I did a naughty thing 😳😳

I exchanged my swimming costume in sportsdirect. I didn't buy it from there. I bought it on Amazon marketplace but it still had all the SD labels on it. So I figured I'd just see if it scanned in then it must be ok... right? I didn't expect it to work! But it did so I got a hoodie for DD and paid £3 over for a pair of boxers for DS to make up the price.

Am I going to Frugaleer Hell? 😳😳

ememem84 · 15/10/2017 16:08

Woah cag I’m not sure whether to be appalled or impressed. Haha!

Ds has finally settled. He’s had a feed. Has done some pretty explosive farts and I’ve changed him twice. We’re wbiut to head out to my parents for dinner. Why. Why does he always settle right when we have to go out. Fml. Is there a setting or an upgrade for him I’m missing?! Haha!

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/10/2017 16:17

Nope that's what they do em. Then chew on while you are trying to eat, then behave for everyone else

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/10/2017 16:38

I wouldn't worry Cag, the SD bosses have done more morally dubious things between waking & their first latte than you'll ever manage.

NSD.

Found a wilko home brew discount code. It doesn't work Grin and I've found a cheaper facial cleansing oil. I can afford my usual but if I can find cheaper I will try it.

Need Try Tesco opticians, I've got a high prescription & my fortnightly ones are £10 a month. Bottle of all in one fluid from homebargains for £2. Jobs a goodun.

SnugglySnerd · 15/10/2017 16:46

I wouldn't feel at all bad about pulling a fast one in Sports Direct!

Lovely day out today but spent on coffees again. Must replace our rubbish flask.

Cagliostro · 15/10/2017 16:56

😂😂 I rationalised it figured I basically returned it on behalf of the Amazon seller who must have bought it from SD in the first place 😝😝

Cagliostro · 15/10/2017 17:09

Oh FFS I forgot the main thing I went into Wilkos for. £15 on 3 storage tubs (also needed TBF)... forgot the kids' trouser hangers 😡

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/10/2017 17:09

Sainsburys do some cheap proper Thermos flasks Snugg, I've tried un-branded ones and they just don't work as well.

I bought a 1.8ltr monster one for Dh for £10. It's saved us a fortune on holiday.

SnugglySnerd · 15/10/2017 17:17

Yes mine is unbranded and it works for about an hour plus only really holds enough for one person. Will look in Sainsbury's or maybe ask for one for Xmas.

Hi all, we are back from Brum! Felt like right country bumpkins when we got off at New St station and walked straight into a massive demo Shock I forget how massive Birmingham is!!

Had a lovely time, decided to train it in the end as had a massive migraine on Friday night that made me sick Sad still felt spaced out Sat morning and couldn't face driving. Got a family and friends rail card £30 which bought the cost of the train tickets down to £60 for dd and I, which I didn't think was too bad. The railcard is good for a year and we will def make use of it.

Knackered now though, was good and didn't buy fish n chips for tea and instead have used fish n chips from the freezer!

Other spends
£20 Friday night for friends leaving do/ meal out.
£10 ish drinks/ snacks on the journey.

Will have a quick read back through, hope you are all o.kay.

mammymammyIRL · 15/10/2017 17:29

Cag personally that makes you a ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ frugaleer in my opinion - burning question though did you exchange it for more or less than you paid for it? Hmm

mammymammyIRL · 15/10/2017 17:31

I've just been to work again, we're closing due to red weather warning tomorrow so I'd to go in to inform customers. Bloody clock in machine doesn't work on Sundays!
Plus I'd to bring a work phone home for tomo - wonder if I'll get paid extra for that Hmm

Cagliostro · 15/10/2017 17:33

I got the same as what I paid (£12, RRP was £27) I wouldn't be THAT cheeky as to exchange it for more 😱😱😱 when I ordered it I also paid delivery so I think it had been £16 total.

WreckTangled · 15/10/2017 17:46

Grated my thumb whilst grating cheese

Roast chicken for dinner with cauli cheese among other things.

Mil came round this morning and brought two tubs of ice cream and a lemon drizzle with her!

Cagliostro · 15/10/2017 18:10

Wreck if I said I felt unwell while getting flu jab would they check temperature before they gave it? I don't have a thermometer (yet another thing to buy before Cagletini arrives!) and have been feeling pretty unwell 🤒 but I remember you saying it's fine unless you are feverish? My sense of temperature is completely wonky though so I have no idea. I hope I can still have it as I can't really leave it any longer.

Sorry about the grating

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/10/2017 18:23

Ouch wreck.
Thing is cag, they could have said no. Shy bairns get nowt. It's not as if they have never had the cash or that you didn't respend it.

30 years since the huge weather thing that was underestimated. I was stuck in France on a year 8 school trip. We were the first ferry back out from Calais. I remember it well, loads of people being very sick. I loved it as totally got my sea legs. Can't go 10 Min in a car now

WreckTangled · 15/10/2017 18:43

I’m sure they would if you asked. If you’re seeing an HCA they might a bit wary of doing it all if you say you’re feeling unwell.

Cagliostro · 15/10/2017 18:48

Thanks :) annoyingly it's in the morning rather than after I see the consultant (busy day tomorrow - flu jab 11.25, final (Shock) growth scan 3.30, consultant 3.50!) i don't think it's a virus TBH more a POTS thing now it is getting harder to sustain a baby in there as well as myself IYSWIM. Just want to see little Cagletini on the screen and then they can see if she can stay in full term or not. :)

Queenofthedrivensnow · 15/10/2017 18:53

If it's a chain store you don't need to feel guilty.

HollyTheHarrier · 15/10/2017 18:55

Thanks all for the good wishes! I did it! 3h57. I’m very pleased, it was rather undulating and very windy in parts, but such an amazing atmosphere. So exhausted now. I really wanted chips but don’t want to leave the house and minimum delivery order is £13. So I had pasta instead. Saved me a little money at least 😊

Cagliostro · 15/10/2017 18:55

That's amazing holly well done!

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/10/2017 19:05

Well done Holly. Will you do another?.

WreckTangled · 15/10/2017 19:05

Well done holly that’s a great time

Laska5772 · 15/10/2017 19:14

Well done holly I have had a v quiet day.. ashamed to say that I had far too much Wine on both Friday and Saturday nights and paid for it today . Not even sure why.. it was only us here.. I think I just went for it!..

I think I'm going on waggon for a while.. its only 6 weeks until Florence .. Id like to try and lose a stone before then, so I can get back into a nice dress or two to take..

Have just had some of the duck curry .. have to say it was fab..!

Loveabaconsandwich · 15/10/2017 19:21

Well done holly

Grin at cag for returning the thing to SD

We had a quiet day and then popped round to see BIL and SIL at their new house. Not just the house that is new, announced baby is on the way too Smile Why do I have baby envy? Ahhhh!

Meant to be putting DD2 to bed. She is currently lying on a the floor under a blanket in the lounge refusing to move. She helps stop any baby fever right now Grin

NSD though.
