I've ground to a halt as not feeling that good 😟 back and legs are aching for some reason, am having a lie down on the sofa with a hot water bottle! Annoying as got loads to do!

Despite there being a red alert for weather here it's actually fine with minimal snow!!

Laska5772 · 01/03/2018 13:42

Teeny snow flurries just tarting here .. we have just been out and bought a Telly! also chocolate in case of being snowed in

Wolfcub · 01/03/2018 13:48

Lonely it was our first choice after he failed the free grammar exam. It has some problems but it’s the best of the only three poor local schools so we are as happy as we can be and he’s extatic, it’s a school well suited to him in terms of the subjects it does, a lot of which wouldn’t have been available at grammar.

It’s moved from snow to a gale here. All our water pipes (out not in) are frozen so can’t do any washing or put anything down the sink. Efforts to defrost have so far proved unsuccessful

mammymammyIRL · 01/03/2018 14:05

Flurry of snow when I left work, nothing at home. Workphone home with me, it probably won't ring as it's given as emergency contact.

Pay day today- I'm still not back to full pay so nothing to spare this week

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/03/2018 14:11

Cag have you got any gift ideas for a 12yo birthday gift for a girl who loves anime? I am completely clueless!!

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/03/2018 14:29

Proper snow here now, we must have a whole 2cm. My three year is still playing outside in her proper snow outfit and is happy and toasty. The rest of us have wimped out as too cold and we don’t have snow trousers. Normally no need!

Hoping DPs work get shut tomorrow today so we can all have a lie in. DD1 has an inset day.

My dad is now in recovery and hoping for an update soon

ememem84 · 01/03/2018 14:57

May have just slipped onto hush and ordered a skirt. £45 ruched skirt in stripe.

Watching the crown on Netflix.

It snowed quite a bit here last night and it's been snowing most of the day. At 4 o'clock the entire country is shutting down. All public transport has stopped and everyone's been ordered inside until 3 p.m. tomorrow. Storm Emma is due to arrive from Portugal and when it mixes with the cold weather front, we're due epic amounts of snow. DH trekked down to the shops earlier so we've plenty of food. He looked like an Arctic explorer coming back, with a rucksack of food on his back. DD is starting to get bored now so I'm going to make a jigsaw with her and do some art.

WreckTangled · 01/03/2018 15:55

We've slid into a wall twice. Struggling to get out of the village to get the dc from school

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/03/2018 16:04

2 hours sledging and in freezing and shattered. Schools here starting to announce closures for tomorrow.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/03/2018 16:15

NSD.

Tcb grocery offer on ketchup. I’m getting two.

I hope he’s ok love.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/03/2018 16:31

That's good it went ahead love.

tinyradish · 01/03/2018 17:08

£70 today - monthly car insurance.

Snow here but not enough to cause too much chaos.

Loveabaconsandwich · 01/03/2018 18:15

All the roads near us have come to a standstill and have been shut. It has taken my mum, DNiece2 and brother two hours so far to do a 30 minute trip to the hospital and still not quite there. Not sure we will be leaving the house tomorrow to visit as it is so treacherous, I think we now have 10cm which is completely unheard of.

LonelyOversharer · 01/03/2018 18:35

Well, dp tried to get out. He wasn't gone long. Two miles from us there was a 5 car pile up, and a gritter rolled onto it's roof Shock. So a farmer helped dp swivel the car round to get it pointing in the right direction home. So we cannot get milk, cannot get to dd1 (I'm getting twitchy, I haven't seen her since tuesday), and are basically stuck.

So we walked the dogs along the path a bit, dc did a lot of snow angels, and we had a freezer tea. Plus side is I've had 9 eggs in 2 days.

Spends: £20 car tax (c1, a year), storage unit £80 for the month. wreck have you damage? Or just slithering at slow speed?

Our schools are all closed tomorrow, not that we could get there anyway.

Stay safe south-westers and those in Ireland, it's going to be a tough night.

Unescorted · 01/03/2018 18:39

moan happy belated birthday. Mammy I think I missed your as well. If it is any consolation I miss the kids ones as well.

Need sweet pony picture.

Wreck I saw your crash on the snow thread. Hope it is just a scrape.

Love hope it went ok for your dad and he makes a speedy recovery.

Work have been awesome and let me work from home for the last 3 days. Which is as well because the heating at work has decided that it is too cold to work. Whoever decided that keeping the condensers in a carpark that is open to the elements was a good idea needs to go to m&e school. Now a mains has burst outside in the street and it is freezing into a pop up ice rink. I think I will work from home again tomorrow.

Unescorted · 01/03/2018 18:44

girlie there are some amazing pens they use for anime. They cost about £3 each. Cotic? Or ProMarker. Get a fat and a thin black and a couple colours. They don't leave streaks so you get the typical flat finish.

WreckTangled · 01/03/2018 18:48

The car appears to be ok. Will look properl after the snow has gone. We slid down a steep hill and into a wall then we were wedged in the verge and couldn't get our but managed in the end.

ememem84 · 01/03/2018 19:05

Sweet potato and black bean burgers with fried onions cheese and salad for dinner. Yummm

Dh came home at 3. I am exhausted today I think because I couldn’t go out.

Cagliostro · 01/03/2018 19:06

Not a huge amount of snow here but it’s fucking cold. It is causing a lot of pain (hands and knees) and I am just so so glad that this is our last winter here, with no heating. It is really miserable.

I’ll catch up later

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/03/2018 19:07

Oh dear wreck, hope there isn't too much damage.
Gritter on its roof is some going.

Unescorted · 01/03/2018 19:19

It is scary when all traction goes. I am glad you are ok. Cars can be fixed.

Life you are right there. How on earth does it tip over? They are designed with a low center of gravity to make them more stable.

Dh and DD are on their way home with a shop bought curry. I couldn't be bothered cooking tonight.

QuiteCleanBandit · 01/03/2018 19:25

Oh Cag
No heating !
Bloody hell -Im barely coping with heating on (Raynauds)
Earily quiet here on the roads -got the bus as its so treacherous .
Got home in daylight so checked chickens who had all gone to bed early Smile Pophole shut so cosy against the bitter wind that is blowing up a storm here .

Calamari with sweet pot fries ,peas and salad for dinner.
I really like the sound of those veg burgers em did you make them?
I saw that Hush skirt -cant work out if it would be short on me as Im very leggy and cant stand having to pull skirts down
Thank goodness its Friday tomorrow
Stay safe everyoneBrew

needastrongone · 01/03/2018 19:42

I'm sorry for the bump wrecked, it's scary losing control. It's just a car, no harm done, cars can be fixed.

Love sweet potato and black bean burgers.

We've all hat tricky weather for the most part haven't we? I even ran on the treadmill tonight...

Forgot £25 for nails, metallic therefore a touch more.

Glad the op went well, that's good news.

needastrongone · 01/03/2018 19:45
