Em have you had soya mince before? I have once or twice but will never again!! megaparp!! (might also have some interesting 'effects' through BF on DS )

ememem84 · 16/10/2017 20:19

laksa yes. It’s ibteresting you say that. Quorn mince does that to me. The soya mince doesn’t.

Ds enjoyed his bath. Yippee. Mummy is the best at baths!!

Laska5772 · 16/10/2017 20:27

Quorn also does for me Em . You'll soon know if either affect DS Grin

ememem84 · 16/10/2017 20:34

laksa I don’t think we’ll be able to tell he’s a bit farty at the moment. Haha 👶🏻💨

As is dh is seems

Pinkpeppermintteaforme · 16/10/2017 20:36

Quorn is well known for causing GI problems 😷

I do a "garden" pie instead

MeadowHay · 16/10/2017 20:41

Em Laska I'm not a big fan of mince of any kind but my favourite is soy mince. I guess that's probably the least like actual mince meat though. I also like it as it's very cheap and you can buy it in those packets that you just keep for ever in the cupboard and don't go off, great value. Yum. Need to put it on the shopping list.

Went to go GP and luckily it was the same GP I saw last time so at least a bit of continuity now I'm in a new GP surgery. He was lovely about it but didn't say that much other than give me a phone number to ring for the midwife access centre or something and told me to call them tomorrow morning and make an appt and they will deal with all of it really rather than the GP. I forgot to ask about flu vaccine but I guess when I get an appt with the midwife service they will sort all that for me? My sickness seems to be getting worse, vomited twice today and feeling soo nauseous most of the time Envy

ememem84 · 16/10/2017 20:48

Thanks meadow today has been so chill so I’ve enjoyed feeding him again. I think his growth spurt is over for now we’re still taking bottles out with us in case. But bf when Home. Except for the last evening feed which dh does. More flexibility = happy mum = happy ds = happy dh = happy family.

Here’s something else. I’ve drunk more water in the last few hours to rehydrate. Seems as though bf is easier when I’m hydrated.

Laska5772 · 16/10/2017 20:54

meadow you are a veggie aren't you? I was when DS conceived but he wasn't having it! ,I ended up eating meat gain after 6 months when the longing for a ham sandwich became unbearable!

Anyway , even when I was a veggie I preferred things like green lentils and aduki beans rather than soy Sarah Brown's Red Dragon pie was a favourite] - I must make it again.. ( I don't think Quorn was on the market was around that long ago!!) although I do remember we had it when DS was about 5 I think. He used to like it.

I started drinking mint tea when in early stages to help nausea if you like it

Loveabaconsandwich · 16/10/2017 20:57

meadow have you looked into maternity leave entitlement in your current job? They should have a policy so you may not need to ask if they don’t know yet

I may have told DP earlier that if BIL gets engaged/ married for the third time (the one who announced baby yesterday) before we do, then I won’t be impressed. Not entirely sure he was listening though Hmm DD1 keeps telling DP that he is only allowed to marry me (I haven’t been telling her this!) so figure now might be time. Last time we discussed it was just before DD2 was born and it just wasn’t on the to do list

Laska5772 · 16/10/2017 21:05

Yeah Love YANBU ...We NEED a wedding on this thread!

Loveabaconsandwich · 16/10/2017 21:10

Ha, I may be being unrealistic though!

When BIL got engaged (for the second time), DP said we couldn’t be engaged at the same time as him Hmm . So we upset ExSIL and got pregnant before them. DP is generally not that strange, but weird about this!

Loveabaconsandwich · 16/10/2017 21:10

Actually he is a bit weird but he’s my weirdo Grin

Cagliostro · 16/10/2017 21:12

I definitely wouldn't mention the pregnancy in the interview meadow :)

Home and watching Liar and making a list of what still needs buying for Cagletini :o

ememem84 · 16/10/2017 21:30

love yes! We need a wedding. Work on that would you...!!!

Dh is now dealing with ds. Who hasn’t settled. I’ve just offered to take him. As dh uttered the words “not sure what’s going on here mate - we’ve been stitched up - have to do things one handed” I am in bed but did yell that I heard it and what the hell did he think I did all day and how did I cope one handed....

Me and catface have rolled our eyes at him.

MeadowHay · 16/10/2017 21:41

Awww catface looks very regal laying there!

Cag Don't worry, deffo won't mention pregnancy just on the off chance they like me.

Laska Yep, I am veggie. I've heard a lot of stories about people craving meat/fish when pregnant, without trying to sound like I'm on my high horse I doubt that will happen to me as I've not eaten meat for about 5 years and don't really like the idea of eating it but we'll see. I used to bloody love filet-o-fish burgers when I was living in France though as we were pescetarian then for about 10 months and it was more difficult to be vegetarian there. So we will see but I hope I can stick with it all fine.

Love Eeek, wedding bells! Grin I know our mat policy but I don't think it makes any difference as I won't be entitled to anything anyway as the company mat pay only kicks in if you've been employed for at least 2 years and I won't even get SMP as you need to be with your employer for 1 year. So all I will get is Maternity Allowance for awhile and the 12 months leave I guess. Dunno what I will do leave-wise but will wait a few months until I figure that stuff out I guess. Our department is going through a merger and I will be working for a different company in a few months time but as I don't even get SMP anyway I guess it won't make any difference.

Laska Yeah I drink peppermint tea and all kinds depending on what I feel like will help my nausea most at that moment, I get different types of tea cravings Grin. And lots of ginger biscuits at the moment!

SunnyLikeThursday · 16/10/2017 22:07

Cag Very exciting! Are you running a book on Cagletini's newborn weight? I'd like to bet on 12lbs. Good luck there. very exciting indeed. Brew

Ds enjoyed his choc ice. I also let him watch cbeebies in bed all evening and he says he's just going to stick with this plan all the time now. Not sure if it helped the cold yet.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/10/2017 22:12

Evening folks

Wowzers Cag a baby next week?! You and Em only seemed to be pregnant for 5 mins Grin probably feels/ felt like a bit longer to you both though Wink

I am tired, had another busy day today, met a friend for breakfast in Morrisons this morning £5, did a shop £50 which included cat food and then had some friends come over for dinner tonight. I made a lasagne with soya mince which turned out really nice and have enough left for a couple more dinners.

Taytocrisps · 16/10/2017 22:38

I'm alive and well. We've had power outages all through the day though. I didn't think the storm was that severe here although three people died throughout the country, all as a result of falling trees. I hope it's a bit kinder to you all in the UK. The wind is still quite strong but I guess it will move on in the next few hours. The schools are all closed again tomorrow so DD is ecstatic. And no Scouts tomorrow night so I've saved another €3 Smile.

Cag your baby is coming next week Shock! Wow! Very exciting news.

Meadow sorry you're suffering so much with morning sickness Sad.

ememem84 · 17/10/2017 02:23

Just like to point out I think we also need another baby on here. This year I think we’ve always had at least two of us pregnant at any one time...

SunnyLikeThursday · 17/10/2017 06:22

I would like to oblige Em but I think I have shot my bolt. Ds1 is all the baby I can handle.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/10/2017 06:33

Next week cag. Gosh how lovely.
Don't panic, just do what you can do before. The rest will happen when it can.

YY to keeping hydrated em.

WreckTangled · 17/10/2017 07:29
