get them all.

needastrongone · 03/03/2018 16:20

Oh ha ha, I'd use a wooden spoon then rather than a spadeGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

WreckTangled · 03/03/2018 16:21

Shock I could tweeze! There's a million of them it's a proper lady's moustache Grin I haven't got anything on my chin it's quite fine hair but my hair is dark

ememem84 · 03/03/2018 16:28

wreck maybe not an immediate solution but threading?

OP posts:
MeadowHay · 03/03/2018 17:20

Wreck I get my whole face threaded about once a month or so and then pluck the odd stray in-between. I don't find it particularly painful apart from the upper lip area which sometimes makes my eyes water, but then the beauticians have seen it all before and are usually from Middle Eastern/South Asian backgrounds too and do their own full-face threading themselves so they understand!

Need Your cooking is lush!! I feel like I really need more confidence to branch out a bit with my cooking but I get really anxious if I look at a recipe and it looks complicated or seems to take awhile. Eek. Are there any specific recipe books you'd recommend? Maybe I need some more, I quite enjoy trying new recipes out from a book or whatever, feel more confident with it there next to me and carrying it out step by step. I have made Jack Monroe's chocolate chip cookies this afternoon, have not baked anything in many months, DH will cheddarded when he gets home. I always make them too fat though. Then I am planning to make [[https://www.delishknowledge.com/gnocchi-with-roasted-cauliflower-and-lemon/ this]] for dinner if DH will be getting time early enough for me to sort it all before we go out. Yum.

I am going for veggie Sunday lunch tomorrow with my DM and DB at a lovely little veggie café nearby. My DB wanted us to go out for food (we are all such foodies Grin ) and I know my DM has been wanting to go to this place for Sunday lunch for months since DH and I went and I was raving about it. Can't wait, yum.

WreckTangled · 03/03/2018 17:36

Argh I know I should but I'm way too scared for threading!

Tonight's dinner was homemade bacon and mozzarella pasta and pudding will be a strawberry(frozen) and peach(tinned) oat crumble. I didn't really have enough butter for the crumble mix so hopefully it'll be ok!

LonelyOversharer · 03/03/2018 17:52

Dp and I have had words. Rather, I talked and he sat there looking glum. I just said that he knows how stressed I get when we are strapped, and that I could simply not understand why he chooses not to do work when he already has it sitting there. He gets £18/hr too. I just said why could he not find it in himself to do 10 hours work per week ... he was later seen unprompted at his computer. He cannot work a full time contract as he has chronic pain from a back injury, but 10 hours a week is doable and would change our finances dramatically.

I do own my own house, but dp has put many £££ into it too (it is, and will remain in my sole name). Since we have no rent or mortgage we can get by on very little, but not this little.

I am going to apply for any/all supermarket jobs I can. Do you need proper qualifications to work in care homes? Only theres lots of carers jobs available round here. I mean, I'm great at dressing, feeding and wiping bums, but I guess there's more to it than that? I just said to dp that if I got a "proper hours" job, then he would have to do the childcare and school runs, which we usually do together.

I went out! First time in 4 days. It went like this £40 fuel, £20 Morrisons, £81 Aldi (all food!), and £8 chicken food. Hopefully won't need to shop until right before dd3's birthday, back end of next week. I also have 12 shiny pints of proper milk in the fridge.

I think you're right need the money thing sets me off, and then the anxiety spirals. I hope I feel better about things soon.

MeadowHay · 03/03/2018 17:58

Wreck If you don't want to, don't! I wish I could just leave mine but I have dark, thick hair and I get too anxious about it. If I felt confident enough to leave it then I would. I feel like I have to and that upsets me too.

Lonely NHS usually want previous care experience and sometimes qualifications too but private & non-profit care providers usually don't. They will often train you in such a way as that you can gain recognised qualifications whilst working for them. The adverts will say if they want experience and if not then you should be fine applying for them, there's a massive shortage of staff in these sectors so it shouldn't be too difficult to find a job as a carer, although usually you need to be able to drive as it's mostly home-based work, not sure if you can drive? Some agencies will allow people to cycle instead if they can't drive.
