Life No pumpkin profit but I like your thinking. Get a big one & engage in pumpkin one upmanship with the neighbours.

I'll just buy one, cut it up & make it into soup,

Waitrose do a culinary pumpkin for £2. But they would, wouldn't they?.

Cagliostro · 16/10/2017 18:13

Holy fucking hell I'm having a baby NEXT WEEK

LonelyOversharer · 16/10/2017 18:15

All pumpkins are culinary! Silly waitrose. Do you think yummy mummies throw yukky carving ones away as they aren't edible?

We carve, scraps and seeds go in the chickens, light on 31st, have a movie night, blow out tealights. Next day I process for puree, I just cut off the singed bit!

Heard on the news a man died in a chainsaw incident trying to chop up a fallen tree. How awful. And some twit swimming in the stormy sea.

Bf might be magic, but by crikey I was always thirsty. Have you some sports tablet things em ? One in half a litre of water will put in all your trace stuff that you lose.

Dd3 is all packed for her residential. The school is getting smaller so she gets to go in y5 and y6. I still see her as a little girl, in reality she'll be 10 soon. I have warned her teachers, she has no danger limitter fitted. I think I'd better make them some cake they'll need gin

CAG !!! I take it she'll be better out than in. Try not to panic! At least they've given you a week to get your head round it. Have they told you what size she is just now? I'm guessing 6lb. She'll be a shock after ds!

Laska5772 · 16/10/2017 18:27

Yay Cag !! How early will she be?

Cagliostro · 16/10/2017 18:28

5lb 9 estimate! 5th centile when she was not much under 50th before.

I have an excuse to buy some 'small baby' size clothes now 😍😍😍

ChristmasSeacow · 16/10/2017 18:31

Good grief, that's exciting Cag!

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/10/2017 18:32

Babies used to be that sort of weight routinely years ago!. You've only been pg five minutes.

WreckTangled · 16/10/2017 18:34

Oh wow cag!! Make sure you pm me your address so I can send you that snow suit. It’s the cutest one ever

Cagliostro · 16/10/2017 18:36

Basically they think the placenta isn't great for various reasons, so they want me to have steroid injections to make sure her lungs are ok, then be induced. I reckon she will be 37-37.5 weeks by the time she arrives. So technically 'term' even though she is earlier than my other two! (40 exactly and 41+4)

Laska5772 · 16/10/2017 18:36

I've just had a really lovely dinner of just veg. - Its always just me here all week so I can have whatever odd thing I fancy - and I have had a yen all day for a dinner of a plate of just hot veg (I know, I am weird) .

So it was roasted broccoli , a jacket potato and some roasted carrots.. The carrots were roasted in some of the curried duck fat which I had spooned off the curry I made yesterday. All sprinkled with salt and with a little the sizzling carrot /curry duck fat poured on the fluffy jacket spud ... OMG it was so tasty .. Frugal too!.

There's more left but I'm happy eating the same sort of thing three days in a row if its good (and not having anyone else to please helps) . So I am going to blitz the rest of the duck curry in with the carrots to make a sort of soup fro the next couple of days lunches..

Cagliostro · 16/10/2017 18:37

Ohhh I totally forgot about that wreck thank you! I have been rubbish at such things lately I will pm now! Thanks

LonelyOversharer · 16/10/2017 18:52

Would you be wanting some tiny cardi's cag please say yes only I found my favourite preemie pattern books the other day. One size under newborn should be just right.

Dd1 was 6lb 5 after my placenta gave in. Picked up at 38wk check, induced at 39. Failed. 12 pessaries anyone? She was super healthy, just small and very very cross! The consultant told me when I had dd2 that they were expecting dd1 to be under 4lb and very poorly.

Cagliostro · 16/10/2017 19:14

It's bizarre really as even scan measurements can be so inaccurate can't they?! But it is for the best I think, she is still full term by then technically. And it does mean I get to meet my little Cagletini even sooner 😍 DD is absolutely beside herself and keeps shrieking while I'm sitting here fretting and wibbling 😳😂

If you absolutely insist on a little cardi lonely then I suppose I could be persuaded! 😉 Thank you very much 😊 💐💐💐

WreckTangled · 16/10/2017 19:16

I remember those steroid injections in the bum BlushBlush they have to be given over the course of a couple of days iirc. The steroids can also make your blood sugar levels spike.

Dh came to watch ds swim. It was nice to have him there because when ds needed a wee I didn’t have to take him Grin

WreckTangled · 16/10/2017 19:16

I was told dd was 7lb. Born the next day 8lb at 35 weeks.

Cagliostro · 16/10/2017 19:20

In the bum?! Oh well that'll be fun Hmm 😂😂😂

SnugglySnerd · 16/10/2017 19:28

Exciting Cag!

I had the steroid injections in my thigh. Brace yourself, they hurt but only for a few seconds. Asda do size 0 nappies I think.

NSD here. Had another lovely blustery walk and got lots of washing dry. Made sweet potato and spinach curry for tea. Otherwise haven't achieved a great deal. I'm on the lookout for more frugal veggie recipes. Found loads on Pinterest.

Eeek! How exciting cag!!!

Injection in the bum? Well, there’s nothing quite like the indignity of the giving birth process. All sense of modesty goes out the window Grin

Loveabaconsandwich · 16/10/2017 19:32

My 6lb babies used size 1 nappies. Big but not too big for very long

WreckTangled · 16/10/2017 19:33

Yes it might have been thigh actually. Snuggly is right they aren’t the most pleasant but it’s over and done with fairly quickly.

The wind is picking up here. Hope no one has sustained any damage.

mammymammyIRL · 16/10/2017 19:36

My dd was born at 37+6 & week previously I was told she was 5lbs, she was 6lbs 9.5oz!! Wreck yours was way out Hmm

ememem84 · 16/10/2017 19:44

lonely thanks for that suggestion. I found some rehydration things. And have drunk about 2l of water. Feel much better.

cag exciting! Hope everything is ok. I guess a smaller (but equally as healthy) baby is better than your monster ds! Haha

ememem84 · 16/10/2017 19:47

snuggly we bought soya mince from Tesco and made about 8 portions of bolognaise from it. Dh reckons for the bag it was about £2 plus the cost of the veggies stock etc.

It’s bathtime for ds tonight.
