Fluffy we have a miele washing machine from Marks Electrical. Smile

Need I had forgotten the wallpaper. You're quite right. I'll just get sunglasses.

The oven man came and says he thinks we need a new fan. (£200)

The oven is a pyrolitic self-cleaning one and he says they do tend to self-destruct because the 500 degree heat of the self-cleaning cycle melts the grease on the back which then runs into the fan.

It's a bit of a problem because that's our second fan gone in 5 years and they cost £200 a time. I don't fancy a non-self-cleaning oven, which means maybe switching to gas.

My dm has a gas oven which has been going strong for 25 years and never needs cleaned, because the gas flame burns the grease off as it appears in the air.

Do any of you have gas ovens? I love electric because it is so easy to control the temperature compared to gas, but I don't fancy oven cleaner, or spending £200 every other year on maintenance.

I have cracked one of my ribs reaching too far over a fence to get something. Ooops.

I just noticed that we're right up against the end of the thread so I have made a new one for when we need it:

I'm also thinking of Collie and Italian. Hope things are going well out there.

Aiming for nsd but didn't get anything out the freezer for dinner. We had pasta last night so not sure what to do... Maybe jacket potatoes?

ememem84 · 18/11/2016 07:04

Should be nsd today. I'm so happy it's Friday!

Which is the Jamie oliver book please?

In "ministry of food" there's a great sweet potato and chorizo soup. It's delish!

trying great idea to bully encourage dds to pay into a pension. When I started work my work had one but you couldn't join until you were 26. So I had 5 years of not paying.

Get them to start now. I try and squirrel away 10% each month for mine then pay a lump sum in Nov/Dec. Mines a Zurich one, al RRAT I think.

Morning,
I have made a momentous decision ad I'm going to resign from work. Ive been poorly with illness (i suffer with dizziness and vertigo) all this year ad have struggled all year. I'm going to phone in sick monday, get signed off then send a letter.

Wish me luck as money will be super tight what with all our debt but I'm so unhappy.

Does anyone know about applying for sick benefit?

Hope everyone else is doing ok Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/11/2016 07:23

That is a momentous decision, do you feel like a weight has been lifted?.

Cagliostro · 19/11/2016 11:18

Allthebest sorry you're so ill :(

I just wanted to say, are you sure quitting is the best step? I was told to keep signed off when I was simply unable to work, and eventually they dismissed me due to health (if I'd had a pension it would be 'medical retirement'). It was stressful, but we were far safer that way financially. I know a few people who have quit because of their health but they ended up in dire situations. :(

It might be worth going to the CAB or something to talk it through. x

I would also recommend getting signed off over simply resigning.

£18 on fruit/veg, got a 15 kilo bag of potatoes for £3.50 Grin also £16 treating all of us to Brew and Cake
