Wreck that's a pain, can you get your money back, if they can't change the date?

£15 on dry cleaning.
£10, near enough, stocking fillers. Walkers short bread, super are and special treat for DD Grin

CremeEggThief · 01/11/2016 16:08

Welcome back Tayto and welcome to Kit.Smile

Wreck, could you take just DS or DS and a niece/nephew/special friend, unless you can get a refund? Then maybe you could have some mum and daughter time and take DD to a Santa in your local area?

Cathode, I thought that was you!

40 pence spend today, collecting a book I'd reserved from the library. I've been busy all day with housework, as I had to do my normal Monday jobs today instead, due to working yesterday. I've ordered a Sainsburys shop for tomorrow evening, although we're okay until the weekend, as they had some £1 delivery slots left for tomorrow and they were more expensive later in the week.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/11/2016 16:25

£1.99 contact lense fluid
99p b vitamins
15p walkers lights crisps.

WreckTangled · 01/11/2016 16:35

No they won't give us our money back and dd would be gutted if I went without her

Wildernesstips · 01/11/2016 17:18

Hi, bought some groceries and stocking fillers - about £35 in total.

If anyone is into Hornby train sets or are considering for Xmas, Hawkins Bazaar have some real bargains. DS2 used to be really into it.

Em so glad you have sorted out your differences.

Wreck I hear that the Harrods Santa is sold out - could you sell your tickets?

WreckTangled · 01/11/2016 17:33

Unfortunately not as its got my dc's likes and dislikes etc Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/11/2016 18:06

That's a shame wreck.
Welcome KitKat and welcome back tayto.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/11/2016 18:08

KitKat you can definitely scrimp on presents. A wrapped box of helium and normal balloons was the biggest hit for my dc at that age, loads of play in a big box. Save the expensive stuff for when they are older. Also I did second hand to as they grow so fast

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/11/2016 18:16

Hi all, welcome kitkat you are in good company on this thread as there are least two other pregnant frugaleers!! Yes make the most of them being little and being easily pleased, it gets trickier once they get to great big 10yos - like my dd! Places like The Works and Wilkos do nice but cheap gifts for little ones.

I was back to work today, stupidly didn't check my shifts till very late last night and then realised i was on an 8-4 today so was an early start!! Hence have been quite knackered plus hit the ground running at work as it was very busy.

Oh well, was a NSD although have had my monthly childcare bill which is supposedly budgeted for!

Dd has football in a bit, yay Hmm

CathodeRayTube · 01/11/2016 18:24

Those trainsets look nice. Smile

Tryingtosaveup · 01/11/2016 18:34

Hi all, when mine were toddlers they liked nothing better than a big cardboard box they could sit in and pretend. And balloons and bubbles.
Wilderness have you name changed? Am I missing something?
NSD today.
Wood burner is going but the heating is not on yet.

ememem84 · 01/11/2016 18:45

tayto I'm not seeing NZ as a holiday. It's a summons/obligation. Bol is getting married. So we have to go. luckily it's somewhere I like!! this will be my third trip out there. Smile

kitkat welcome!!!!

wreck nooooooo how annoying!!

Spends today:

£1.98 in the 99p store for biscuits for work and carpet cleaner.

£.89p in shop for twiglets!!!! Yummmm

And...£54 into my account from PayPal. It's a refund for something I ordered on feelunique. But I don't think that it necessarily came out of my account because I cancelled it immediately. Only realised this once I'd put the money in my bank account. Have moved it to one side though just in case they want it back.

ememem84 · 01/11/2016 18:47

Just been to the gym and then walked home. I am so close to my 1000km this year. So far have walked (and mapped on my phone) 982km. I am going to finish the challenge this week!!!!!! Eeeeeekkk!

WreckTangled · 01/11/2016 18:47

Mine love balloons too. And those polystyrene aeroplanes you can get that are about 20p each. Also those dancer ribbons which are £1 on Amazon. Umm stickers always go down well. On Christmas morning I wrap up a variety cereal pack too Grin

Ds has swimming lessons tomorrow and has cried the past two weeks. Not looking forward to it, I don't have the energy right now.

KitKat1985 · 01/11/2016 18:48

Ahh thank you for all the welcomes. :)

Yes I'm building up an Amazon wish-list for Christmas of bargain gifts. I'm also going to raid the pound shop for colouring books and sticker sets (DD1 loves colouring and stickers). For DD2 we're really just going to get some token gifts. We literally have loads of baby toys all saved from having DD1, and we have saved all of her clothes as well (luckily really we're having another girl), so there really isn't much point buying loads of stuff for a newborn just for the sake of it. Plus both girls will get things from all of our families so they won't be short on presents.

Just to say DH recently discovered that if anyone uses the childcare vouchers website, you can buy Tesco gift cards on their discount shop at a 4% discount. I'm planning to buy a £100 voucher for our next big shop for £96. Every little helps!

We have also managed to avoid putting the heating on so far, but I think I'm going to have to cave soon as the temperature is really going to start to drop this week apparently.

SnugglySnerd · 01/11/2016 19:19

Evening all, it's just taken me a while to catch up!
Have had two super-busy days at work but on the plus side they were two NSDs. Came home tired and was a bit stroppy with my mum. Feel a bit bad now. I just don't cope well with being talked at the second I step through the door before I've had a brew!
Welcome newcomers and new cats! I think I've missed a couple of name changes, I'm getting a bit confused! Have worked out Cathode though.
Pleased things are better, Em, writing a letter is a good idea as you can think carefully about what to say and say it really calmly too.

Wildernesstips · 01/11/2016 20:35

trying I have name changed but not recently. Used to be on here with a very common surname in my name, and iirc I live in the same county as Girlie.

Woe kitkat, good going on the heating - even here in the south it feels really cold without it on.

Cagliostro · 01/11/2016 21:09

DD loved her tap class so looks like she's going to join up. :)

SnugglySnerd · 02/11/2016 06:54

Cag please could you suggest something that would be a good gift for 2 junior age home ed kids? Was thinking of a chemistry set but thought you might be able to suggest something better!

WreckTangled · 02/11/2016 07:04

LSD today. I need a new eye liner and have bought something from fb selling site for £4. Brand new wooden cars so can be a Christmas present for my friends ds.

ItalianWiking84 · 02/11/2016 07:41

Should be lsd today.
I have a midwife app class today for all of us due next week due to the weather forecast promising snow storm and wind from the weekend onwards. We will need yo be prepared for what we do in case we are locked in, our roads are not accessible ect. Dh needs to be there so he has the morning off, the midwife will give him the overall information about how to get the baby out in case we don't have any other choice.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/11/2016 08:31

There's a switching incentive for tsb bank, I've just applied & been accepted, it's £100 min pay in £500.
