Enjoy, Northender. I love the North Wales beaches, especially at this time of year.

ememem84 · 31/10/2016 19:11

I posted in relationships. But I didnt Namechange.

things are subtly different tonight. Dh read my letter. And wrote me a reply. I didn't know he was upset about things. I now do. sometimes talking isn't the answer

I came home from work and there was dinner. Flowers. And a glass of wine. Smile but more importantly: kitchen is clean. Bathrooms cleaned. Bedding changed. Washing is all done. The house is clean shiny and tidy.

we've apologised. Me for losing my shit. Him for Being rubbish.

lifelongfrugaleer · 31/10/2016 20:33

The dc got a great haul from neighbours. We stuck to people we knew though.

CremeEggThief · 31/10/2016 21:21

No callers here.Halloween Confused

Spends: £9.70 travel; £20 staff meal out for Christmas; £1.75 latte after work, as I just missed my bus home and £28 Pilates (4 lesson block). Absolutely shattered tonight, so off to bed after "Victorian Slum".

Cagliostro · 31/10/2016 21:40

Haven't seen anyone ToTing in the street at all

OP posts:
Tryingtosaveup · 31/10/2016 22:04

So pleased you have sorted it out Em.
No TorTing here either. Just be forced to eat the sweets myself. Pity to waste them😉
Oh dear Collie...I'm sure it will be ok tomorrow. If it's the house it will work out.

ememem84 · 31/10/2016 22:24

Catface is going a bit bonkers.

She keeps bouncing up the stairs into our bedroom (I'm in bed) stopping by the wardrobe. Sitting down looking at me then bouncing off. I swear she's done it about 15 times. Idiot.

AdoraBell · 31/10/2016 23:58

Still on with blumin assignment...deadline tomorrow, it must be done by tonightConfused

northender · 01/11/2016 09:41

Have read back through the thread to catch up. The name changes are keeping me on my toes, but I think I'm up to date! I hadn't picked up on mammy as a name changer until a comment over the last couple of days, sorry I'm getting slow in my old age.
collie I hope you get sorted soon and get the move you want Flowers
Em I'm sorry you've had a tough time with dh but hope he continues to pull his weight.
girlie glad you enjoyed your London trip
lifelong I love Whitby Abbey, that sounds fab.
NB typing on my iPad & working from memory so hope I've got the right people there!!

Our second Tesco order of the week has just been delivered, so far we've spent about £600 (plus more at local butchers/green grocers) but we haven't eaten out or got takeaway, it includes alcohol and there are 17 of us so I reckon that's pretty good. Having a chilled morning today and then going to the beach as it's supposed to brighten up later. Went to Morfa Nefyn yesterday which was one of the most stunning stretches of coastline I've ever been to.....stunning. Spending should be minimal today, beach boules, bat and ball and paddling (dh may swim!!) cost nothing.

CathodeRayTube · 01/11/2016 10:37

Well done Em. That's a fabulous precedent. Smile That really looks good for your future.

ItalianWiking84 · 01/11/2016 12:23

Nsd. Spending my day on the couch. Our bank advisor just called to let us know we won a price in the bank, a gift voucher for a romantic date, yai.... we are in process of switching and they are a new bank so all new customers where in for a win, so that's a really nice thing to look forward to when baby dd is a bit older and ready for being babysat

Taytocrisps · 01/11/2016 13:59

Hi everyone,

just caught up with you all.

Cag sorry to hear your Dad's had to give up driving but it must be re-assuring to know that there's no risk of him having an accident. I had to laugh when I read about the Hotel Chocolat store opening up near you. You may leave the frugaleers thread now Smile.

em very happy to hear you're off to NZ in 2017 and it's a good idea to do a far flung trip like that BC (Before Children). Sorry to hear you've been having housework issues with your DH. I'm glad you've made up with him and he's making an effort but I hope he keeps it up now and doesn't let things slide again.

allthebest it's probably a little early to tell if your budget is working. Maybe try it for three or four months. If you're managing to live within your buget and pay off debt then it sounds good. You can always review it after a few months.

Collie carpet in a bathroom doesn't sound too appealing but I think you've gone off that house anyway.

Girlie your day out in London sounds fab

mammy the cinema pass was a nice win

Cathode I think I've figured you out. Are you into science and do you have a DS?

north enjoy your break in Wales

Wheely good luck with your assignment

Welcome to the new frugaleers.

I haven't seen Lilac lately but maybe she's namechanged?

I'm keeping well, just had a very busy time of it since September. The first two months of term have flown by.

Hallowe'en was expensive what with buying a costume, buying face paint and of course, goodies for the Trick or Treaters.

It's mid term break week here. We caught up with some friends at the weekend and DD went Trick or Treating last night. She's had some cold symptoms since the weekend so we're spending a quiet day at home today. I got some DVDs from Amazon ('13 going on 30' and 'Practical Magic') so we're going to have a few movie nights at home. She also has a birthday party sleepover on Thursday night. BC (Before Children) I never anticipated how much of my disposable income would be spent on birthday presents!

It's been a particularly nice October in Ireland this year (lots of crisp sunny days) and every day I find myself awestruck at the beautiful autumn colours all around me. Thanks to Mother Nature for the free displays Smile.

I'm loving all the cat photos and winter boots photos. I'd love to buy a new pair (boots, not cats) but can't really justify the expense at such an expensive time of year so I've been looking wistfully in shop windows and walking away Halo. I'll get another year out of my current boots.

I've been thinking ahead to Christmas and we got our Santa presents at the weekend. We saved €15 on a Lego Friends toy. I'm very mindful that Christmas is an expensive time and I don't want to fritter away money on unnecessary presents or luxury grocery items that will end up in the food waste bin in January because we never got around to eating them. So this thread will be more important than ever over the next 8 weeks or so.

Sorry for the essay!

CathodeRayTube · 01/11/2016 14:06

That's me Tayto. Smile

KitKat1985 · 01/11/2016 14:14

Hello. Would you mind if I tentatively popped my head in and said hi to you all? Smile I'm KitKat1985 and I have a 2 year old DD and I'm due another DD later on this month. Just using up some holiday allowance and then will be down to maternity pay only for the next year. I've managed to put a bit aside in savings to help us out but I need to use it carefully as I need it to last the year (especially need some kept back for the last 3 months of leave when I've got no statutory maternity pay coming in). I need to seek out as many ways as possible that we can practically tighten out belts for the year without resorting to living on beans on toast for 12 months! So I thought joining you ladies might be a good idea. I'm also going to hop onto the Christmas bargains thread later. Thankfully with DD1 being only 2 (and obviously having a newborn soon too) I reckon me and DH can get away with scrimping a bit on presents this year as obviously the girls have no understanding yet of how much gifts cost!

NeversellahouseCollie · 01/11/2016 14:17

tayto yeah I've gone totally off that house. It needed loads of work! We've decided to rent now, found a place and are hoping to sign tenancy agreement alongside exchange of contracts. Smile must hope and hope that our buyers don't pull out as the poor landlady is patiently waiting for us!

Sorry I haven't caught up with anyone else. I have been so stressed out that I could barely think straight.

Spent;
£2 bus
75p on gingerbread pumpkin
£12 in Boots
£3.99 in H&B
And I withdrew £10 but have most of it left.

Oh and I have to buy more milk later. Coffee consumption has increased lots!

GruffaloPants · 01/11/2016 14:24

Just bought a massive pumpkin in Sainsburys for 10p. Get yourself down there if you like pumpkin!

NeversellahouseCollie · 01/11/2016 15:10

KitKat welcome :) you can definitely scrimp on Christmas presents this year with the littleuns. Last year DS was 2 and his favourite gift was a nursery rhyme CD and a pack of snap cards. We also saved up for bigger fancier presents - which all got ignored! Blush I've learnt my lesson.

This year we will be scrimping too. Next year when he is 4 may be a little trickier as he will be more aware.

Toddlers are easily pleased with anything wrapped up in pretty paper. And bubbles!

Good luck with baby DD Flowers

WreckTangled · 01/11/2016 15:53

So I booked harrods Santa back in September. Turns out dd now has a school trip that day and will be home an hour late so we won't make it in time Sad
