Need Yes it's bucketing here. Sorry about that. This must be our one day of rain for this year. It's really odd to look out of the window and see it like that. For bonus fun that means loads of people will probably drive to work.

If you come again, then probably hiring a bike is the thing to do. It's a bit late to tell you that now.

Do you think there's such a thing in the world as sexy waterproof trousers? I would like to get nice ones that I could wear all the time so I wouldn't be freezing every time I go outside.

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/11/2017 08:53

Sexy waterproof trousers. If only.

Sainsbury today but don't need much. £10 for footy as ds has won a match day experience. I get to spend a tenner for the pleasure of freezing my wotsits off talking to footy players and supporters - joy

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/11/2017 09:05

#blessed life

I wouldn't Google sexy waterproof trousers. You'll get more than you bargained for.

I've decided to use my nectar points on fuel & transfer the money I would have spent into an empty savings account for the Christmas shop. Sainsburys is just too expensive compared to Waitrose.

mammymammyIRL · 04/11/2017 09:11

Place marking - I've read as far as here!
Cambridge is beautiful spent a day there a few years ago.

Spent £70 + £5 tip on a tattoo yesterday and £55 between bus/taxi/drinks last night. I saved with my Christmas club at work all year so I don't feel any guilt

ememem84 · 04/11/2017 09:16

sunny nope. No such thing.

It was chucking it down earlier. Going riding in a bit so will need to take waterproofs with me.

MissingMo · 04/11/2017 09:17

Sleep happened here too @thewaitress. Maybe something in the air. Dd slept 11-8.30 by some miracle. It's a shame I couldn't sleep until 2am though grr.

Should be a LSD, maybe a quick top up in the Co op but I do think we have enough at home. New fridge freezer coming tomorrow so must remember to take the freezer food to dsis chest freezer today.

SunnyLikeThursday · 04/11/2017 09:19

I figured out that maybe Rohan is the place. We have a Rohan shop so I will go and try that. They have Ecco shoes on their website, so maybe they are used to people like me.

Cagliostro · 04/11/2017 09:23

That's a shame about the rain need - walking would have been a lovely way to explore. I think under the circumstances I'd end up in a taxi now TBH if the weather is increasing traffic.

It's horrible here too which is annoying as I wanted to join the others at ballroom and show off the baby :o I barely ever go as even when DH is working he has enough time to take DD1 (even if he has to put her on the bus home on her own after). So thought it may as well be today. But nope I will stay dry indoors thank you!

DD2 is sleeping quite well really - fed at 3 and 6. Haven't even attempted to put her in her Moses basket though, it currently houses spare nappies, wipes and clothes. She's currently sleeping on my arm.

Cagliostro · 04/11/2017 09:24

Oooh mammy how exciting what tattoo did you get?

MyWhatICallNameChange · 04/11/2017 09:37

This is a very fast moving thread!

What tattoo did you get mammy? I've been wanting to get one for years but never have time.

Not very frugal yesterday. We went to see Harry Potter & The Cursed Child so spent £27 on train fare, £42 on food and £97 on merch. Oops! We are huge HP fans, I knew we wouldn't be able resist the merch!

Nothing planned for the weekend except watching the second series of Stranger Things and food shopping so shouldn't spend a lot.

Christmas wise, I've bought a couple of things. As long as my lot have pigs in blankets and chocolate they're happy food wise! Grin

needastrongone · 04/11/2017 09:45

Quick post but sunny, if the weather is mainly dry then Next do these amazing fleece lined tights and leggings. Both DD and me use them loads in the winter as we are out in the cold weather so much. Especially as a first layer, they are very effective.

LonelyOversharer · 04/11/2017 09:52

love before you spend a fortune on new duvets and the like, is it worth trying a good antihistamine last thing at night to see if it's allergy? I have a bad dust allergy that appears each time I stir up dust/stuff. I got some prescription anti histamines from the doctors for dusty days they are brilliant.

I have made my wrist very sore winding yarn! How stupid. I must be getting old. But I have decided that I can part with a lot of it, if it sells.

sunny yes Rohan is your best bet. My mum wears their all weather type trousers all the time. And I bet they do long leg too.

Thanks need that's a fantastic idea. I'll try it.

I built this sunshine monitor to find out why I get so little sun in winter. It turns out that the sun is out there, but I'm not getting it because I get too cold when I leave the house. I seriously need to get warm clothes. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Good luck getting into town, and staying dry when you get there.

mammymammyIRL · 04/11/2017 09:55

Namechange & cag completely outing myself here but these are my two tattoos Grin

I'm just getting up! I never stay in bed ever & now I've done it twice in one week Grin

How do I find those on the Next website? I can't get them from a search. ta.

SunnyLikeThursday · 04/11/2017 09:58

Lonely Thanks, that's good to know. That was what I was looking at. I think I'll give them a go.

ememem84 · 04/11/2017 10:05

Agree with need fleece lined tights/leggings are the best. I wear them under my jodhpurs in the winter.

mammy cute tattoos.

WreckTangled · 04/11/2017 10:07

£58 Lidl £4.50 wilko. Will put £40 fuel in and buy an apple crumble in a bit.

SunnyLikeThursday · 04/11/2017 10:09

Our washing machine stinks of turps, so apparently I need to leave the door open while somehow managing to get the washing done. Fun!

SunnyLikeThursday · 04/11/2017 10:10

For a week. I forgot that bit.

needastrongone · 04/11/2017 10:10

Premium thermogen brushed leggings/tights. Can’t think why you didn’t think to put that into a search GrinGrin they are circa £12 but worth it.

SunnyLikeThursday · 04/11/2017 10:16

LOL! Oddly, I didn't. They don't seem to come in different lengths which may not work for me. I've tried the M&S equivalent, but they don't come in lengths either and so when I pull them right up, the ankle band is round my calf and is so tight it cuts off the circulation. #attractive

mammymammyIRL · 04/11/2017 10:18

Reduce my spends last night by £7.80 just counted up my change Grin

needastrongone · 04/11/2017 10:21

The leggings then maybe with thermal socks?
