snuggly Wow that's fantastic what age are ds and dd now? I hate twins being referred to as the twins as if they aren't separate people!!

SnugglySnerd · 12/10/2017 11:58

They are 7 months. I'm sure it was a fluke and won't happen again for ages but fingers crossed...

Cagliostro · 12/10/2017 12:09

Hope it's a lasting thing snuggly!

And while I remember, just what is a Snerd?

So disorganised today. Left the house for the first time since Monday evening. Will be spending on food (and fabric conditioner :o)

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/10/2017 12:14

Snuggly I bet you feel so much better for the extra sleep.

Usually I'd be well into winter proofing the house & its proper sunshine here. We've moved bedrooms from three external walls to one & I'm throwing the duvet off myself at night.

SnugglySnerd · 12/10/2017 12:34

Cag it's a made up bird in a Julia Donaldson book!

Shaping up to be a nsd here.
New red dwarf tonight. Love it

SunnyLikeThursday · 12/10/2017 14:39

Love I'm a bit late with this but paracetamol suppositories are great in that situation. You can get them with a private prescription if it happens again.

Em Was that a photo of you that you posted?

North you must be near me. Are you at Papworth Hospital by any chance? Just ignore if it would out you.

I'm recovering from Beavers last night. I had 8 children all to myself as two adults didn't show up. I don't know how school teachers do it tbh. Zzzz

Cagliostro · 12/10/2017 14:40

Oh I must have missed that, love Julia Donaldson though! Always fun spotting the hidden gruffalos :o I wonder if there will be another TV adaptation this year.

needastrongone · 12/10/2017 14:55

Sunny, I'm in Cambridge in a few weeks, DD is at the Uni doing an archeology master class. I'm going to have to spend a few hours wandering and I wondering if there was anywhere specific you would recommend to visit?

Not read the thread as today is a touch mad.

We've had a visually impaired person request to join our running club, I'm on the committee and responsible for responding. It's causing much discussion. We usually run 6/7 miles on different routes each week and only have one qualified guide runner, so it would all fall on that person. Tough call. The person in question can't actually manage that distance at present anyway but it's caused some thought...

needastrongone · 12/10/2017 15:01

Ps really not fair of other adults to not turn up to something like Beavers.

WreckTangled · 12/10/2017 15:20

Yes there is a tv adaptation we have the book but I can't remover which one it is off the top of my head

Cagliostro · 12/10/2017 15:44

I think I'd like Superworm or Highway Rat or Snail and the Whale next. Although any are brilliant really. Also I doubt they would as it's not an Axel Scheffler illustrated one but I LOVE Sharing a Shell!

Ugh cramping like a fucker today. Not in a labour way before anyone starts placing bets. Just annoying really. Got to take Caglets to Badgers shortly. Will sit in wetherspoons and chill. Wish I'd brought something to read as I don't want to risk using the battery up on my phone because my bus pass is on the app!

WreckTangled · 12/10/2017 15:47

It's the highway rat!

ememem84 · 12/10/2017 16:01

sunny yes- me and my giant beer from Florence last year. I was suprised at how huge it was!

Nsd.

We went into town. Ds and I had a look around the shops. Then visited Work. Was really strange popping in. And not having to do any work!!

Met dh, registered ds - signed the big red book. He is all official now.

Then visited dh’s Work. More compliments for ds.

As I got back to the car dm rang. They were on the beach!! Ds and I went to sit with them for a bit. So ds is 2 weeks 4 days old and has been on the beach. Also took him in the sea. Just dipped his feet.

thewaitresses · 12/10/2017 16:52

WTF!!!!!???? Hidden gruffalos? I did NOT know that!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/10/2017 17:00

Thats tricky with the visually impaired person Need am guessing all clubs have to be inclusive though, is there specific training to go on to be a guided runner? Could a few more of your group do the training?

I have no idea how teachers do it either Sunny they must be crazy Wink

Work day today, think have managed a NSD.

Sun has come out so may mow the lawn

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/10/2017 17:13

I think you need another guide runner too, it must be awful if you want to do these things & can't.

NSD.

ememem84 · 12/10/2017 17:22

NO idea how teachers do it either sunny. Dsis is a teacher. I always thought they didn’t actually do much...seeing what she does...my mind has been opened. Much respect.

ememem84 · 12/10/2017 17:35

Oh balls. £20 spends on ds’ birth certificate. Forgot that.

WreckTangled · 12/10/2017 17:36

I know some teachers, primary. One of them had a bit of a breakdown. My step brother is head of SEN at his primary school (don't think it's SENco as he's also a teacher there) he was deputy head at another school. I definitely couldn't do it.

My manger was asking me what I wanted to do yesterday, if I wanted to do an access course to nursing. I don't think I would I don't want to be anything too clinical, I like talking to people rather than touching them Grin but she said the way they offer training is changing and in a few years she's expecting there to be more apprenticeship type things.

MeadowHay · 12/10/2017 18:09

I don't think I could be a teacher, it's too hard and the pay absolutely doesn't match the work/hours/responsibility/grief! I respect teachers sooo much. I have a sort-of-friend who is a high school science teacher and one of my best friend's DP is now also a high school science teacher.

LSD again today, £2 donation to a collection for a colleague who is leaving, and then 75p on a carton of juice in the canteen to go with my lunch.

The dentist warned me about the bleeding gums so I am going to resolve to ensure I inter-dental brush every night again!

So tired today but work wasn't particularly busy today or anything, just getting near the end of the work I suppose. yawns and rests eyes

WreckTangled · 12/10/2017 18:14

Ah meadow early signs of pregnancy are hunger and exhaustion ime

LonelyOversharer · 12/10/2017 18:44

Had to go back to asda and get sodding dog food. It's what I went for yesterday, when I spent £135 on just about everything else. Paid contactless so under £30.

I also put a deposit on a storage unit. Eek! Time to sort my shit hoard out.

Not too flooded northern more just run off. Our road was flooded, but it runs through the botton of the steep valley. Carlisle was holding it's breath again, but was ok, this time.

Cagliostro · 12/10/2017 19:03

YAY highway rat! Awesome!
Yup waitresses in the books that have been published post-gruffalo there is a hidden gruffalo somewhere, kind of like how disney etc do 'Easter eggs' of hidden references to other movies. It appeals to the nerd in me (so... all of me then. All nerd. 🤓) Easiest ones are stick man snail and the whale and highway rat IIRC. There was a whole thread about room on the broom once debating whether there was one (I never found it).

Rest up meadow have to say first trimester tiredness is insane. This time round I was genuinely more sleepy than I have ever been in my life. And that's with a diagnosis of chronic fatigue! It's exhausting growing a person! :)

ChristmasSeacow · 12/10/2017 19:10

Yes I heard about the Highway Rat too. Should be good, DS has watched the others to death. What a time to be alive! I wish they would do Sharing a Shell too Cag, it is fab.

Waitress there's a hidden Gruffalo in the Highway Rat book and also in Stickman and Tiddler, off the top of my head. But there's lots more that I can't specifically remember. I can give you more clues if you want them Wink

Ikea for lunch, really delicious Brie and butternut squash tart with salad, I was very surprised at how good it was. £4.25, and no other spends (Ikea Shock!)

DD had her booster jabs and then I bought sausages for £2.50. She's been a nightmare since about 3pm - basically solidly crying, and getting more hysterical as she got more overtired. And that's with calpol! She finally crashed out 10 mins ago and I'm heading straight for the Wine.

My favourite spicy sausagey pasta for dinner. Shame I haven't started making it yet.
