Ooo warm and waterproof. I need a link as that is my holy grail for the footy line

LonelyOversharer · 15/04/2017 22:21

For me Sean Bean (we do all say it so Sean rhymes with Bean, right?) will always be Sharpe (trys not to show age, I watched them on sky bf dd1). I remember them being sooo good. Bet they're naff if I rewatch them now!

Good point re babies fluffy but mum guilt is the most amazingly unreasonable thing!

Cheap chicken and veg was lovely, meal for 6 costed out at £3.40 all in plus an oxo cube!

Christine our oldest hen is sitting on 3 eggs. It's probably her last year (she's 7) so we're going to let her raise one more brood. But I'll order some eggs from ebay (thinking cream leg bar's) and stick them to incubate, as they hatch we'll slip them in and she can raise the lot. I usually get 3-4/6 hatch from eggs through the post. I know I have 19 chickens (and two buckets of eggs), but I love them!

SunnyLikeThursday · 15/04/2017 22:39

Lonely can you really get fertile chicken eggs from ebay? I had no idea.

My db keeps bees and was telling me today all about his bee-keeping exploits. It all sounds like a lot of work (and stinging) but a lot of fun.

I wonder if you can get butterfly pupa from somewhere? That would be fun.

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 15/04/2017 22:45

You can totally get butterfly to hatch out.

ChristmasSeacow · 15/04/2017 23:16

You totally can Sunny. Stick Insect Lore Butterfly Garden into amazon.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/04/2017 23:30

We have done the insect lore thing twice and raised 10 butterflies (I think!) it's a fab thing to do with kids and once you have the kit you can just buy the tubs of caterpillars from Amazon!! Will do it again this year I think as will be nice to let them go in our garden.

I'm not sure what time that pic was taken Sunny but the sun starts on the side where the border is I think and moves across over the day, am really hoping all the plants we put in do o.kay and don't die!! Have put a mini wildlife area at one end for dd as well with a tiny pond and bug hotel.

Dd still coughing loads Sad not 100% sure she is asleep yet as the coughing keeps waking her up.

SunnyLikeThursday · 16/04/2017 06:26

The garden sounds fantastic Girlie. Smile Especially the wildlife area. That's great to the sun move from one side to the other like that. Gives lots of options.

The butterfly thing sounds great. We must do that. Smile

I'm carefully avoiding starting a new thread now as we approach the thousand post mark. Smile At what point do we crack and do it? 999?

OP posts:
needastrongone · 16/04/2017 07:30

I'm sure one of us will start a new thread when this one hits the 990's. Might be tomorrow possibly given it's Easter. I like lots of folk starting threads off, lots of variety in the titles and initial posts. Some one will sort it I am sure when needed.

needastrongone · 16/04/2017 07:31

Have a good Easter Day folks, lots of NSD's obviously today.

I've done an easter egg hunt for the DC and bought Thomas eggs, they are moaning like mad Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 16/04/2017 07:36

Easter egg hunt done here too. Feeling Catholic guilt at not going to church. I don't want to force the DC as i hated it as a kid.

National trust today indoors as it's forecast rain.

Happy Easter everyone

ememem84 · 16/04/2017 08:27

Morning all

Nsd planned here today. Family lunch with a slow roasted lamby lamb lamb shoulder. Mmmmmmm

Hot cross buns (30p off voucher used in Waitrose yesterday - I never use these...!) for breakfast. Mmmmmmmmm I know you're meant to have them on good Friday but we forgot to buy them

Broken night sleep. Catface is getting weirded out by the viewings. I think she can smell new people smell. She pounced me at midnight when dh came to bed. She spent most of the night either under bed or on the couch meowing. Dh got annoyed but refused to sleep in the spear room with the door shut. He would have got some peace then.

I sat up with her for a bit head scratching her. #goodcatmummy #spoiledcat

ememem84 · 16/04/2017 08:27

*spare room. We don't have a spear room.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/04/2017 08:33

Poor Catface, their such sensitive little souls.

mammymammyIRL · 16/04/2017 08:47

Bacon that was me I got the tefal ingenio saucepans. I love them. The frying pans heat up so much quicker & stay at a higher temperature than my stone Regis one.
I will take a pic they all fit in one small kitchen drawer.

I was absent yesterday from thread as I spent morning tidying my room not finished but there's a huge improvement. I'm sure lots of you will look at pic in horror but it was so much worse than this. In a few weeks when I've it all done I'm going to ask cleaner to stay on for an extra hour to give it a good cleaning.
Then spent afternoon on a lovely cliff walk with dc & au pairs family.

Fluffy your toenails looked perfect to me. I'm getting my nails done thurs chiodopro is the technique, a guy at work said his wife gets them done at this particular salon they're meant to last 2 weeks, hers are on a month now €25.
Also getting hair & makeup done Friday as attending an evening wedding reception. I've to work during day so can't attend full but this saves €200 wedding present

Seacow your nails are cool. Everyone here is really into their nails I think I'd better get mine done more regularly too Smile

Yesterday was a NSD & I found €5 in a receipt while tidying my room. I forgot to buy my newspaper too which is a pity as I love the magazine that comes with it.

Brilliant cag

Welcome to all the newbies & returnees

Girlie gorgeous garden
Fluffy good bargain on hotel
Meadow I'm like you I admire nice gardens but I really can't be bothered myself

Interested in compost in hens enclosure does it draw rats? This is why we had to get rid of last compost bin they were living inside it safe away from the cats Sad

On cat news one that adopted us is female & pregnant Angry once this litter is born, she'll be taking a trip to the vets.

Need that's a super deal with sky
Cag & em ye just brought back memories of the nightmare of pregnancy constipation

Was coming close to end of my catch-up & saw talk of thread nearly fun was afraid it wouldn't post.

We're going to a vintage display today with lots of activities for dc

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/04/2017 09:09

Over here kitty abortions are becoming more common. There's just too many owners not neutering so they spay & abort at the same time.

Tidy rooms always make you feel better.

Luckily toenails grow slower than finger nails so everything lasts ages. You'll love the results.

LonelyOversharer · 16/04/2017 09:11

Happy Easter everyone! Eggs being demolished here. Will do a small hunt at my mums later, as her garden isn't covered in dog eggs poo

Yes mammy hens draw rats. Dp shoots them - it keeps them at bay as they're clever. You bedroom is tidy! Honestly would put a pic of mine, but would have to leave in disgrace! Love your wallpaper.

sunny put hatching eggs into ebay search! You can get duck, quail, phesant etc. I long for quail. Love the idea of butterflies too.

Easter breakfast of chocolate and victoria sponge! Buns made to take to mums...was going to do a swanky easter iced cake, but someone has raided the mini eggs I had stashed!! So I toned it down a bit.

ememem84 · 16/04/2017 09:16

Catface is happy now. She's on bed with me. Purring away. Looking at hot cross buns.

mammymammyIRL · 16/04/2017 09:20

Saucepans in one drawer

northender · 16/04/2017 09:30

Morning all. mammy I wouldn't dare post a pic of our bedroom so really, yours looks fine to me!
seacow yes, ds particularly is loving this season. Dh is a little less excited as he keeps whingeing about the poor quality of the football, ds doesn't care! I've now bought a ticket for the game tomorrow, in our original Easter plan I would've been going to my teams home game, but as we're here I may as well join in the fun.
Arrived in Devon yesterday tea time after a lovely but spendy day out with our friends. We had lunch out which was quite pricey (£50 for the 4 of us) and quite underwhelming really. Then dd and I (both of us find it very difficult to buy shoes due to vv wide feet & high instep) discovered a Moshulu shop which was a revelation as we really liked the shoes and they fitted well. So, £150 later Blush we left kitted out with several pairs. Dd is going to pay me for hers & if we feel inclined we can share the shoes as we are both the same size now Shock
Dd has spent the night with sil & bil, ds will sleep until 12 at least so Dh & I may pop out for breakfast soon & a walk before lunch with family at the local pub. Fortunately I had allocated some money from our holiday pot for this weekend.
Have a lovely day everyone.

SunnyLikeThursday · 16/04/2017 09:45

Hatching eggs sound lovely Lonely. That would be so much fun to do, though I suppose we'd then have chickens. :-)

We're off to try a new church today. I hope it will be good.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/04/2017 10:06

Happy Easter Everyone Easter Smile

Dd eventually fell asleep at midnight, woke again at 4am and was up for the day at 6.45 Hmm like having a baby again!! She seems totally fine in herself now, its just one of those annoying coughs that doesn't like you lying down!!

thewaitresses · 16/04/2017 10:32

Happy Easter all! 🐣. Lovely sunny egg hunt with DD and cousins this morning now relaxing until babies wake up from napping. Not a great night's sleep last night - lots of 3am chattering and DD climbing in with us.

We have a whole day to ourselves tomorrow so going to try to plan something frugal - we have a few annual memberships and should take a picnic (recently we've just gone wherever and planned cafe or pub lunches along the way) - baby steps to return to frugal ways!

mammymammyIRL · 16/04/2017 10:33

It's fingernails I'm getting done fluffy my feet spend all their time in socks Smile

Lonely we've only had problems with rats & compost not hens our cat Tom keeps them at bay, it's the other cat called Danny that's pregnant we won't abort the kittens but will neuter her when they're reared.

That's a well taken photo there's still hours of sorting out paperwork to be done it's an improvement though, I too love the wallpaper.

mammymammyIRL · 16/04/2017 10:37

I have been taking magnesium before bed every night for about 10 days. Last night I'd vino before bed, no magnesium & was sleeping on floor/sharing dds bed poor nights sleep.

We'd pancakes for breakfast first one spinach cheddar & chilli oil, second Serrano pecan & walnuts & maple syrup le yum
Envy at Victoria sponge for brekkie though

Waitress that's exactly how frugal ways start & dc love picnics too
