Hello!!! Yes, it's me and sorry I've not been on here for how many months. In my defence, I was on long leave leaving the old place and starting the new one, and then lots of building work going on etc.

I did think about posting on mn, but didn't think my account still worked but clearly it does!

Can I come back?

So good to see so many familiar names.

I'm commuting now, so need to be even more frugal with money!!
Xx

Taytocrisps · 02/11/2016 09:22

I really hope you don't get that bad weather they're forecasting Italian.

SnugglySnerd · 02/11/2016 09:26

Yes fingers crossed for you that it doesn't snow Italian.
Welcome back Aptivita, nice to see you. How's your new job?

northender · 02/11/2016 10:50

mammy it was a comment you made to em I think about counselling.
now wracking my brains as to who you are wilderness!
wreck that's really annoying about the Santa visit.
Great afternoon at the beach yesterday. Played games & I took lots of photos. Dh walked back with some of our group and had a pint at the pub but that was our only spending for the day. Got up at 0645 today and walked to the top of the hill at the back of the house we're staying in to watch the sun rise. Again took lots of pics so another frugal win.
Today we're going to put a posh picnic together from the bakers and deli in the village and have ice creams at the ice cream parlour there so a bit more spendy today.
Will try to post my sunrise pic later Smile

I just went to see my GP. She said she didn't believe anything I was saying about ds getting ill so often all these years. I changed the habit of a lifetime and tore strips off her at some length. I think I may need to change GP to one we can get to when ill. It's a shame because I like my GPs surgery and the local one is a bit grim.

I've to sign up for something called recovery skills. A one way trip to Greenland and a new life also seems attractive at this point. Smile

WreckTangled · 02/11/2016 12:08

Frugal lunch. Homemade soup. So good and it's quick, easy and healthy. Plus gets veg into Ds.

Needastrongone · 02/11/2016 12:12

Sorry, I've lost the thread a bit last few days, as it's been pretty busy here.

Spends are under control.

£40 Amazon on oil for the pony, suede cleaner.
£40 M&S on mainly Christmas presents.

I've also bought a new running watch, but I've saved all my topcashback up for this, added an extra £10 by converting it to an Amazon giftcard, which has covered the cost.

Cathode (no idea what the name change is in technical terms!! Grin). Gently put, your DS has 70% attendance at school, which is a safeguarding issue in the view of the connected parties. I think you might need to start getting him to the doctor each time he is ill, to back up your concerns and help your cause in cold hard facts. Would that help? Again, gently put, perhaps your GP is trying to help, in a not very sensitive manner? I would take him, then it's documented and clear cut. Flowers

Needastrongone · 02/11/2016 12:16

The recovery skills thing sounds good, I've just had a quick Google. Smile

Needastrongone · 02/11/2016 12:17

Oh and DS had a driving lesson, rearranged from Saturday for £40.

CathodeRayTube · 02/11/2016 12:41

Hi need Yes I I think it's clear that I need to start getting him to a GP when ill. That was the point I was making.

A cathode ray tube tv is one of these:

Needastrongone · 02/11/2016 12:48

Sorry, I apologise for misunderstanding your post.

CathodeRayTube · 02/11/2016 13:08

Okay dokey. Brew

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/11/2016 15:12

£1.80 soup and Jaffa cakes.

Needastrongone · 02/11/2016 15:22

Are the Jaffa cakes to dunk in the soup? Smile

Long walk with dogs in the sunshine. Lovely day today, but cold.

I meant to post about a customer yesterday. Her work were scammed for £30k last week. Server hacked, used the email address of the Finance Director to request accounts to send a £30k payment for a capital expenditure purchase that he made. Bogus email. Bogus account. Ouch.

No insurance as the server wasn't secure....

NeversellahouseCollie · 02/11/2016 15:37

I could really do with a Jaffa cake!

Needastrongone · 02/11/2016 15:43

Bless you, I would move straight to the gin personally. Grin How's the move going?

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/11/2016 15:50

£30K! Oh my lord that's awful.

Needastrongone · 02/11/2016 15:58

Too big a company not to have adequate server cover, you might think. But awful for the girl that sent the money.

SnugglySnerd · 02/11/2016 16:04

£30k, that is awful. Who says crime doesn't pay?!
Off to do a big shop later and fill the fridge freezer which has finally arrived!
Just spent £30 in Boots on a thermometer for babies/children since ours went awol and an Xmas present for my niece. I was able to use 3 different vouchers for extra points though so that's good.
£10 on cat litter and litter tray spray.

NeversellahouseCollie · 02/11/2016 16:09

snuggly here's a funny story regarding baby thermometers... GrinGrin we bought a really good inner ear thermometer recommended by paramedics. Anyway, one day I caught DH dipping it into bath water to test the temperature before giving DS a bath. Needless to say it didn't work after it got water inside. Grin

SnugglySnerd · 02/11/2016 16:40

Grin maybe that's what happened to ours and he just disposed of the evidence!

WreckTangled · 02/11/2016 16:54

95p on bread and milk. Didn't realise tesco White toastie was so cheap. 50p for a loaf, I usually get a nice seeded one but needs must.

£4 on this from selling site...

BOO! The Freaky Frugaleers prepare for Halloween and beyond. All welcome!
Needastrongone · 02/11/2016 17:22

You will find yours now you have bought another Snuggly Grin

£30k loss is indeed a difficult loss for most small companies.

Moroccan pork for tea.

I will menu plan tonight, as I have to collect DD from school at midnight, a trip to the theatre.

CremeEggThief · 02/11/2016 17:50

Ouch at £30k loss!Sad

Spends: £9.70 travel to work. Sainsburys order here, but that won't come out until tomorrow. £47.

ememem84 · 02/11/2016 18:30

Jeeeez £30k loss. I've just been to a seminar on cyber attacks. Made for interesting listening. one of the guys speaking showed us some of the sites on the deep web/dark web where you can bid for and buy postcodes. And credit cards.

He made us all stand up and one by one he whittled us down until he had two people in the room with a matching postcode to a card for sale on the web.

Very disturbing.

Nsd.
