Mines a hotpoint which is a good few years old. I'm sure it's done nappies out was that the one before,i forget.
I'm reading old threads and most makes seem hit / miss these days. LG seem to get decent reviews. Does the miele outlet do mail order as we are north east

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2016 19:32

No, you have to go there. You can always see what good housekeeping magazine say on the subject.

WreckTangled · 17/11/2016 19:34

It's ok thanks need Smile

£5 on an amazing chicken and bacon baguette for lunch.

My washing machine is a hotpoint and is still going strong after eight years.

CremeEggThief · 17/11/2016 20:02

Need, you're just as entitled to vent as any of the rest of us. We all need to do it every now and again. Glad the pony helped you feel better.

Hope the washing machine makes it through til after Christmas, Life. Nobody wants the expense of replacing white goods this close to Christmas. Try ao.com or John Lewis in Newcastle when you have to act.

Spends: £9.70 bus, £2.25 hot chocolate (it was dreadful, too) and £10 deposit on 2 Christmas lunches at a foodie pub for me and my pal. I think I've had a bit of a crash tonight, as I had to walk 3 miles return trip to the pub after 2 full days working with under 5s and not enough sleep, and I can't seem to move off the sofa since I got home at 5 p.m. DS just made stirfry for dinner. I'm going to force myself to wash up now and maybe go to bed early to read.

SnugglySnerd · 17/11/2016 20:03

Agreed it is bloody freezing today!
I have just made my first ever mortgage overpayment. Only £55 but it's a start.
Fluffy, I'm sure you will know this - who is the best person in a company to complain to? Is it the CEO and if so how do I find their contact details? Had a fairly minor complaint that I tried to email but it kept bouncing back, turns out the customer services email is wrong on their website. So I posted it instead but have heard nothing - actually wondering if their address is wrong too!

CremeEggThief · 17/11/2016 20:06

I can't get warm tonight, even under my blanket on the sofa. I think I need to raise my thermostat again too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2016 20:25

Google Snuggly 👊

Grin
SnugglySnerd · 17/11/2016 20:29

Thanks, Fluffy, I knew you would know!

Tryingtosaveup · 17/11/2016 20:33

Snuggly, and keep a copy of the letter when you post it. And if you get no reply send another letter and a copy of the first letter ...to the chairperson.
If you still get nowhere send it to a newspaper or post it on Facebook .
Worked for me with British Airways. They kept ignoring me and I kept copies of all my letters. In the end send the whole bloody lot to the chairman....apology and return business class ticket to anywhere in the world.....small complaint in the beginning.
Need, good that you moaned. I moan a lot and it never seems so bad when you realise others have a vent to.
£NSD
Downstairs cloakroom is finished. It's only small but it looks so much better. Ensuite upstairs next.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/11/2016 20:33

Glad you are feeling better Need. Perfectly reasonable to vent, we all feel a bit ground down from time to time.

White goods breaking is a nightmare. My washer broke when DS was 3 weeks old - I wasted no time getting a new one! However, bought a separate Candy washer and dryer (replacing a combined washer-dryer) but sent the Candy washer straight back as it was crap. Bought a Bosch. Kept the dryer but it isn't great.

I've just had to fix my dryer and my oven recently - very glad not to have to replace them while I'm not working. The dishwasher is 15 years old though so I expect its days are numbered.

Freezing here today.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/11/2016 20:39

Ooh, exciting Trying! Can you post a pic?

Tryingtosaveup · 17/11/2016 20:53

Christmas, I've taken a pic and would love to post it but don't know how.
I only have this iPad mini at the moment as my laptop is getting repaired. (DP broke it last week) so don't know if it's possible to post pic.
Would love to know how.

Tryingtosaveup · 17/11/2016 20:55

It needs to be decorated so doesn't look much but I like it and it works

BOO! The Freaky Frugaleers prepare for Halloween and beyond. All welcome!
Tryingtosaveup · 17/11/2016 20:56

Blimey, worked out how to do it😀

Wildernesstips · 17/11/2016 20:58

Wine for Need - definitely good to vent it sometimes. Sounds like you both work really hard. I'm sure it's not easy to take time off when you are self employed.

LSD, just £2 on lunch.

Bastard delivery driver put a box from The Book People in our garden (think it is DH's Christmas present for me), which is now really soggy. Why would you do that when it is raining heavily Confused?

Wildernesstips · 17/11/2016 21:00

Trying that looks really neat. What kind of floor tiles are they - they are gorgeous.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/11/2016 21:15

Love what you've done with the under stair storage. What colour will you use in there?.

John Lewis are refunding me £10.50 because I bought two lampshades with vouchers & the price has dropped within 28 days.

I can afford a cushion now!. Exciting times.

Unescorted · 17/11/2016 21:29

need a vent is good. Saves serving time at times.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/11/2016 21:33

That looks great Trying. Love the neat sink unit and the tiles look lovely and expensive. Worth the saving up!

Needastrongone · 17/11/2016 21:46

Cath You couldn't live in the 50's, your eyes wouldn't cope with the wallpaper and swirly carpets Grin. I'm glad your DS enjoyed his play date.

Girlie Yeah, he knows, You know me! We've talked. We always concede both sides and reach a compromise. He's going into work later and walking the dogs for me, I've tried to listen to how busy he is Smile I'm wondering the same about Collie.

Life Have/can you cleaned out the filter? Done a wash with a dishwasher tablet in it to get rid of build up.

Hope you are ok Creme, rest up. Thank you, I know I need to vent, but what have I got to get upset about I sometimes wonder?

Thinks it's a wonderful use of space Trying.

That's just ridiculous Wilderness re the parcel, how stupid!

Picture of cushion required Fluffy.

Okay, I've harped before about the Jamie Oliver before but I made Mulligatawny soup tonight, Supposed to make 4 portions but there's at least 3/4 left. 4 portions of veg in each portion. I have never used a recipe book so much, and so often. A tenner well spent.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/11/2016 22:10

I am going to try and borrow the Jamie from the library.

I made this today - I make it often as it is quick to prepare, cheap, nutritious and warming! I replace the carrots with butternut squash as DH doesn't like carrots what with being cheaper and so much easier to peel

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1702/cold-weather-hotpot

AdoraBell · 17/11/2016 22:33

Can he tell the difference once the carrots butternut squash is chopped and cooked Christmas? my DDs don't like mushrooms so I never use them, whole.

Which book is that Need? And well done talking things through with DH, and venting, I am currently re-training DDs to put stuff in the dishwasher or bin, it's a slog.

Well done on the cushion Fluffy, and yep, pic when it arrives Grin

Cloakroom looks lovely Trying

I forgot to confess to 15 quid on fancy pants chocolates on line last night. I was still super p'd off and booze doesn't work for me in those circs.

Have just had a word with DDs about paying into a pension from first pay packet. One needs shocking into submission, t'other will be sorted way before retirement age.

ChristmasSeacow · 17/11/2016 22:40

Ha, yes he can. They are quite chunky but even cut up small in soup he sulks and tries to sift them out.

This is not his worst culinary shortfall - he doesn't eat cheese Shock

Tryingtosaveup · 17/11/2016 22:42

Thanks for the nice comments.
The tiles are natural stone. Something like "Tarantino" can't remember and cba to get up and find receipt.
It was very dark before. I have had the door turned round so it opens outwards to give more space.
Probably paint it a very light grey...advice please?
Got to but 10 square metres of tiles for the two bathrooms upstairs tomorrow. Spendy but worth it.

Tryingtosaveup · 17/11/2016 22:43

Both Collie and Italian are missing.
Italian will have had her baby DD
Collie may have moved and have no wifi
