I gave up Radio 4 Fluff about three years ago.. Found I was listening to it in despair on the way to work (Today programme) and again on the way home (PM).. It just got way too depressing. I discovered Radio 6 when I got DAB and made sure the next car i bought had it too ) its R6 all the way now! Never listen to R4 anymore , ( I even gave up The Archers after 30+ years following and dont miss them one little bit)

Am so much happier for discovering Radio 6!

True though, there is a lot of good stuff on R$ , if you keep away from the news programmes!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 24/08/2017 22:34

Hi all, late sign in as super busy day

Wow Need thats amazing, you must be bursting with pride Star Star Star well done to your dd.

Yay I'm sure I said a girl Cag Grin wonderful news.

Think have managed a NSD, work was busy and have been to a friends for tea tonight. Day off tomos thank God!!

Laska5772 · 24/08/2017 22:39

It was a NSD but I have just spent £40 online on hair and beauty products.. (lots though).
.
Right bed now before, I do more.

ChristmasSeacow · 25/08/2017 00:04

Need to sleep so can't write much but:

Well done Need DD and defo fine to be proud

Great news on baby girl Cag - and you must be pleased to know for definite either way!

Fluffy I am with you on R4. It's on all day in this house. DH also not a fan, says it reminds him of his mother probably why he married me

Sorry about the job Life Sad

Welcome Lilly, kids clothes are the ruin of me too at the moment

DD is much happier, the drugs must be working. Still not sleeping more, nor willing to be put down but at least she's not in pain. DS is restoring disorder to the home though... I think it's a bit of jealousy. I can see his point TBH as DD is permanently glued to me. He must wonder what the heck is going on.

I have period pain, I guess normal service will shortly be restored on that front. Shame, I have loved not having one for almost a year! It's a big perk of pregnancy.

Must move self-care up the agenda... I noticed today in a stiff breeze that I could feel the wind ruffling my moustache. I've never felt more gorgeous Grin

Top up shop but no big shop this week as we are away over the weekend.

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/08/2017 06:11

LOL! Christmas I bet you are gorgeous though.

I ventured out yesterday to my vounteer job. It was strange to be back working in a lab after 16 years elsewhere. I did okay though. The technician who helped me know a ton of stuff, and was very nice.

Ds is very very minecraft at the moment. It's certainly good for getting him talking.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/08/2017 07:05

Oh the glamour Christmas. Pleased dd is feeling better though. Ds will get there, it's a phase.
Radio 4 god no it's just drone. Some radio 2 or heart. Will look into R6 in the kitchen.

Will be going to town today so could be spendy. Need to return some shorts to primark but can find the receipt.

ememem84 · 25/08/2017 07:07

Morning all.

Hoping for nsd today. Must look at catfaces insurance and get in touch with nursery lady so dh can go visit.

Slept awfully. That'll teach me for having a coffee before bed and then also not listening to my bladder. I woke up at 430 needing a wee but didn't go. So now I super need one and spent a few hours just trying to go back to sleep but not being able to because I needed a wee.

Aaah.

WreckTangled · 25/08/2017 07:26

Rubbish seacow I hate periods. Pleased dd isn't in so much pain now.

Em I'm with the post office for cat insurance and I pay £10 a month. I got lifetime cover though and he's older (9).

Today will be spendy as we're off to London to see horrible histories live. I can't wait! Train and tickets already paid for so just tube, snacks and lunch. Have budgeted £50.

needastrongone · 25/08/2017 07:33

I'm with the fluffster, at the risk of incurring the wrath of life Wink, I'm partial to a bit of radio 4, mainly I listen to radio 5 though.

Your comment actually made me fully laugh seacow!

Thanks all about DD, you are all so kind. As I've said, it's her work ethic I'm the most chuffed with, as I'm sure you will all get.

Less chuffed at picking her up from a party at 12.30am and then her puking 4 times in the nightGrinGrin. First time ever though, she's forgiven, we've all done it at some stage.

Working today so off to get ready.

Watched Jamie on catch up yesterday and his book came yesterday. I got 2 copies, one for DB's birthday. I'm the same as you em, I like him. We must be the only two folk that do!

When does DD start her medication cag, and brill news about your littlest DDWinkWinkSmileSmile

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 25/08/2017 07:41

Can I sneak back in? I started posting a while ago and then ended up lurking instead Blush
We're off to the zoo with friends today but I'm hoping for a NSD as I get free entry, parking is free and we're taking a picnic. It's supposed to be 21 degrees though so I might treat myself to an ice cream...

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/08/2017 07:50

It's a right of passage isn't it? Getting trollied and puking. Dh loves R4 everything is switched to it, I switch it over.
Hi Rosie

ChristmasSeacow · 25/08/2017 08:53

Ooh,the first time I ever puked from alcohol was the day my gcse results came out. I'd only had 2 glasses of wine, mind you.

DH days I've been absent-mindedly stroking my upper lip for the last couple of weeks. Like Poirot.

Welcome back Rosie

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/08/2017 08:58

I'm sure pet plan underwrite sainsburys pet insurance, Google will know.

Laska5772 · 25/08/2017 09:22

JO is always a standby for recipe ideas here! ( goes off to look for caesar salad dressing recipe...) .
It was vodka for my first teenage alcohol overindulgence .. and i never touched it again until about 3 years ago when I discovered Bloody Marys ... Smile ( oh and once making our own blackcurrant vodka ) having said that i still v rarely drink the stuff or any other spirits one weekend g&t only sometimes.. . big lesson learned!!

Cagliostro · 25/08/2017 09:26

I saw a JO courgette linguini thing with lemon and mint on FB. Was an ad for his book. Looked super yum!

I suppose DD will be DD1 now. That's so strange!

Got leftover sausages so going to try and do a tomato casserole thing. I'll keep the bits big so the Caglets can pick out the bits they will willingly eat and do it with rice so at least they will eat something...

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/08/2017 11:10

Love it bacon and so true

LonelyOversharer · 25/08/2017 11:58

Stupid bròken tablet ate my post.

Catching up, I'm radio 2 all the way. Grew up to mum doing the house work to Ken Bruce and lunch to Jimmy Young. I listen a lot less now (detest Chris Evans and Steve Wright).

Very well done to your dd need she's brilliant Star you are right to be proud!

Have always liked JO. Plus his recipies work.

cag yay! I guessed boy, but so happy all is well. I have the cutest girl cardi pattern I have been wanting to try, hope you don't mind.

Spent £110 in asda yesterday, about half was school uniform. School shoes tonight, going to Gretna for the clarks and sketchers outlet.

Loveabaconsandwich · 25/08/2017 12:17

£8.25 in M&s food on various reduced bits

Bumped into someone who I used to work with before the office relocated. He looked so chilled, although he retired 3 weeks ago which may have had something to do with it. I want to retire now at least 33 years to go

Cagliostro · 25/08/2017 12:56

Bacon 😂😂😂 love it

Aww yay knitting lonely! Star So clever I could never do it (I have tried!) Thanks

Anyone have experience buying from Amazon.com? A few items are crazy cheap on there compared to here.

OP posts:
ememem84 · 25/08/2017 13:22

I've just ordered a grow egg and a new Moses basket mattress from Amazon (via Amazon prime) cag

Have just eaten lunch (salad with grilled haloumi, butternut squash and chickpeas) yum. And now feel like I'm about to explode. So. Full. Baby boy is taking up far too much room and is kicking the shit out of tenderising my right ribs.

Looking forward to a long weekend. Only another 3.5 hours to go. Not that I'm counting....!!!

ememem84 · 25/08/2017 13:26

My drink till you puke moment happened after a levels. Eugh. Black sambuca. Eugh. Eugh. Eugh. Cannot touch sambuca now. Rotten vile nasty drink. Eugh. Even the smell is enough to make me want to vom.

Saying that I've had one too many wines or cocktails since then and have had to wait to be sick or have had to force it. This last happened on New Years this year some people never learn

I'm determined not to do that again though. I imagine babies don't understand that mummy is hungover so please be quiet.

Cagliostro · 25/08/2017 13:32

Well I got two board games + overseas shipping for the price of one of the games in the U.K. So yay! £37 for two that have been on my wishlist for aaaaages

Always been ok cag you just have to pace up and down waiting for stuff to arrive. Only thing is vat on entry from countries like the US. But you pay that on arrival, and it's 20%. I've found sometimes you pay the vat, sometimes you don't. It depends on the sellers customs form I think. I always tick 'gift' sending stuff abroad just in case. If it's stuff from a person, not a business it should be ok (ie no vat).

I still have a numb bit em where dd1 basically kicked a hole in me, just under my ribs, right hand side. She was v low fluid and you could see her sharp little heels through my skin.
