Bahaha at Ems mil Grin

cag it makes sense to me! I always feel like that too about stuff we take to the charity shop / recycling centre. I would stop procrastinating about potential money earnt and get rid of them ASAP before you change your mind (I do this ALL the time and end up clinging on to stuff to sell for 50p, then forgetting to sell it) but honestly if you think you can make a reasonable bit of cash then go for it. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/09/2017 12:48

The natural shortened version of momon is mom. Is she hoping he'll shorten it to mom in some kind of point scoring exercise?.

I just had grandma mothers maiden name & grandma fathers surname.

We're not fancy though Grin

The sainsburys 25% off event is on, there's a very reasonable vintage cava already reduced to £6 included.

WreckTangled · 27/09/2017 13:11

I haven't reregistered mine. Cba. Apparently you can get a fine of about £2. It's ridiculous I'm not doing it out of principle.

LonelyOversharer · 27/09/2017 14:08

Oh dear, all my dc are illegitimate! And none of them have my surname. Dd3 only has me on her bc, as we split up when I was 12wks pg, at the time I was so sad for her, but now I'm pleased I didn't push it (he had every chance to attend, I got all the reregistering forms too), as she's all mine

Asda done. With all the pet food £101. Meal planned food plus everything for lunches etc for 10 days. Then £11 in Morrisons on the meat Asda didn't have (well they did but it wasn't British), plus a chocolate orange, that will be eaten tonight, non stashed for Christmas. £9.50 on ferret food. I need to pull my finger out and order some online, I can get 10kg for £26, yet keep buying 2kg for £9.50. Makes no sense.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/09/2017 14:58

Amazon are doing 25% off your first subscribe & save order so you could buy it really cheaply Lonely. I've nearly got through my icing sugar thanks to you. I've moved house with it twice Blush

Cag Could you do a book bundle on Facebook? Buyer collect only. We make people come to us on eBay.

Need Would his course be free in Scotland? Are they still 4 year degrees up there?.

Espresso made & bottled for morning lattes ✔️
Soup made for lunches ✔️
Bread made✔️
Drinking chocolate made✔️
Car insurance search put off for another day✔️

ememem84 · 27/09/2017 15:23

No idea what she's thinking! But if it means I can legit call her a bad name I'm all for it! It'll be ds' first swear! Hahahaha

We've been out. To the post office and the pet shop. First family outing. Not fancy. But we did it. Ds is meeting fil this afternoon.

Busy day!

In other news my boobs have essentially doubled in size. Hooray for boobs!!

Spends today £12.87 at post office sending off eBay things. £18 on a top from eBay. £51 in petshop on felliway refills.

ememem84 · 27/09/2017 15:24

cag second the idea of s book bundle.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/09/2017 15:41

You're coping really well Em.

Hotel chocolat do a chocolate tasting club subscription, the first box is £10. Topcashback are doing £4.50 cashback for the next four days.

So £22.95 worth of chocolate for £5.50. I've emailed them & they said the box should fit through a standard letter box easily.

The important bit is to set a reminder on your phone to cancel the ongoing subscription.

I'm going to get one for part of dhs Christmas presents.

Cagliostro · 27/09/2017 15:54

Well I saved a tenner today by not going to a new art club in town (as I wanted to get the decluttering done). And now I'm fucking glad I didn't. One of the activities they did was painting the shell of a pet tortoise. Lots of young kids with paintbrushes so could have really injured its face etc. What the fuck?! On what planet is that ok? It's an animal not a canvas. Lots of people annoyed about it but no response from the leader yet. :(

100yearsdotcom · 27/09/2017 16:14

Finally caught up with you all!

Em you sound like you're dking brilliantly!

Cag Shock that's awful!

Literally cannot remember anything else I was going to say. Having a very stressful and busy time when all I want to do is snuggle DD. Does anyone know if I get a 10 issues for a pound radio times subscription that starts with the 10 October issue, will that cover Christmas? I keep trying to work it out but my brain is mashed...

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/09/2017 16:45

Hello all, I never knew that about reregistering a child after you get married, I think I would be with Wreck I detest the word 'illegitimate' anyway, it should be banned!! My daughter is no more or less legitimate than any other child Wink

You are doing so well Em newborns sleep loads so def make the most of it!!

I don't think you are being controlling either Christmas and can totally understand your dilemma. For me working was a necessity, it was that or try and survive on benefits but I def think working p/t you can get a balance between career and being there for your children.

Busy day at work and am flagging now. NSD Halo

LonelyOversharer · 27/09/2017 17:02

Yy girlie hence my "oh dear" comment. So stupidly outdated. Wether I married the father(s!) of my dc or not is no ones business but mine. We get 6 weeks to register a birth iirc.

Ah em milks in then!

Went to 'meet the teacher' tonight, both littleys settled into thier new classes well. Freezer tea tonight, just going to give the dc a choice of chicken or fish.

I'm going to go anto Amazon later fluffy and do the subscribe and save for the wretched ferret food. I must have wasted £££ already on it. Having used lots of american recipies from pintrest, it seems they use 'powdered sugar' in all baking. I don't think they do caster sugar over there? I used it in the custard powder biccys, it worked really well.

CollieBobs · 27/09/2017 17:06

fluffy ooo hotel chocolat. Once they accidentally sent me £50 worth of chocolate instead of £7 worth. They told me to keep it & enjoy myself Grin

Cag omg that poor little tortoise. That's awful :(

My mattress didn't arrive. The courier screwed up but I'll get it tomorrow & they gave me a £50 refund. The courier was so sorry. Apparently the driver went AWOL & has been ignoring calls! He's obviously having a bad day Confused

Anyhoo. I tried to cook chocolate cake but it's disgusting. had to bin it :( frugal fail. The ingredients aren't exactly cheap but DH said we can go & get some brownies later.

I need to prep for my interview tomorrow Grin will blatantly mess up

SnugglySnerd · 27/09/2017 17:28

NSD hooray!

Have been doing an audit of the cupboards and freezer and I reckon we can keep going for a week or so if I just buy a few basics like eggs. Not only will it save ££ but I'd like to run everything down and start getting a few Xmas things to spread the cost so it'll create some space for that.

SnugglySnerd · 27/09/2017 17:29

Sorry Wreck. Meant you say I hope your ankle is ok.

Cagliostro · 27/09/2017 17:34

Yes couldn't agree more it's really outdated. What difference does it make if we were married or not really?! Just bizarre.

AAAAALL our children's non fiction now fits on one small bookcase. Yay! There is even space left over must not buy more to fill said space

Cagliostro · 27/09/2017 17:35

Cabbage leaves in the bra if boobs hurt em :o

WreckTangled · 27/09/2017 18:01

My ankles fine but I grazed my knee!

ememem84 · 27/09/2017 18:38

They don't hurt yet but they do feel super full.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/09/2017 18:40

100

My maths says the Christmas issue would be your last issue. Don't forget cashback, I think quidco & tcb are still doing £1 CB for that one.

£32 boots, two moisturisers & a sunblock. Should last me ages. The la Roche posay is on 3 for 2.

Cagliostro · 27/09/2017 18:42

That's good, hopefully if they don't now then they won't :) really glad it's going well. It's a lot easier than FF IME especially at night! And if you are in charge of feeding then obviously DH is in charge of The Other End. Winding was also, strangely, really nice bonding time for them.

MeadowHay · 27/09/2017 19:11

I cannot balance working FT with keeping up to date with frugaleers!! Haha.

Em CONGRATULATIONS sorry I am late! I did see the pic of your beautiful little boy though on the other thread

Loveabaconsandwich · 27/09/2017 19:18

Hope you have recovered ok wreck

I remember being excited about sleeping on my front once baby was born em. But then couldn’t as my boobs were enormous and rock hard. Hot showers help

So today’s spends Blush
£135 boiler service
£6 Burger King
£34 M&S but used £10 gift voucher
£150 in Debenhams. 2 sets of towels. 2 bras. Two dresses. Ooops.
£2 parking
£28 Tesco
£8.50 posting back a dvd and 12 stamps

One of the dresses was from Wallis, the other Phase eight. Is that the right age shop for me. I’m 34?! Never bought from either before and wondering if they are too old for me ConfusedBlush . Might change the Wallis dress to a normal size one as I got it in petite and showing a bit too much chubby leg.

Neither my DC are “legitimate”. Although never heard your phrase wrong side of the blanket before seacow, I like it! The only guilt I’ve had was from one of my mum group friends who told me how she got picked on at school as her parents weren’t married Sad

Loveabaconsandwich · 27/09/2017 19:21

meadow I think with tax, they assume you will earn the same amount to the end of the year. So if you calculate previous earnings plus salary each month now and are due to go over &11500 by end of March 18, you will start paying the appropriate amount of tax now

Laska5772 · 27/09/2017 19:53

When Ds was born (27years go) I was married but I hadnt taken exH's name.. we were in hospital for 5 days... forceps lost a lot of blood and and they kept you in in those days if it wasnt entirely straightforward .
on 2nd day I read our notes on end of the bed. They had Ds status as 'illegitimate' I suppose because mine and H names were different.. they didnt even ask .. I hit the roof and made them change it.. They were quite defensive about it as well. Hmm

This was 1990 , some time after womens lib and the so called sexual revolution..
