Saw some stuff about the fire today on the news. Absolutely horrific.

If anyone is thinking of making a donation to the Grenfell tower families, if you go via the Big Give they will match your donation to double it:

Wow laksa looks ace!!!

I had pink hair (sort of) once. Bleached the bottom two inches of my hair then dyed it hot pink. Looks awesome. And I felt so cool. I was 14. It was amazing.

I'm tempted when I'm on mat leave to do this

Currently pinteresting slow cooker recipes.
Dh is using the leftover jersey royals chorizo and wine to make Patatas bravas. To have with salmon tomorrow. Mmm.

We had warm potato salad for dinner with chorizo spinach green beans broccoli and peas. With lemon and mint dressing. Mmm.

Emptied the the £2 piggy..it had £204 in it!! .. We literally couldnt stuff another coin in.. so have banked £200 and £4 back in for the next round (£100 is mine for treats but its going back into savings as I have already spent it once !! ) Grin. DH gets the other half..

spends today were: £24 for a naice lunch for me and a birthday girl friend.. .
£5.99 on a set of crochet hooks and £6 on 8 random balls of wool to practice with.
£50 in Co op, quite a lot of that was on filter coffee . We always take some 3 packets! with us to holiday cottage... Greek coffee is bleugh!! and I do like my coffee in the morning .. ,Also bin liners, cat bics and 4 bottles Wine !

Then DS gave me £50 .. He is gradually paying back the deposit I lent him for his flat.£50 a month. I only had to remind him twice though

Laska5772 · 14/06/2017 19:54

sounds great Em I did once put pink and blue streaks at the front some years ago but not since , but aftre geting my hair cut really short yesterday I suddenly fancied the whole pink thing .. ill probably top it up again tomorrow..

Cagliostro · 14/06/2017 20:25

Fab hair laska! And your food sounds yum em

Just tried out our town's new community cafe. One of these schemes where they are given a load of food from supermarkets that would otherwise be thrown (short dated), they cook a big meal with some of it and you can just show up and also take groceries. Really lovely, it was a barbecue today with various salads, and cake after. All free. Shocking to see all that food though and realise it would have all been in the bin! Can't deny it was a challenge for me though as I have anxiety around food, germs etc so as well as being grateful for the free meal (and not having to cook when I'm knackered) I'm proud of myself too

MeadowHay · 14/06/2017 21:17

Cag That sounds really cool, there's a similar project in our city. I'm glad you enjoyed it and benefited from it and managed to overcome your anxiety Smile.

Laska I love your hair. One of my great aunties has hair that colour, it looks fab!

Em My sister's hair is similar to that pic, it's cool.

I would like to dye my hair but I can't do it myself (coordination problems) and also my hair is so dark so nothing shows up at home and I don't feel confident about bleaching it at home. And then hairdressers is too expensive for us really.

Had a good time feeding the homeless this evening with DH and one of our friends who came along too. Had a massive long chat with a fella who is from the same city as my mam. It is sad to see them but also nice to know you're doing a little help for them that day at least. Will be there again next week health permitting. But then we spent a tenner on burritos for dinner after so will have to make sure that doesn't become a regular thing too Blush.

SunnyLikeThursday · 14/06/2017 21:40

Creme that's a good idea. I'll do that. An old friend of mine from ds's baby years has just moved back to our town and has started at ds's school. The family were in our garden today and I joked to her that I am not good at resting and she said "I can see that!". I think I might ask her to be my over-activity detector. Smile

We had a good Beaver night tonight.

That fire was something else. I hardly know what to say, really.

ememem84 · 14/06/2017 21:49

meadow no way would I attempt it myself! I'm going to save and let my hair grow then see where we're at in November.

I'd much much rather someone else do it then if it all goes wrong I've got some fallback!

Finished orange is the new black. 😭 Now have to wait until next June... did not think this through.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 14/06/2017 21:51

Evening all, the fire is just horrific Sad just unimaginable, those poor people.

Think I have managed another NSD.

ChristmasSeacow · 14/06/2017 22:15

Hi Creme yes, tonight tomorrow morning at around 4am is the end of the project. However, as I am likely to get induced pretty soon there won't be much down time! I do regret being so busy and stressed but financially it has made quite a difference.

I have just looked at the forecast and it's set to be 27+ over the weekend and Monday! Sod's law says that's a great time to be in Labour, right?!

Love the hair Laska.

I have just taken the last full size almond magnum and left DH with the minis. And I'm not sorry Grin

LonelyOversharer · 14/06/2017 22:16

So cool laska you're so brave! I have bought a box of dye (very similar to my own shade) but I haven't even done the patch test yet. Such a wimp. But I've had a really bad rash on my neck (think it's stress based), and was waiting for it to clear up. Now it has we'll see what excuse I come up with!

Spent just £10 in sainsbo's, which is good for me.

notmrscookie · 14/06/2017 22:30

Cagliostro .Are u in west Sussex as I saw a similar thing advertised and will try to pop in . no spend day as working 8 to 8 today and tomorrow x

AdoraBell · 14/06/2017 22:35

Ah, I've already done my donation Seacow , £20

Love the pink/purple hair Grin

LonelyOversharer · 14/06/2017 23:19

Too right seacow re magnums. Surely dd needs a mini one? You'll have to help her with that.

Am excited for you, dd is very close now!!

Coppersulphate · 14/06/2017 23:35

Just lost a long post. Oh well.
Fire is horrendous. Cannot start to imagine the terror of it. Read it this morning on the BBC website and keeping thinking what would I do / feel if that was my family. Those poor people.

NSD
Girlie I now have cards numbered 70, 73, 98 and 107. Happy to post them, just let me know.
Thanks Need for sending the cards. DGD just needs 90 and we are complete

Cocklodger · 15/06/2017 02:55

Yesterday was a spendy one,
125$ in aldi, to get most of the months shopping in.
30 dollars on a tank of fuel, again for the month. Hoping for a NSD today. Have forgone my usual coffee club frappe, and instead bought cream, vanilla ice cream, strawberry syrup and strawberries so I can make my own at home, it cost me 7 dollars for all of the above (at aldi) but I'll make lots out of it, better than 6.50 for one Blush so that's good.
Need to go to woolies next week for dd's things (nappies, wipes etc) as not fussed on aldi nappies.
Its all good though Smile

ChristmasSeacow · 15/06/2017 03:39

FINISHED! Shattered but happy Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/06/2017 06:15

Top up shop $2 milk and forgot my bloody lunch again which has had to do go in the bin and cost me another $8

Will donate to the fire fund at the weekend.

Nice hair Laska. I like that shade, how bright are you wanting.
Pleased about the cards copper and that the thread was useful.
Yeah sea. Get some rest now.

Busy day at work today. Ned planned

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/06/2017 06:39

Sorry to whoever Ned is. I don't have him planned I have a nsd planned although just realised we are out of bread and yoghurt. Grr

ememem84 · 15/06/2017 06:55

needastrongone · 15/06/2017 07:23

A Ned day sounds more interesting that a NSD to be fairGrinGrin

GET SOME REST NOW Seacow!!!

Loving the hair laska.

Spends today will be a riding lesson for DD and £50 at Boots as they have an offer today to get £10 of points if you spend that. I need some specific stuff for DD's birthday next week and sun cream.

CremeEggThief · 15/06/2017 07:28

Yay, Seacow.Star

Send Ned to me when you're finished with him, LifeGrin.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/06/2017 07:39

lodger I bet yours tastes better than the coffee shop one. I can't stomach coffees out now, too much robusta. Sounds lush 🍓. What's it like over there for survey sites?

Sea Well done. That's a huge pressure lifted.
