Is it awful that I gave the dc tuc crackers and oreos for lunch? Mn hell awaits!

But, a super slow cooked chuck with all the trimmings for tea. Very lovely. I tried cheesy leeks, you mentioned them last week wreck I think, sooo yummy. 4 out of 5 of us having it loved it. Thats a hit for us. Why have I never mixed leeks and cheese sauce before? I made a tray of brownies for pudding, also a hit, still gooey in the middle.

Nsd. Wow. But I'm planning churning the dc's beds again. Mid sleeper for dd1, bunk bed back to dd2, and the two high sleepers (one bought, one made from "top" bunk) gone. Will need about £250, and then some as the girls' mattresses are bloody awful. They have toppers and a duvet under the bottom sheet, and you can still feel the springs through.

LonelyOversharer · 15/10/2017 19:29

Well done holly are your feet in bits? What an achievement.

WreckTangled · 15/10/2017 19:40

I love most veg covered in cheese sauce Grin

I’ve caused a few negative comments by posting an article on fb saying how it’s not lucky to have a husband who pulls his weight we’re just equal.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 15/10/2017 19:47

Question. When do you declare income change for tax credits?

Cagliostro · 15/10/2017 19:47

Cheese sauce makes everything better!

mammymammyIRL · 15/10/2017 19:52

@LonelyOversharer they say a watched pot never boils so after checking temp of apple jelly several times I walked away from it - 260 deg!! My sugar thermometer is currently being licked like a lollipop & I've two lovely little jars of apple jelly Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/10/2017 20:13

Well done Holly.

Cagliostro · 15/10/2017 20:21

mammy 😂😈

Queenofthedrivensnow · 15/10/2017 20:26

My pension was about 3k gross a year that took my tax credits up by about 100 quid a month in gob smacked

Queenofthedrivensnow · 15/10/2017 20:27

I should be getting 60 a month more now but not sure it's more quibbling as I have to declare income increase in December

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/10/2017 20:32

Can it be backdated?

Cagliostro · 15/10/2017 20:36

I'm picking up my new glucose monitor tomorrow. Can't remember if I mentioned but the surgery decided that it was more economical to give me a whole new machine because it takes different cheaper test strips (I had asked if they could increase my prescription of strips because they only gave me 12 days' worth at a time - which due to speed of processing repeats meant I had to hand the next one in as soon as I collected one). Ho hum.

Super spendy day continued with £19 dinner and £12 hangers on eBay. Snuggled up with the Caglets watching one of their favourites - Vicar of Dibley! I have such cool kids :o

Queenofthedrivensnow · 15/10/2017 20:42

Fluffy I really don't know! I'm site I pay a lot more for my pension that I did in previous role even though it's same pension grrr

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/10/2017 20:51

Do pension contributions effect TC?! This is news to me! I pay into the NHS pension scheme but I seem to pay a lot.

Holly awesome achievement well done Star

Queenofthedrivensnow · 15/10/2017 20:54

Yes they bring your gross income down

SnugglySnerd · 15/10/2017 21:06

Well done Holly.

I agree with you Wreck. It drives me mad when my mum goes on about how lucky I am that dh does his share of getting up with the DTs, house work etc. Er...they are his kids/mess too!

Looking at jeans online. I really want some nice jeans but they are all either sprayed on and cropped or "mom fit" whatever that means. Who wants to wear cropped jeans in winter??
Any recommendations? I'm tall with skinny legs, no hips and a flabby stomach. Finding some to fit waist that are not baggy on legs is the problem. 12 usually too big but 10s won't fasten.

Did anybody else see the article on the BBC News about how well have to start growing our own food if the UK leaves Europe with no deal? I'm not any great shakes at digging up a whole year's supply of potatoes.

Cagliostro · 15/10/2017 21:19

Oh well at least we will have a garden by then I suppose 😬

Forgot £4 Poundland on Pepsi max, crisps for the Caglets and those little tins of baked beans with tiny sausages for me :o :o

LonelyOversharer · 15/10/2017 21:23

snuggly best find recently are gap ones "forever skinny" mid rise and not skin tight, their girlfrind fit ones are more roomy still. I usually wear gap legging, proper jeans but very skinny. Their sizing is generous, so a uk10 (remember they size us) will be roomier than other shops 10. We have an outlet so often get 40% off.

Yay to apple jelly mammy !

Am ordering yarn again ds needs a new hat, he's picked a fish one, and wants it nemo. Will dig out photo...

Hurricane Ophelia has saved me €5 because DD's school is closed tomorrow so she won't have Futsal.

NSD today and looks like tomorrow will be a NSD too because I've no plans to venture outside.

Taytocrisps · 15/10/2017 21:34

Very cool hat Lonely
